SportsEsha Gupta Apologises For Racist Comment At Alex Iwobi (Photos) by mysportdab(op): 12:19pm On Jan 28, 2019
Bollywood actress and Arsenal ambassador Esha Gupta has apologised after a racist comment about Nigerian footballer Alex Iwobi.

Fans reacted as a snapshot of a WhatsApp conversation that Esha shared on her Instagram stories compared Iwobi to a gorilla.

The 33-year-old shared the screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation to her Instagram profile, which has 3.4 million followers.

"Solves our winger issues. I can't see that gorilla faced Iwobi runningdown the flank again.

"He's so bad ya," read the screenshot of her WhatsApp conversation with a friend.

To which, Esha replied, "Haha... I don't know why they don't bench him more."

And this did not go too well with Arsenal fans who slammed the actress for her "ignorance" and called her out for being "racist" despite having claimed she herself has been a victim in the past.

MySportDab report on Twitter, Esha has now apologised and claimed she did not realise it was racist.

"Guys I am sorry you thought it was racist. Was bad on my part, being asports lover. Sorry guys, forgive the stupidity. It was us discussing our frustration during the game. Sorry as I didn't realise it was directed towards racism. Laughed over the spur of the moment, which was the game's result guys. Been a victim of racism myself before. But this is not something I am proud of. It was a fault, sorry guys," Esha wrote.

SportsNovak Djokovic Defeats Rafael Nadal To Win 2019 Men's Australian Open (Photos) by mysportdab(op): 12:19pm On Jan 27, 2019
Novak Djokovic has won a record seventh Australian Open title and a third successive Grand Slam as he swept aside Rafael Nadal in Melbourne.

The Serb broke the Spaniard's serve five times - and was rarely troubled on his own - in a 6-3 6-2 6-3 victory.

Second seed Nadal, 32, looked rattled by the world number one's intensity and made 28 unforced errors.

Djokovic, 31, won in two hours and four minutes to move clear of six-time men's winners Roy Emerson and Roger Federer.

A forehand winner down the line brought up two championship points, Djokovic taking the second when Nadal clubbed a backhand long.

Djokovic fell to his knees after sealing another triumph on Rod Laver Arena, smacking the court with both hands and screaming towards the sky.

The reigning Wimbledon and US Open champion claimed his 15th Grand Slam title, moving him outright third ahead of American Pete Sampras in the all-time list, closing in on Switzerland's Federer (20) and Nadal (17).

SportsAS Monaco Confirm Thierry Henry Sack, Appoint Former Coach Leonardo Jardim! by mysportdab(op): 6:49am On Jan 26, 2019
AS Monaco have confirmed the sacking of Thierry Henry and reappointed Leonardo Jardim 106 days after he was sacked by the club.

Jardim was replaced by Thierry Henry in October, but the former Arsenal striker lasted just 20 matches and won only four of them.

As a consequence of Henry's poor results, Jardim returns to a club who sit 19th in the Ligue 1 table and his primary task will be to avoid relegation.

Jardim has signed a two-and-a-half contract which ties him to Monaco until the summer of 2021.

A statement from the club read: "We approached Leonardo Jardim with a proposal to return to AS Monaco, where he had already achieved excellent results over the course of four seasons. We have signed a contract for two and a half years.

"The mistakes made during the summer transfer window were taken into account, and this winter we have worked more thoroughly to strengthen the team. We have worked hard, and, as you are aware, new players have already joined us. The winter transfer window is not over yet and further new signings should not be ruled out.

"We hope that it is not too late to address the situation. We do believe thatour players will gain momentum and that, together with Leonardo Jardim as the manager, ASM will be able to overcome this crisis."

MySportDab report Monaco vice-president Vadim Vasilyev added: "Leonardo Jardim's time at AS Monaco, as I said when he departed, would be remembered as one of the brightest chapters in the club's history.

"Today we realise that the story of Leonardo Jardim at the club did not end as it was meant to. Leonardo should have been given an
opportunity to continue his job.

"Thierry Henry is a football legend but due to a very unfavourable mix of circumstances, including, above all, numerous injuries to our players, hampered him from quickly and effectively leading the team out of the crisis.

"I want to express my gratitude to Thierry Henry for accepting this challenge and trying to lead the team of his former club during such a difficult period."
