Today, a middle-aged, young lady with the name B.K who was also a 300L student in the state owned tertiary institution lost her life to a head-on collision of the motorcycle she boarded with a car driven by a young Driver. By the time she was brought into our Accident and Emergency Department, it was already too late and she was declared dead on arrival (DOA) and Motorcycle Rider is currently receiving Treatment. Eyewitnesses said that the accident was caused by the car driver who while on speed tried to dodged a pothole on his lane and the Vehicle crossed to the other lane where the impact between the car and the motorcycle occurred. The Driver has been detained by the police for the due course of law to take place.

my personal opinion is that
1. when driving on the road especially within a community observe and maintain the recommended speed limit. You are not the only one using the road.

2. Am also of the opinion that investigations should be made to catch all these driving schools that collect bribe and offer driving school certificate most of the young drivers on our roads today and those found wanting should be made to face the full wrath of the Law.
3. Lack of well trained Paramedical and Emergency Response personnel is a huge contributory factor to the high percentage of Deaths due to RTA. This needs Fixing.

Most importantly always say a word of Prayer before stepping out of the house.

Some Causes of RTA amongst others are;
1. Reckless Driving
2. Driving under the influence of alcohol and/or Hard Drugs ( e fit happen one day).
3. Vehicle Negligence.

May the deceased RIP and I pray God give the family the fortitude to bear the Lose.

I present S.K a 67 year old patient known hypertensive who presented to the accident and emergency Ward with bilateral leg swelling of two months duration, abdominal swelling of two weeks duration, difficulty in breathing (dyspnea)of One direction and hiccup of one day Duration. he was diagnosed of hypertension 25 years ago and has Poorly been compliant with medications. on cardiovascular examination his pulse rate was 80 beats per minute, irregularly regular, normal volume and there was the presence of arterial wall thickness. His blood pressure was 110/80 mmHg, locomotor brachialis present, jugular venous pressure was present and measures 3.5 mmH2O apex beat was felt at the 6th left intercostal space at the midclavicular line, S1 S2 heart sound was present and there was also S3 gallop. Presence of chronic pedal edema extending to the thighs.
The patient is currently being managed in our facility.

If you're a known hypertensive who was diagnosed before now kindly be complaint with medication and try to meet up with your cardiologist appointments. To the rest of Us try to check your blood pressure on a regular.

We lost patient E.P a 67 years old female, a known diabetic who was diagnosed about 2 years ago in another Facility and HAS NOT BEEN COMPLIANT with Medications. This resulted to Diabetic End Organ complications. Before this patient packed, Her Random Blood Glucose has been flactuating from pillar to post within the range of (13.31 to 16.33) mmol/l. She was brought into the ER unconscious ( one of the Diabetic Emergencies) Hyperglycaemic Coma. The doctors did there best, the patient has been resuscitated a couple of times while in our Facility with the normal ABCD of Resuscitation administered to her. A while later the Nurses called her Respiratory Rate has changed she was having Tachypnea, then her heart shut down CPR and Defribilator was used in an attempt to Resuscitate the patient again but all to no avail. Her time of death was 9:32pm that day.

Advise: if you're a known Diabetic or you know someone who is a known Diabetic, advise them and yourself to get a glucometer to check their blood glucose levels daily and regularly and also religiously adhere to medications as prescribed by the Doctors. Diabetes is a disease that affect all the organs system in the body. And the Complications of this deadly Disease is what leads to death and not the disease itself. Let's Save a life today. Cigarette smoking is the number one risk factor for lung cancer.

Smokers are 15 - 30 times more likely than nonsmokers to develop or die from lung Cancer.

How does Cigarette Smoking Cause cancer.

The cancer causing chemicals in cigarette are called Carcinogens, the override the cell's innate protection from DNA damage. This carcinogens builds up over time and causes Cancer.

Research has shown that there are at least 16 cancers caused by smoking ; Cancer of Liver, Ovary, Kidneys, Lungs, Colon, Cervix, bladder, Oropharynx etc.

Each Cigarette that a person smokes has the tendency of reducing the lifespan by an average of 11 minutes. Thus Smoking is the biggest preventable cause of Cancer.

Passive smoking i.e a second party inhalation of smoke is the third leading cause of lung cancer, causing an estimated 3000 lung cancer deaths every year.

Regardless of how long a person has smoked, can reduce the chances of dying from lung cancer by half in 10 years.

This is still like a dream to me, as I can’t just imagine how my only daughter could stoop this low.

I’m a businesswoman, married to a well-known politician in the State and we are blessed with a pretty young lady who is our only child.
Though we wish to have more children, fate did not allow us.

Folake is a very pretty lady, smart and hardworking. She left Nigeria to study abroad at 15 after she completed her education she was able to secure a job over there. She is now a medical doctor, working with one of the well-known hospitals in the UK.

Back to Nigeria, my husband and I are living fine and we have honest people working with us not only in our different offices even at home. We have two drivers driving us, one an Igbo young man of 30 Charles and a Yoruba young guy of 32 years Gboyega. Both are good, humble and honest drivers.

But Gboyega’s character is exceptional among other workers, he is not just humble but also lively to be with, that is why I and my husband always want him to drive us.

Three months ago our daughter came back to the country to continue her career and also to settle down.

I noticed she is always with Gboyega, at first I didn’t suspect anything as I know Gboyega is a lovely person to be with and he is easy to make friends with. But the closeness between Gboyega and my only daughter has gone beyond my imagination, now Folake always wants him to be around her.
I once asked Folake what is between her and Gboyega but her answer was “we are just friends”.

Just last month I was in the sitting room with Folake discussing as she was showing some pictures she took with her friends in the UK then she went to the Kitchen to check what she was cooking. Just as she left for the kitchen leaving her phone with me, her phone beep it was a message from “My heartbeat”.

Firstly I smiled since she is not a small girl and I’ve been looking forward to seeing a guy with her.

I opened the message and it reads “Hi love, trust you are fine. Please, I don’t think our outing this evening will be possible as mummy said she will be going out this evening and I’m the one taking her out. Bye love.”

At first, I didn’t understand what was going on but I quickly checked the sender number and started typing it on my phone and I was shocked with what I saw at the end. Immediately I finished typing it displayed “Driver2- Gboyega” meanwhile on my daughter’s phone It’s “My heartbeat”. Then I remembered I had told him he will take me out later that day. I didn’t react that day, as I kept it to myself.

Two days later I called my daughter and asked her what is between her and the driver, at first she wanted to deny and I told her everything I saw on her phone. She immediately knelt down and confessed that Gboyega is the person she wants to marry.

Though Gboyega is full of good characters but he is just an OND holder in Business Administration. He is from a poor family, which is another challenge.

What a great shame this is going to be, our only daughter to marry the son of nobody?
How do I tell my friends whose I’ve celebrated with in time past and are eagerly waiting for my turn?

Or how do I tell my husband who is a complete disciplinarian, what will be his reaction when he hears that his daughter and only child is about to marry a driver.

Being a house officer isn’t easy, as a junior
doctor, you are the first on call, you do all the
work, and you leave the hospital dejected,
sunken and scawny, with no babes to fvck….
The next morning, with little sleep, I had to
attend the morning review….
My registrar was a very lazy, and very dull
doctor, in fact I didn’t know how he passed
through medical school….
He was just giving me tough assignments to
do; chasing blood samples, checking vital
signs, urinary output, all that crap….
And those big-assed nurses didn’t help
matters too…..
Until I had to go to the post-natal ward….
And while I was checking the blood pressure
of a patient…..
“Hello, I want to use the
sphygmomanometer”
I looked up and saw a dark-skinned nurse,
not too fine joor….
“As you can see, I’m using it, so u have to
wait”
“Please be fast, I want to use it” she scoffed
rudely….
I was like “what’s wrong with this ugly brat”

After the holidays, school resumed and I couldn't wait to see my friends and my bestie Dora ( not real name), 1st semester was really fun for us all, we had our first class in a tuesday. Dora was looking radiant as always. Had discussion on how our 2nd year will be, to qualify into the problem you must get a minimum of 50 marks in Chemistry, Biology and Physics as a cumulative for both semesters.

1. Genetically speaking, all men have the cheating gene its either recessive or dominant.

2.If your man has side chicks while dating you, he will have mistresses while married to you.

​10. They Have Held Your Waec Result The Fourth Time:​

If waec continues to withhold your result, it means your village people are using your result to wrap Akara… lol.

​11. You Have Been Writing Waec For Years:​

If you have written waec more than five times, it means your village people are matching after you…
