What number did you call pls?
I got an email this morning an need to verify
Dedayo:
This is unbelievable. Absolutely unacceptable. She has the temerity to laugh at you because this probably has been going on for so long, no one has complained for fear of being victimised, and she's probably always gotten away with it. Funny I spoke with someone as well today and I found the conversation...weird. He kept asking to be patient as the visa may be issued before my scheduled travel date. At some point I had to tell him he was not listening to me. I do not have the luxury of being patient. I am scheduled to travel for work and at this point just want to collect my passport. He finally said to call back again tomorrow. I'm not sure what will be different tomorrow.

I guess we got ourselves to this level. Suffering and smiling.

They’ve finally replied my email now( after 10 days SMDH), they said visa was approved and “may” be ready for pick up tomorrow.
I am so relieved. Best of luck in getting yours also.

What can we do? This is so unfair. I called the embassy today again and the lady even had the nerves to laugh and also told me that they’ll reply my mail eventually.
The people responsible for replying emails also do not answer calls.
This is so crazy, I am just looking for an email address of someone I can escalate to.

Dedayo:
I'm in the same boat. I have called, emailed and tracked my passport - all futile. I have requested for guidance on the withdrawal process, still no update. I am happy to make changes to my holiday plans. I just need my passport to travel for work. This lack of clarity and uncertainty cannot be right.

Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by MzYemie(f): 1:57pm On Nov 27, 2018
I don’t even care for the visa anymore at this point in time.
I just need to get the passport out. I’m just frustrated.

djfrancis:

We are kind of in the same boat. Mine is immigrant visa tho and I was approved but same status and they keep saying check email and ceac site. The best thing is to just calm down.
Travel / Re: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by MzYemie(f): 9:24am On Nov 27, 2018
Hello All,
Pls has anyone successfully called for and retrieved his/her passport from the US embassy?
Submitted via Dropbox since October 31st for my daughter and all the update I see when I check is application received.
We need to travel to another country urgently and I have sent mails repeatedly to LagosNIV but got no response for over a week now, I’m at my wits end. Any leads will be appreciated.

Yes it's needed when traveling to Europe , It isn't required for US travel.

Thanks for your advice, I've decided against them anyway as their baggage allowance is just 1 pic of 23kg and none for infants(it's a Hell No from me). These European airline are usually quite pricey comparatively though.

rigel1:

I strongly suggest that you be careful with an Middle Eastern / Arab Nation airline. This may just be a temporary thing, but with Oga Trump you just never know - if possible, fly the European airlines!

Hello house,

Please has anyone used Egypt air recently? What's their baggage allowance for adults , children and infants as I am getting conflicting info on their website and wakanow.. Abeg o
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by MzYemie(f): 9:34am On Oct 31, 2016
No, just the 23 kg checked in bag and 1 diaper bag. The car seat base will be checked in with car seat and stroller for free, they will be wrapped in nylon so it won't get lost in transit.
ifyadajesus:
. Thanks does it mean baby is entitled tob,3 bags as well, one 23/kg one carry one and a diaper bag
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by MzYemie(f): 10:02pm On Oct 30, 2016
Hellodear,
It's 23kg check in baggage, carry on diaper bag. Beware they are very strict with carryon baggage allowance of 7kg for adults (they showed me pepper. Be prepared to carry your baby in your hands in Dubai for the long trek to the gates as they won't give you your baby stroller in Dubai and babies are too young for that airport stroller (I wish someone told me this as I would have bought baby carrier, imagine struggling with diaper bag, hand luggage and baby in my hands).
ifyadajesus:
Hello house glad to be part of this thread 5. Pls has anyone used emirates back to Nigeria.. Pls what's the baggage space for baby

I got PTA from Access bank as prepaid dollar card and had zero issues, theirs had daily limit of 1k and charge of$3 per use which means you withdraw 4 different days, so I bought money order from post office,Kroger etc of $995 and paid into my Bank of America account or collected cash from the BoA atm $500 and$480 on the same day.

YoungMetrosG:

Please if your PTA has ever been loaded unto prepaid dollar cards, kindly let me know if you were able to use it seamlessly or if you had any issues.

Now to put my feet up and wait for my travel date. Will share transcripts then. Thanks for all the info on here, everyone. God bless us and this journey we're on or about to go on. Praying for more good news all around. Amen.

I'm yet to birth at Methodist. Yea I took my tests results to Dr D, he still charged me $270 regardless of the fact that I did most of the test(the 270 is a flat fee), you also pay separately for the scan which is 150(not covered by his cap fee).
Heard he has another package where CS is 8k and Vag 6500 for delivery at Methodist

debby516:
Pls, can any recent mum who birthed at Methodist Sugarland share a breakdown of her hospital fees, pls. I am getting conflicting quotes and figures. Also, for those who used Dr. Dama, did u take along ur tests results or all tests and ultrasound done by the Dr. was covered by his cap fee. Thank you.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 4 by MzYemie(f): 3:53am On Aug 26, 2016
I'm interested in this response because he informed me I'd be paying that for surgical assistant being a Csection delivery. I'm mega pissed about it and he claims it's Methodist that insists on it but if the delivery is at Oakbend one doesn't pay the 300.

ifyadajesus:
. Hello did you use Dr dama ziwortrin and method hospital if yes did pay additional 300 dollars for the assistant

Yay !!! Congrats dear.

[quote author=asikiye post=48262262]Currently reporting from IAH. Just landed. POE was a breeze although the man wanted to form asking plenty questions. Below is my transcript:
Once he sights me with my very big top the questions begin:
Me: Hi(while smiling)
CBP: hi, where are you from?
Me: Nigeria( his demeanor changed)
CBP: why are you in the United States
Me: still smiling, I say to have my baby
CBP: why are all Nigerians coming here to have thier baby:
Me: I don't know about others but I am here for the better healthcare.
CBP: everyone says better healthcare.
Me: I had complications with my first baby in Nigeria, so the 2nd one I had him here. I enjoyed the experience so am back for my 3rd.
CBP: everyone says they have complications in Nigeria. Don't people have babies there anymore? So you want your babies to be Americans. That means you plan to move here in the future.
Me: I don't know what the future holds but what I know is that it's their decision if they plan to move here. While saying all these, my smile is broad o. And I'm looking calm.
CBP: you said you had your last baby here:
Me: Before he could finish, I have my folder of receipts on his table.
CBP: how much cash do you have on you?
Me: $5,000. I brought it out and placed on his table plus my Dr correspondence showing my total and how much I

1 million likes for this. I tire o, he should know know when he can't handle more patients based on EDDs, CS schedules etc. Not fair to the patient at all, childbirth is an emotional experience, it'd like to see my Dr that I paid for present when I'm having my baby

firsttymum:
Yer Yer we get people are lazy...
But my own ish with Dr F is why he can't say he's fully booked.
Most Dr's have a "diary" where dey enter scheduled CS, induction etc. Some have secretaries that help with this.. Incase of emergency he politely tells the patient he has an emergency and wld explain to the patient why he has to send a replacement and try to b with d patient as soon as possible. I mean it's not like these women give birth and leave the hospital the next minute.

Let's leave laziness, empathy, medical ethics and whatnot... I'm talking about courtesy. This is life... LIFE.. There's no spare. Where's the care for patient that's preached?
If he's overwhelmed let him say it.
If he's not careful he'll be taught a lesson that'll cost him his license...

That's crazy and quite unprofessional. If my HMO dr sef does this in Naija I'd be so livid not to talk of one that I'm paying my hard earned dollars. Thank God I listened to my instincts and didn't settle for him. I hope Dr D doesn't pull this akin yeye stunt.

[quote author=greatie post=48209207]
He passed me on to another doctor for me to be induced. I went in last week thursday I dint dilate from thursday to saturday. I had to opt for Csection by 3pm satday cos my hospital stay was almost over. Dr F never called or find out how I was doing only for me to see him at the reception on monday morning, asked him why he dint check up on me he said "I just heard about u last night" shocked shocked. Last night kwa? Your own patient??
I really don't know why he has good reviews here. Honestly that guy is an error!
Those of u that are yet to use him beware.
