Politics / Re: PDP For Lagos, Why? by myownlife(m): 11:24pm On Feb 01, 2015
mako007:
Looking at the decay and level of corruption Nigeria is currently in after 16years under pdp led administrations, I begin to wonder why few Lagosians and its residents advocate Pdp for Lagos. I for one underwent a small scale feasibility study and I observed that few igbos especially  those at Ago/Okota/Amuwo  Odofin advocate for Pdp take over of Lagos just because they feel marginalized. I also did observe that most Yorubas Wanted Apc, but a few were passionate about "JK" saying he is a good man and can be trusted, I began to ponder how they came to their conclusions because my bible says "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man " -  Psalm 118:8 and in
Jeremiah 9:4 - "Let everyone beware of his neighbor, and put no trust in any brother, for every brother is a deceiver, and every neighbor goes about as a slanderer"   it says in Proverbs 28:26 -
"Whoever trusts in his own mind is a fool, but he who walks in wisdom will be delivered"
(apologies for going religious just wanted to reference words of wisdom).
So what's all the fuss about JK we know, Jk we trust?
Lastly I noticed that of most diehard JK supporters I encountered, were okada riders , yes! I understand their plight, I'm not insensitive but lets look deeply. Gov. Fashola did not ban okada outrightly he only placed them off roads that were not safe for Lagosians. It's all about the safety of lagosians, the mandate he was given by me and you when he assumed office. Why should a motorcycle ply the highway? This is a government that cares and follows rule of law. I've seen cases of how okada has destroyed lives, we all know the drill. To the okada riders and their sympathizers, have you watched closely, who really went out on okadas even on legal roads just to make money? Yea! The Nigerian Police Force, Nigeria operates Federalism and the police is controlled by the FG , so the much decay in the NPF who is supposed to uphold the rule of law goes about breaking the laws. Do you get my point? It's the pdp controlled corrupt police that went all out on okada even on legal roads.
No man is perfect, I feel Fasholas one big mistake was that he tried the transformation of lagos! How could that even be a mistake? Because we just not ready, we don't want to make sacrifices, we not patriotic, we lack basic love for the common man on the street. Talk about education, I'm a lasuite, I knw what Fashola did to the system. Now let's not stop this transformation, everything comes with a price. We are too way intelligent as a people to fall for promises , at least that's what PDP is about.  To be a great nation every citizen has to make meaningful contributions painstakingly. It's not about what Nigeria would do for you, what would you do for Nigeria. There is no national cake. Stealing is corruption.

So I'm open to hear views from nairlanders on why PDP should take Lagos. Please lets point out facts and not hear say like tinubu ceded the whole of lekki to his name, pls let's discuss facts. As far as I'm concerned I want the best man to win and continue the transformations . Buh as of now I know for sure it cant come from Pdp.
You are keen to know and i will tell you a few while others add theirs.
Your quoting Bible verses because today is Sunday will not buy anyones vote. I expect you to know that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and owe no one no explanation. We are voting JK because we are led by the spirit to do so, if you decide to vote Ambode because you are led by Tinubu/Fashola to do so, that is your wahala. All we know is that, the spirit of God is one. Even the devil knows those Bible verses you quoted and we are not moved by such devices.
APC administration are not professional, i can tell you this from their few works that they have done. Apart from the fact that they man toll gates everywhere to enslave Lagosians, other roads they have done are too narrow. I expect their consultants to understand that Lagos is overpopulated and the population is even increasing, the knowledge of these facts will tell you that your roads must be wide. If you have been working in Lagos, especially on the island in the past 16years, that means you have been spending about 5-8hours daily in traffic for 16years. A government that only make noise through media but have been doing nothing but enriching themselves. I remembered when Tinubu came in in 1999, that he dashed our all the flats at Marwa garden built by the military admin to politicians and they will say they are building houses for the masses. The politicians will not live the houses but rent it out at exhorbitant prices, We are not fools ooo.
APC or PDP, all na thieves.

We are voting Jimi Agbaje. Chikena!

Hello,
I got a delayed mail from CIC yesterday claiming financial reasons.
I was not so surprised because i submitted very minimal doc. I have applied already before coming here to Nairaland and the people that have submitted the least of docs here always dwarfed what i submitted. But ever since i submitted i have been constantly here studying here and I am ready to repackage.
I will be mailing my school now for a new date. This is the year for my trv.
Love you all

Pls house... Went to vfs today to pick up my passport but alas it was not stamped. I applied for trv for short term studies(2 months) and i believed i had a rejection proof application(i read and re-read this thread several times).
The reason given by the vo was purpose of visit. One striking thing was that my Sop, guarantors letter, sponsors letter, letter of intro from emminent personalities, accomodation booking, letter from school was not returned. Is this normal?
My pals are suspecting foul play from vfs i.e vfs did'nt submit those docs. Is this possible?
We are 3 in number going for the course and all of us have same complaints
In my opinion, I think you should have applied for visitor's visa as study permit cannot be issued for a 2-month study. Also, the course must be relative to your present job convincingly despite proofs.
Also note that, in the new Canada immigration law of late 2014, to get a study permit, the institution must be designated (with a particular number).
I feel that they suspected a fowl play, though that inevitable but na packaging sure pass!

My oga coordinator @mrnilobrawn, so sorry for oga Fhemmy that his gala was delayed, at least he will get it eventually. Make him relax jooor. I trust your faith, just keep up your good work, CIC will surely bow.

Dear Halimaah, using the spousal route could be a very good option for you but you need to understand that CIC now has your record for reference. My question is this, was you fiance name included in your app as either common-law partner or spouse? If no, please don't use that route for now. I will then advise that you try again and get it right. We have seen people who did that here so you a big chance.

Good day everyone, i am new to Nairaland. pls need urgent help asap. i applied online for study permit on Nov 08, 2014, did my biometrics on Nov 13, 2014 in accra. and it was stated that my biometrics has been received. but to my surprise on Dec 29, 2014, i log on to my account and noticed my biometrics is saying not yet needed. am so confused. i called the accra office and they weren't positive, they were saying they can't help and that i should contact the embassy. dont know how to go about that.

my school resumes january and am yet to be asked to submit my supporting documents. i actually thought online application will be faster.

please what do u guys advise? do i defer my admission? and if i do how to i contact CIC about that.

kacchiz
Relax your nerves man, the biometric issue on CIC account is a general problem.
But i will advise you to at least read this thread from the beginning and better still, from part 6.
There is a general processing and responses this period. A lot of peeps here are that submitted before you are yet to get response. So, while you wait, try and read through the thread and enjoy.
Happy New year in advance.

These are the documents I submitted
*undergraduate transcript
*waec result
*nysc certificate
*notification of first degree result
*declaration of age
*police report
*my admission letter
*statement of account
it application took two months for me to get a reply from them.
Anyway, I expected you to have read the previous thread before this (part 6) and also to have at least started this from the beginning.
From your list, SOP (statement of purpose) /LOE (Letter of explanation) is missing. You are expected to harmonise/defend all your document and intention in words to convince the VO that you are a genuine student. This is necessary because trv is granted without physical interviews. So all you need to when you fire back or that you should have do is to address the refusal reason in doc and with convincing and provable explanation that must make sense without contradiction. Samples of the trv winning SOP are flying around and @pchax SOP link is even on about 4 or 5pages backwards.
Best of luck bro.

Plz house help with my question
Always bear in mind that what VO wants from you is to prove them that you have the financial capacity for your study, that you have good travel history (in your case), that you will come back to your country after study.
You will need to let them understand why you chose Europe and then Canada.
The VO will like to know your brother's status in Europe (resident permit, citizenship etc) in addition to the financial proof.
I don't think your age is an issue in any way but as you have read through the thread.
Your SOP should streamline all your proofs because that is what will represent you and answer all probable question in your absence.

. So what do I do. Dats the only thing holding. Me back.
Why don't you just make affidafit of support andhe write a letter. A lot people here have used something like that without any relationship with the sponsor. It very delicate to have any false claim in you app. I have a friend now in Canada on permanent resident that has claimed his fiancee as his sister. Now they are married but the lady can't just migrate and they almost deported him and his brother that had been their 7yrs earlier.
I am advising because that person might want to one day come to Canada and he will have to fill the family background form as well. So be careful!

Wow.... I Must say that I have missed alot. Got here like 3 weeks ago and just recently settled in (Uottawa). For those on their way please and please buy only thick cloths. I found out the hard way although you still have to buy from here anyways just come prepared. These people are very welcoming and nice, imagine when I arrived the hotel i was to stay in only accept credit cards so i had to find an alternative, a taxi driver/stranger found out I was a newbie and i was cold(shivering) "3cloths+one jacket" so he drove to his house, gave me 3 winter jackets and later his number to call for anything, he carried my luggages for free from d hotel to my new apartment, gave me a bed, couch and said i should come later for his tv, cheesy that's one out three people I have met like that. So if you really wanna come I think you should it's a beautiful place filled with beautiful minds. I pray for all awaitees and hopefuls that God will make a way for them and their visas will be granted and we that are here may God crown our efforts IJN.Amen. You guys are a blessing and I hope to give back more than what i gained.I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a happy new year in advance. cheers
Whao! What a wonderful experience. Well, it's from here Nairaland that I have started seeing the beauty of being Nigerian. Outside here, I will doubt if there people with large heart. I will advise you also and everyone not to have anything too big to give away. It is always easier to do such if you believe that you acquired them by grace and not by your wisdom. I wish myself and everyone the best of luck and merry Christmas. cheesy

Good day Nairalanders, I am kinda new here but I have been going through the threads and I appreciate what you are all doing here.

Anyways, I am in a difficult situation in my Study Permit Processing. I was given a conditional admission by Carleton University for a Masters in Engineering program in Electrical and Computer Engineering in November and it took some weeks for my Undergraduate University to send my transcripts to Canada.

I finally satisfied the condition, paid my Tuition fees for the Winter term and submitted an Online application for my Study permit on the 11th of December. I also did an upront medical examination last month and attached it and my police character certificate to my letter of explanation on my application.

Please, I will like to know what are my chances of getting my TRV before the 5th of January. I know I have not waited for long but I will like to know what my chances are of getting it timeously.

God bless.
I doubt the possibility, considering the recent slow pace and the period here is even less than 4 weeks. When is the expiry date of your admission letter?

hello. medical passed peeps any update yet? I can't wait for passport request. This whole thing is taking too long.
I will advise all the awaitees to be less anxious and make preparation for your travel. I am talking about those that have done medicals. Because from what is trending here, i can see those that have submitted pp after medicals and those that are yet to get pp request after medicals. At least, for you to have been asked to do you medical means you have passed all the documentation issue. Like myself, despite so much mosquitoes bites in recent times, I have put myself under strong medication after submitting my app. Please relax and speak and act with faith provided you are not HIV + (if that is a rejection criterion).
Make your travel plan and don't intimidate someone like @tnuola.
