Not exactly. The cheapest flight I'm seeing there in Wakaniw for the date I want is 528k naira. And it's lufthansa and stopping at Heathrow. BA from Abuja to London to Glasgow is 545k

Hoping to use British Airways to travel to Glasgow in a couple of weeks. Flight fare (return) is about 940 dollars (385k naira official rate) I just realized I can't pay with my GTB mastercard and must use a dollar card.

Meanwhile funding a dollar card at black market rate (@580) will be over 545k naira.
Please anyone knows how I can pay this fare with official rate? Going to took at BA office in Abuja will it help?

I did Biometrics on the 21st of October in Abuja (Priority)

Received a Non straight forward mail on the 25th of October

Sent a paid email to UKVI on the 30th of October

Received an email about decision on 2nd November

Collected my visa via courier 5th November

Student visa valid till Jan 1st, 2026

It is instructive to note that I had an immigration problem with regards "overstaying" in the UK ten years ago, which ultimately carries a 10 year ban. I wasn't sure if I was effectively on a ten year ban or not but had to wait for 10 years to apply to enter the UK again. At some point I wasn't sure what to expect of the outcome, thats why this outcome is a super relief for me and a shot at second chance.

I am grateful to everyone here whose inputs I learnt from and believe more testimonies will come out from here.

Off to Glasgow in a couple of weeks.

I bagged my bachelor's in Engineering as well in University of Greenwich years back, trust we got same academia identities. Strathclyde is one of the best Universities in UK in terms of Engineering education but pretty expensive for average earners. So which career are the up to?

I honestly doubted your claims. However, I understand that each UK universities has their admission rules and offers regulations. Having said that, I urged you to come out with evidence of those who have collected their CAS from university without presenting 28days financial statements. Cheers!

I got my CAS without 28 days financial statement. University of Strathclyde.

When I did my MSc in Greenwich too many years ago, I didn't need to submit POF for CAS either

My passport with the visa was delivered to me this afternoon by DHL as I opted for the courier delivery. It took 8 weeks for me to get a decision on my application. Regardless, it ended in praise. Thanks to everyone who has been making this forum super-informative and lively too. Special thanks to @tutu89 or so and other gurus in the house for the support while I was packaging my application.

Documents submitted were:

Application form.
Bank statements (2 personal and 1 business)
Cover letter explaining some deposits that weren’t covered by receipts and also addressing my initial refusal.
Previous US & Schengen visas and Schengen residence and work permits
Business registration documents
Property documents (real and personal)
Family pictures
Kids’ birth certificates and tuition fees receipts
Professional certificates, both local and foreign.

Above all, just put God first while covering every loophole. I had fears about my company’s status showing “inactive” on CAC’s website but aside that, nothing else. However, it later turned out that much weight may not be attached to it after all, maybe depending on who handles the application.

It's not an approval per se. Just a notification from tls that a decision has now been made on my visa application and I will be able to collect my passport at tls centre

Hmm. Did you pay for priority or standard? If you were refused, it would be in the email and an attachment too giving reasons for the refusal. Be of good cheer. All will be well.

There is an option to reschedule on the tls website under your account. I did same last month. It was hassle free

Baba, I got this same email this morning. Saw it around 11am. Can you confirm if it's a visa collection or refusal? I opted for courier service, so I have to wait a couple of more days I guess to know for sure.

Is there anyone here who is using or has used TETFund as sponsor for phd or MSc? I'm asking because I've gotten a NSF email, and was wondering if it's because they want to reach out to TETFund to confirm the sponsorship and if I have to reach to TETFund to alert them that they will be contacted.
