oga next time when they ask you to highlight policies, do that. All you have succeeded in doing is stating the present economic situation.

coming here to state the issues rather than how the government is intending to solve them as asked clearly says alot about your thought process.

whatever level you think you are, your responses betray you...then again empty barrels they say...
If you are not aware of the curtailing policies, and refusal of the govt to devalue the naira, then why should i be communicating with you.

Are you aware of ban on some 41 imported items?
are you aware of the restructuring and cleansing process in top revenue generating agencies like NNPC, nimasa, firs. npa ?
Are you aware of TSA?
Are you aware of the refusal of fg to devalue naira against what IMF want?
are you aware of the impact of devaluing the naira?
are you aware of efforts to get the refineries working, and a MINUTE improvement in refinery production?
are you aware that the current admin has refused to go the austerity ways even in trying times , but choosen to spend a lot on capital projects in 2016?

How much can a 7.5 months govt do, when it came in the midst of a thick storm?, it is common sense bro, use it.

I keep thanking God, GEJ was not the one who was in charge of facing this storm. from 114 usd/barrel to 30usd/barrel is no small storm, he can only weather it, no matter the screams on diversification, if we start now, beneits might start trickling in by at least 12 months from now.

Dont be driven by emotions, use COMMON SENSE.

Was listening to the finance minister on NTA's good morning Nigeria and it appears shes even more clueless than i imagined.with her 2-kobo British accent simple questions posed to her,she appeared as someone less informed, lacking in clear economic strategies to help the ailing economy. She couldn't even explain why they were borrowing even when IMF pointed out the high cost of borrowing at this time.
The economic team as presently constituted does not inspire confidence at all, the finance minister, at best, always appears like a college student making a presentation. Speaking phonetics to appear tushed doesn't mean you belong to Bretton Woods. Nigeria at this point in time needs someone who is versed in Economics & not a neophyte who is largely inexperienced, Buhari should call Charles Soludo for consultancy in the interim. Things are really looking gloomy already & I pray it does'nt get worse.

Most economic indices was pointing upwards for Nigeria until Buhari started making comments in the foreign press like "Nigeria is broke" & "Nigerians are corrupt" & since then every foreign investor ran.
The best comment on the issues at hand. The apc mode of campaign destroyed this country by 60%, the rest were karma, ineptudeness and docility. The worst is yet to hit buhari and his chain/change chanters, not the average innocent nigerians, because God will always find a way for the unfortunate.

Spoiling is very easy... fixing is hard, painful and takes time. In times of plenty if you're reckless with money, in times of little you'll suffer. This is exactly what's happening in Nigeria right now. This BBC report states the reason for this economic woes but all some people read was "Economy bad because... Buhari" The forex restrictions is due to dwindling revenue meaning there's no forex. It's not like one person is just sitting there like Mr Scrooge sitting around a pile of $$$ and laughing like a villain. We don't have the forex to trade. Now that they've lifted the restriction on $ deposit abeg start telling your brothers and sisters from obodo oyinbo to start sending some $ or better yet let's start to get creative as a nation and start thinking of how we'll be generate our foreign currency. Nigerians need to get creative and the government needs to create an enabling environment. No more handouts from government for now

you see your life, you are running away, I am going to force you to think, if you hang around. yes people wil lose jobs, it is not rocket science? Nigerias economy is wired around oil sector, and once something goes wrong there, it affects many others. Most oil coys are sacking workers for obvious reasons, there is a trickle down effect, govt revenues are dropping, meaning even govt contractors will not be paid and contracts will be abandoned, contractors will sack their workers, e.t.c

I repeat this govt will only weather the current storm, it cant stop it. If the previous ones had done a yeomans job diversifying the economy in the midst of plenty, we wont be this strongly hit.

Chinese state visit: up to £40 billion deals agreed

This was shortly after your president went to the same UK to go and be talking rubbish about Nigeria and Nigerians. Seriously what are you people going on about?

The PDP led government's depiction of the Nigerian economy was nothing but a sham. The economy was just like a time bomb waiting to explode.

Would you have preferred that PMB continues in that same line of deceit?

No way.

No. Just that he promised to stabilize it if elected and now he is the President and yet he is yet to stabilize the oil price. Please if you see him, tell him that we are still waiting for him to make true his promise and stabilize the world oil price. Before I forget Mr wise man, please also tell him that managing Nigeria's economy in the 21st century in a global setting is more complicated than rearing cows. Apparently since he left Khaki government 30 years ago, the only other thing he has done is to rear cows and contest for president.

The popularity of CBN (monetary policy) is an evidence that our fiscal policy (Ministry of Finance) is weak. I've not heard any reasonable statement from the ministry of finance since she got to her office.

I pray we dont become economic refugees because it would be disasterous for Africa & Europe with increased desert & meditteranean crossings as well as collapsing the economy of the ecowas subregion.

Just look at them. Don't you feel sorry for them?? All day theHi y were in hiding because good news flooded everywhere, but now bbc has given them a hint of "bad news", suddenly you see them popping out from everywhere like vampires after sunset. cheesy

Everything they've said boils down to the price of oil and how it is affecting us, even the report says so. Had their lord and saviour, the Clueless One, done what he was supposed to do with all we made from crude sales during his admin when oil sold mostly over $100pb, instead of stealing everything in sight, perhaps the need for this news wouldn't have arisen.

But hell, what do we expect? Good or bad news, they are programmed to wail and curse the president simply because they HATE him and hate that he defeated their god.

I hope and pray you fellas cry for seven more years. You aint seen nothing yet.

So somebody could still open their mouth to blame the past administration?
If blame is what we wanted, we probably should have let them (past administration) be so that the blame can be justified.
The next person that blames the past administration for how Nigeria is today will receive a slap from me.
