You are without brain... You think Russia can actually use nuclear bombs in Ukraine, a close door neighbour? Fish brain trained by mosquito brains
It was more of an analogy. This is a public forum and everyone can have different opinions. If you want to argue do so without belittling yourself by resolving to insults. Insulting people online because you are trying to pass across your point makes you seem illbred. I won't lower myself to your level by responding with the same energy. Do have a nice day.

Aptly put. Now go upgrade your intelligence. You need it badly
Only poorly educated fellows stoop this low online by resolving to the use of vituperatives while arguing with a person. You must be so emotional and agitated right now, you should drink cold water to calm your nerves.

You are clearly not a smart cookie.

First you tried to refute my assertion that EV sales surpassed diesel vehicle sales and when you are shown facts you switch goalposts by saying people are still buying diesel vehicles.

DID YOU NOT GO TO SCHOOL?

What I said was that EV sales SURPASSED sale of diesel vehicles and not that the sale of diesel vehicles have stopped!

Every Car manufacturer publishes their sales data at certain points as this would help build up investor confidence and sustain or improve their stock prices since they are all publicly traded.

Asking how they were supplied with their sales records in this time and age of the 21st century simply shows YOU ARE INDEED NOT A SMART COOKIE
I grew up as a maiden in the village and you can tell that I have never seen the four walls of a school. I am typing this from my hut in the middle of the jungle Mr "Smart Cookie".

What rubbish are you saying ma ?
When America nuked Japan it was to end a world war which claimed the lives of millions and the move was supported by all the allies countries.
Secondly, Ukraine is an independent country whose president was elected by the majority so how does that translate to him being neo nazis?
Thirdly, Russia claimed it invaded Ukraine because it was planning on joining NATO, what gives Russia the right to invade another country because it plans on protecting its national interest. You lots are blinded by your hate for the west.
There is no justification for what America did in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Even the late Nobel laureate and former president of South Africa Nelson Mandela said so. Many prolific politicians have also condemned the act as inhuman on the part of America who bombed the cities even after Japan had made steps towards reconciliation.

Also the Americans bombed the cities to show the world their power and the kind of devastation they are capable of. Besides it was to serve as a deterrence to the now defunct USSR.

Finally I don't hate the west, I am just saying it as it is.

One thing I am very good at is information acquisition because I read up on anything and everything.

Attached is the answer and proof to your comment in bold. If I am right with that then I am right with the rest because right now you are clearly not speaking factually but merely speculating while I speak undiluted facts
This does not mean anything because people are still using diesel vehicles. Why don't they just close down all filling stations? After publishing the article which you posted as fact, why did they not publish that filling stations are already closing up? Because according to them the purchase of electric cars by their citizens have supplanted that of diesel vehicles. Besides did they do a car census in each city or did the electric car companies supply them with their sales records?
Foreign AffairsRe: $300 Billion: Russia Reveals Exact Amount Of Reserves Frozen By West by nahr(op):

Sales of EVs as at 2021 overtook sales of diesel vehicles.

India is working on acquiring 3million Electric buses by 2024

USA has signed the bill for 500,000 Electric charging stations across the country (this means a massive push away from fossil driven vehicles by end of 2025)

EU is shutting down Oil purchase from Russia by end of 2022.

Do the math. Na die Russia dey
EU shutting down oil purchase from Russia by 2022 doesn't mean that they won't still rely on Russian allies like Venezuela and Saudi for oil. I read that the Arabians are not willing to pander to the drum beats of the west. Also India will not stop its oil purchase for a very long time even if they have 3 billion electric buses. I don't believe that sale of evs have taken over diesel vehicles. Many sport cars still use fuel, aeroplanes use fuel, many factories need fuel for production, a lot of houses still need fuel for heating.

The level of unification of Europe and other nations against Russia is unprecedented. This will be their downfall. The west will not suffer that much in the face of cleaner and alternative sources of energy. Already the world is aggressively moving away from Fossil fuels so Russia would eventually have to drink their oil and puff their gas
EU is an example of surface level unification, there is a lot going on beneath that we don't know . Each country fights for its own interest. Talking about clean energy, it is going to take a lot of years to perfect it, a lot of machineries still require oil to function. It is going to take decades for them to achieve that goal.

U might be correct... I believe majority Were in support.. and that actually silenced the minority...

I believe the Russian Economists were muted as well... If not, they would have explained to the citizens what is coming...

They will start feeling the impacts of these sanctions in a year or two years to come... it's not dawned on them yet.. embarassed
I think it has dawned on them but the thing is there are still other countries doing business with Russia. Also, local companies are going to have the immediate needs of the citizens met and Russia is self sufficient enough to produce the basics for her citizens.

They have all suspended operations. And russians are majority of those who work in those businesses. So what's tit for tat here?
The west will encounter difficulties in seeking new business partners. Just recently USA approached Venezuela one of their sanctioned countries for oil. Think about it, isn't that going to give the estranged country an upper hand? Also Venezuela is a Russia ally, indirectly they are still doing business with Russia as the country has oil reserves in Venezuela.

By the time the effects of these sanctions reached their peaks, Russia would have been sent back 50 years economically with little or no chance of recovery until the next 50 years.

Putin will likely regret this....

Economic sanctions crashed USSR.
I know it did but this time around the west will feel the heat too, there is no clear winner in this conflict. Even though it might be said that Russia is in a deep financial mess presently we can't conclusively say that this will be the downfall of the country.

They are now shamelessly asking China for help.
Help to fight the same Ukraine they were supposed to overrun in two days!
I don't think that this is the goal. If Russia had gone Hiroshima on Ukraine the way America did to Japan then, you wouldn't be typing this. Things would have been too disastrous. So far I think russia's aim is to capture the said neo nazis and demilitarize the country without incurring a lot of civilian casualties.

Is Russia really a democratic country?... Sometimes we need to double-check it again to be sure.... Because it sounds like a country ruled by the military...

Is the citizens actually in support of what is going on... All the travel ban imposed on them by most countries, freezing of international accounts/closing of corporation... social media etc... Do they really like that?....

If they don't like it and the country is truly a democratic country, what is stopping them from speaking up to defend their country from economic/ financial collapse.. Just wondering.. embarassed

You will be surprised to know that majority of them are in support of their president's actions. They believe that the west is transgressing.

Present day

I stand in front of the house wrapped in a yellow raincoat, beads of rain dripping down my body pooling at my feet. The rusty big black gate hangs loosely on its hinges swinging inwards revealing the rot and state of decay the house is in. I take in a deep breath as I walk inside stepping gingerly over a log of wood abandoned at the gate. I had earlier walked in the pouring rain which is now falling lightly in drizzles. The neighborhood children are kicking an old ball in the empty yard in front of the house not minding the rain. They pause their play and look at the strange woman entering the derelict house their mothers always warned them about.

I look around the house conscious of the little faces peeping at me from outside the gaping windows. I take off my raincoat shaking off the water shivering slightly as cold breeze envelopes me. Dressed in a knee length black gown my petite frame is drowned in the vast emptiness of the room. My short brown braids are thankfully dry and I adjust the band holding them together at the back of my head. Suddenly the rain starts falling again, with shouts of joy the children scamper and run towards the direction of the nearest house for shelter leaving me to myself.

The rain finds its way through the yawning roof and starts gathering rapidly into a puddle. I see a long forgotten plastic chair in a corner of the room where the roofing is slightly intact and sit down. Reaching into the bag on my lap, I bring out a black nylon containing boiled groundnuts and a bottle of water. I untie the nylon and crack open the nut popping the salty seeds in my mouth. Chewing slowly I remember everything as if it happened yesterday, my mind reeling and going back in time. The rain serving as a barrier shields me from the outside world.

Hi everyone, this is my first time posting my work here. Although this is not the first story I have written so far, I know that I still have a lot to learn therefore any constructive criticism is welcomed. Thank you!

Trigger warning : Suicide, rape and abortion.

This is a fictional work and any resemblance to any person dead or alive is purely coincidental.

Russia reveals exact amount of reserves frozen by West

The latest sanctions imposed on Russia over its military offensive in Ukraine have frozen about half of the country’s gold and foreign exchange reserves, according to Finance Minister Anton Siluanov.

“We have a total amount of reserves of about $640 billion, about $300 billion of reserves are now in a state in which we cannot use them,” he said in an interview with state TV channel Rossiya 1 on Sunday.
