Dav24: When Rev Father Mbaka goes public and announced change to Nigerians, PDP supporters said alot of things against him. No one believe him until Jonathan loses. when you set your mind on what you want to hear concerning God direction, you will end up disappointed. Remember God said " my ways are not your ways, and my thoughts not your thought". Who da hell is Father Mbaka? The Spirit of God cannot say one thing today and another tomorrow, that dude knows how he's rolling,so please don't extol him more than any ordinary man out there |

Marvin67: I never understood what people meant whenever they said GEJ never loses a battle until I saw the outcome of the elections. The 2015 presidential election wasn't just a battle between GEJ and GMB, it was also a battle between GEJ and OBJ. Everyone who knows Nigeria well, knows that OBJ spent his time in office, trying to create a name for himself in Africa. Eventually, he left office and became one of Africa's most respected former leaders. GEJ however had more issues on his neck while he was Nigeria's president, and I'm sure he almost had no time to think of Africa. But after losing the elections, GEJ performed an act that made him leap frog OBJ to being one of Africa's greatest. His singular act of congratulating the winner, made the whole world and all of Africa respect him. In some quarters he's been described as the father of modern democracy in Nigeria.
Even the APC which I never thought would ever use the name Jonathan and commend in the same sentence has this to say through Alhaji Lai Mohammed by that singular act, which went a long way in dousing post-election tension, the President had snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. It also noted that Jonathan had written his name in gold in the annals of Nigeria’s history and catapulted himself to a statesman.
Also, Mo Ibrahim a man who has never said anything about OBJ had this to say about GEJ; Thank you Mr President. If you are seeking a legacy, you have definitely achieved it.” If GEJ eventually wins the Mo Ibrahim award for 2015, then he'd definitely be smiling all over Africa, far more than OBJ is smiling. When the UN, AU, Commonwealth, etc looks for an African democrat to use an example, they'd definitely use GEJ, while OBJ falls into the category of so many former presidents.
Lastly, as my warri friend said "who God don bless, God don bless, Jona no dey ever lose. Him lose Aso Rock, but him win Africa". Sound bites bro, sound effing bites |
Don't mind them. Many don't see anything good in another because they themselves are not good. We see life through lens shaped by our ideology and belief system of how life should be. You don't expect a dishonourable person to expect another is honourable. An Obasanjo who rigged elections and sought third term vehemently shouldn't be expected to think Jonathan will handover, hence all his pre-election lies and propaganda against the person of President Jonathan. Buhari contested election three times and three times he refused to accept the verdict of the elections. His appeal was upturned by the tribunal and yet he kept insisting that he won the elections. He wanted the world to believe the elections were marred with irregularities. Fourth time he contested and won, results in the stronghold areas follow the same pattern as they were in previous elections, cases of irregularities were recorded but because it favoured the President-elect, he raised no highbrow. isn't that a case of double standard? I really wish the President-elect the best of luck but I can't stop wondering: 'If he should lose a reelection bid come 2019, going by his antecedents, will he accept the verdict of electorate or hang on to cases of irregularities to refuse election result? Jonathan has done well. His simplicity that make many term him weak has become his strength. In the words of the gospel: 'God has indeed used the foolish things of the world to shame the wise'. I wish him well in his future endeavour and for the incoming President, I wish him success too. It is however too early to celebrate. Turning again to words of the gospel, I say to him: 'To whom much is repose, much is expected. Also, 'Any tree that fails to bear fruit shall be cut down and thrown to the fire'. Nigeria has won, Jonathan acceptance of defeat has saved the nation from crises. Let those who want to contest that continue. It is their right to do so. What they fail to see is that countries like Zimbabwe, Cote Devoire and many others are wishing now that their leaders are in the mold of Jonathan. A prophet, Jesus says is not honoured in his home town.
