PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy Removal, What Has Changed Since 2012? by myopinion2011: 3:48am On May 16, 2016
What has changedhuh

1. GEJ is no longer d president.

2. Those who sponsored the protest in 2012 are now in power.

3. Nigerians thought GEJ was lying about cabals, until recently cabals held the nation to hostage through artificial scarcity for almost a year.

4. What a woman can do successfully with ease(Diezani), two men cannot do with force (Buhari and Kachiku)

5. And you, you are 4 years older now.
PoliticsRe: See Minimum Wage In Top 10 Oil Producing Countries - Compare And Contrast by myopinion2011: 3:01am On May 16, 2016
All we need is diversification. Minimum wage increment will put pensioners, non-salary earners and students vulnerable. Because there will be hyper inflation.

BusinessRe: Greedy Nigerians Cashing In On The Rising Dollar Exchange Rate by myopinion2011: 1:26pm On Feb 23, 2016
Bevista:
I don't think it's completely out of place for folks to increase the price of their goods and services, even though there is no direct FX input.
---
The reality is that these business men/women patronize other goods/services which have increased in prices due to dollar effect. As a result, they have to re-price their items so they can generate enough income to meet the rising price of other items. For instance, mama Nkechi (who sells palm oil or pure water) might need to buy Sardine which has increased from N150 - N200, or replace lost phone which has increased from N20k - N30k, or buy her son a laptop which has increased from N70k - N120k.
---
A high exchange rate usually gives rise to (imported) inflation. Should the CBN officially devalues the Naira and fuel price increases, then the inflation will become official. Everything in the market will respond instantaneously with price increase. The REAL value of your salaries will become less since it can now only buy a fraction of what it used to buy.
---
Strike action looming from NLC demanding wage increase. Employers will resist, complaining that rising wage will add to the already rising cost of business. SMH!
wiseone, I was abt leaving d thread wen I saw ur comment. thanks for ur enlightenment, it unfortunate people create thread with little or no research.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Should Keep Quiet – Pat Utomi by myopinion2011: 12:46pm On Feb 22, 2016

Thank you sir. Any how you want to see it, let us go back to productive economy and do away with this import depending nonsense.
But devaluation of naira is not what will propelled the people to produce goods and services that are needed locally.
it is my bro. demand is a function of price. d higher d price d lower d demand, as we were taught in secondary education. if naira is devalued, the price of imported goods will be high. take for example d price of rice might be as high as 30,000 per bag, you as a rational consumer will want to buy the rice produced locally which might be cheaper compared to rice imported. if importers see dey are no longer patronize, they will stop exporting our jobs. this is a wide topic, many don't understand.08132366020 for detail explaination.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Should Keep Quiet – Pat Utomi by myopinion2011: 10:39am On Feb 22, 2016
ibisko04:
Your patriotic sense is very low. Are you happy because naira is getting worse or you are happy to see Buhari government as a failure?
You people are so comfortable with buying and selling.
Production has become a taboos. Even, the food we are eating is dwindling by local production.
Our farmers are aging , no younger generation of todays is ready to take up their jobs either mechanically or manually.
Rice, beans, chicken and many others food are 70% imported.
In another ten years time, yam and some locally processed food will not be available locally again.
All these nonsense about devaluation of naira will continue until we look inward to start productive economy rather than every body been an importer.
sorry my bro, d workings of international Finance has eluded u, you and your president Buhari are illiterates in dis context. What Utomi and a few concerned Nigerians stand for is that only devaluation will FORCE Nigerians to real production as u av mentioned above. If u don't understand how it works, call an economics teacher or see me after class.
PoliticsRe: Buhari Should Keep Quiet – Pat Utomi by myopinion2011: 1:12pm On Feb 21, 2016
Pat, Buhari has no knowledge of economy. It is unfortunate will av an illiterate president, more unfortunate he does not take advice. Leave him, he has refused to devalue d naira, bt naira has bn devalueing itself.

ISpiksDaTroof:
If this was here in the States, does this pendejo know that he just talked himself into at least 20 years in Prison?! HE HAS NO DEFENSE!!!

And why is the EFCC allowing all sorts of characters visit inmates pending trial? The ONLY people that should be allowed to visit him PRE-TRIAL are his legal team; even his spouse should only be allowed to speak to him on monitored phone calls and only for a few minutes each week until the conclusion of proceedings. He should not be allowed access to his PERSONAL phones, and his letters--- both incoming and outgoing--- except VERIFIED Attorney/Client correspondence should be monitored. The result of neglecting control of Pre-Trial Inmates is the idiocy we see in the above article.

Anyway, Nigeria is still learning, hopefully they get it right before it's too late.

the REAL production start from production of raw materials which is basically FARMING.

N2trillion is about N166.5bn per month in a year. If Lagos could raise over N20b n in a month, Nigeria should have no problem raising eight times of that figure.
For the fact that he did it in Lagos is enough for me to believe him to repeat it at the federal level.[/quote in case u don't know Lagos alone shares 50% of Nigerian economy. If you are in doubt ask SLS fmr CBN Boss. Mo State in Nigeria can compete with Lagos I'm terms of IGR, where your slave master is the Land.

If APC used corruption as one of their points to campaign against Jonathan/PDP, it confirms that they knew all that before elections and yet promised all that. I guess they shld av prepared on Hw to fulfill all those promises. Lai Mohamed still campaigning and lieing after elections.
