https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ocsYWdnwPnE After reading and watching the news of the attack on some Ebonyi State villages which left many dead by suspected Fulani militia, I remembered there was a video that was once shared on this platform barely a month ago in which a herdsman can be seen warning Ebonyi indigenes on the impending doom that was to befall them. According to this herdsman in the video, the host communities have been attacking the fulani settlers and feel the quietness of the fulani is a sign of weakness. Though there have been calls for a retaliation. The fulani herdsman says they intend to wait till the news of what they have been going through in the hands of the Ebonyi villagers go round Nigeria before they take a decision on what to do. He goes further to warn the villagers that those who have witnessed a fulani fight in the past pray not to witness such again because of the brutality of such fights. According to him, not even America or the Nigerian government to save them from the wrath of the avenging militia whenever they decide to strike back. What git my attention was when the fulani herdsman told the Ebonyi people to be weary anytime they notice that herdsmen have evacuated their communities. True to his statement, and according to Ebonyi State governor David Umahi who later visited the crime scene, “And so, it is very shocking that overnight, all the herdsmen in Ishielu local government vaccated the council area which means that the local herdsmen in Ishielu are part of the conspiracy in killing of our people. They vacated despite all efforts my government, the governors of south east and security agencies have been making to protect them." Let me not bore you with long epistle.....
