Titanic was built with a double bottom but not a double hull. It had watertight bulkheads, but they didn't all go all the way to the top of the hull. This omission doomed the ship when it the huge iceberg causing it to take in water faster than it should and sunk in less than 3hrs...

Bad engineering and poor technology of observing iceberg from far away sunk the titanic, also ba :-Xd decision to equip the ship with only a few life boats caused too many casualties
