Make we discuss this matter here. Does coronavirus actually kill as media paint it or is it as sinister as the media claim. Now let us face fact. We're going to crash our economy on a virus that has a 97% survival rate. Shut down the world because of this stupid virus because even Hiv/aids is still a senior virus to coronavirus The media has done their job. |
At midst of coronavirus crisis some Nigerians are using the opportunity to enrich themselves unjustly instead of being there for eachother. This happened in portharcourt Rivers state Nigeria waterslines junction. [Eyewitness] I went to buy fuel we were asked for bribe of N200 for each Gallon we wanted to fill, we protested against such ill service and they refused selling anything to us unless we pay the bribe for each gallon. I no the company never asked for such bribe but instead individuals and officers of the station decided to make earns out of the crisis. This is totally unfair both for the company that are fighting to protect their image especially in situations like and Nigerians in general already finding things difficult because of the sit at home issues. The deadly Coronavirus or COVID-19 was predicted by an article published by the Jehovah’s Witness, a religious group, 15 years ago, in its magazine, Awake! But the world ignored the warning. According to the article “The Next Global Epidemic, WHEN?” published in the December 22, 2005, edition of Awake!, the world was alerted that a pandemic virus might emerge in China or a nearby country in the future. It also warned that it might emanate from an animal and could surface from antigens or virulence factors derived from animal influenza viruses. The prediction, seen by some analysts as opportunistic, came two years after the end of another pandemic virus, the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak that started in November 2002. #covid19 Source: https://thickmatch.com/jehovah-witness-predicted-coronavirus-15-years-ago/

Now that Nigeria has had her first confirmed case of the Corona Virus infestation, via a citizen of Italy, who visited Lagos and Ogun states, I would want to offer my patriotic counsel to the government of General Muhammadu Buhari, on how best to tackle this issue. We must call upon our experience with the Wild Ebola Virus, of which we were the first nation in the world to defeat that scourge in 2014. How did Nigeria do it? We achieved it by showing unprecedented unity. The federal government of the day worked closely with the Lagos and Rivers state governments. There was complete unity, solidarity and oneness of purpose, which created the atmosphere that defeated that deadly infestation. I strongly counsel that any tendency to blame and point fighters must be temporarily, if not permanently, suspended. If fingers must be pointed, it must be to solutions. Nigeria needs firm and decisive actions to prevent an escalation of the scourge. Recently, we closed our borders as an act against economic sabotage. Perhaps now is the time to temporarily halt flights to and from any nation with a prevalence of this scourge. It is more important to secure human lives than to secure an economy. We also need to invest in early detection facilities at our airports. But above all, Nigeria must not panic. Whether at government or individual levels. We have defeated Ebola before, and we can defeat this present predicament. This crisis is an opportunity to show that we are first and foremost Nigerians and that we have no other country but our dear fatherland, which we must work together to keep healthy and secure. God bless Nigeria and her people. Source: https://thickmatch.com/coronavirus-atiku-reacts-confirmed-case-advices-buharis-government/

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the inaction of the Buhari administration on the spiraled wave of killings, banditry and kidnapping, particularly the Sunday carnage in Auno, Borno state, by insurgents, has left the nation with no other option than to hold that the Buhari Presidency has abandoned Nigerians. The party described as alarming that all the Buhari Presidency can offer in the face of the killings of our citizens are condolence statements with no decisive and significant action to track down the perpetrators and end insurgency in the country. The PDP said it is disheartening that instead of settling down at home and attending to the worsened insecurity under his watch, Mr. President and his officials are busy globetrotting. The party notes that in normal climes, with the situation in Auno, where insurgents viciously massacred our citizens, a concerned President would have immediately left everything, wherever he is, and return home in solidarity with our nation as well as the victims and lead from the front, in confronting the insurgents, in line with the demand of his office and the promise he made to Nigerians. But no! All the Buhari Presidency could do is to issue statements of condemnation, without a corresponding decisive action; thereby leaving the citizens at the mercy of insurgents, marauders and kidnappers. Indeed, what Nigerians want from the Presidency is a significant action and not press releases full of empty claims and worthless assurances. The PDP laments that despite the sustained killings, including the massacre of the last three weeks in Gamboru, Gwoza and Dikwa in Borno state, Tawari in Kogi state, Kulben in Plateau state, Gumni, in Zamfara as well as in Kaduna and Yobe states, the Buhari Presidency chose to continue to live in denial and self-praise, instead of taking any concrete action to end the carnage. It is shocking that in spite of the deteriorating situation, President Buhari has continued to shun demands by Nigerians including the National Assembly and other patriotic groups and individuals to rejig his security high command and inject new blood to effectively tackle the situation at hand. Our party holds that the manifest poor handling of security challenges of the country, as further manifested in the inaction on the Auno killings, has further raised apprehensions that the Buhari Presidency has laid down its amour and has no solutions to offer. The PDP however commends the courage of our gallant troops in the front and urge Nigerians to keep hope alive and not despair in the face of the failures of the Buhari Presidency, which holds a trophy as the most incompetent, divisive and negligent administration, which had also abdicated its duty, in the history of our nation. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, to perish the thoughts of further mortgaging the future of our country by securing $500 million dollars (N182 billion) loan, purportedly for upgrading of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).https://www.channelstv.com/2020/02/10/500m-loan-pdp-blasts-lai-mohammed-says-presidency-lending-to-satisfy-cabal/amp/
