In an undated Instalive video, Mimie narrated a scary dream she had on a previous night. She said she saw herself gasping for air and screaming for help, with people around her looking in confused faces.

Iharare reported that eyewitnesses who spoke to national broadcaster ZBC News said Mimie was in the car when it ignited flames. It was also alleged that cries for help could be heard as they got burnt beyond recognition, but bystanders couldn’t help out for fear of the fire that sealed the fate of the four who were in the car.



Before her death, the video vixen announced her engagement on October 20. She was however coy and tight-lipped about revealing the identity of the man who "took her off the market". Mimie however posted a video flaunting her diamond-encrusted engagement ring on Instagram.

Nigeria Police Force operatives on Saturday arrested Eromosele Peter Adene, one of the promoters of #EndSARS protests.

It was gathered that the Edo State-born graduate of Computer Engineering was arrested at his residence in Lagos and taken to the Commissioner of Police’s office where he was forced to write a statement.

The Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, on Tuesday, said authorities of the nation’s correctional centres are rejecting new suspects due to non-compliance with the COVID-19 protocols.

The Senate has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to address the nation as the #EndSARS and anti-police brutality protests surge nationwide.

The upper legislative chamber in its resolution Monday also directed police authorities to provide security for protesters in order to prevent criminals from hijacking the peaceful demonstration.

The resolution followed a motion moved by Senator Biodun Olujimi on the need for a comprehensive reform of the police, which was endorsed by 103 senators.

The Senate Minority Leader Enyinnaya Abaribe, in his submission, stated that the presidential address will show the required concern from the government and prove to the enraged protesters that their demands are being listened to by their leaders.

“A Judicial Panel of Enquiry in the mode of the ones being set up in the states, should also be set up by the President for thorough investigation of acts of brutality carried out by the notorious SARS operatives”, Sen. Abaribe added.

He also stated that the thirty five police officers identified by a presidential panel to have perpetrated heinous crimes against citizens should be prosecuted accordingly.

The red chamber appealed to protesters to halt their agitation on the streets while the Federal Government intensifies steps to implement the five demands of the #EndSARS movement.

The lawmakers also called on the police and other securities agencies to operate strictly in accordance with the rules of engagement appropriate to a democratic environment and desist from the use of brutal force against peaceful protesters.

I won’t sign 2021 budget without provisions for
SARS’ victims – Gbajabiamila

Speaker, House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila on Tuesday said he would not sign the 2021 budget if the appropriation bill does not make provision for families of victims of SARS brutality.

Speaking during the House’s plenary on Tuesday, the Speaker said the police were not above the law and that they must be accountable to the people.

In his words: “I will not sign off on a 2021 budget that does not have adequate provisions to compensate those who have suffered violence from police in the last decade.”

He said he would be leading a delegation of lawmakers to pay condolence visits to families of some of those killed by the police, stressing that they would be honoured after the visit.

According to him, the National Assembly would establish a system of citizen-led accountability for the Nigerian Police Force because in a democracy the nation sets out to build, the police were not above the citizenry.

Gbajabiamila added that the police were servants of the people and not above the law, but guardians, saying that as the government endeavoured to hold the nation’s police to higher standards of professional conducts, they must also make sure they provided for the welfare of the men and women in uniform.

He appealed to #EndSARS protesters to be cautious in handling the matter, saying that they should not let their righteous cause be hijacked and brought the nation to its kneels, saying that this was the time to move their agitation from the streets.

The miscreants who were protesting against the blockade of the Apo mechanic village road by #EndSARS protesters on Monday, went berserk and attacked passersby before torching the vehicles.

About seven vehicles were burnt down during the violence which also left some individuals injured.

The FCT police spokesperson, ASP Mariam Yusuf, confirmed the incident, adding that investigation has commenced.

#EndSARS protesters are currently inside Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

The protesters in their hundreds are preventing movement in and out of the busiest airport in the country.

Since the protest began 11 days ago, this is the first time that the protesters would disrupt activities inside the airport.

They have been blocking roads around the airport, worsening the traffic logjam in Ikeja and its environs but this is the first time that protesters will march into the airport..
Many passengers were stranded inside one of the halls at the airport.

A group of Nigerians who claim to be the Indigenous People of Abuja has given a 48-hour ultimatum to #EndSARS protesters to vacate the roads or have them to contend with.



The group stormed the police headquarters in Abuja earlier today October 19 with a petition letter to the Inspector General of Police, Adamu Mohammed.



They called on the police chief to ask the protesters to vacate the road within 48 hours or they will "engage them." According to their leader, anyone who wishes to protest should go to his or her ''mother's house''.
