Its funny that most of you are underestimating Ekwunife. We've forgotten that she's being backed by Orji Uzor Kalu as well. I wonder who can out maneuver an orji kalu/ Chris Uba combination in Nigeria naw. Chris Uba has a PhD in rigging elections, while Orji specializes in cutting deals and securing last minute wins. Watch out for a repeat of PPA Imo elections suprise in Anambara. |
16 yr old is too young, why not have patience with her for another 2 yrs. |

Exactly! So I said. |
I guess i don tire to dey respond |
@Negro_Ntns Great Post with well thought out facts. But the widespread belief is that the iranians knew that a radical(Reagan) had just won the election and that was why they hurriedly released the hostages. Carter didnt do so much. Today the iranians are holding 3 americans(even though u dont hear it publicly). They couldnt have done that under Bush. Why?, because they knew how he would respond. Sometimes u need peace through strength rather than strength through peace. |
@Negro_Ntns I just wished the nobel price commitee had 'sweet talked' the terrorists away from attacking the world center or even attacking their fellow european countries like britain and spain; may be we wouldn't have had any reason to fight back as we did in afghanistan and iraq. How come no one blames the terrorists for attacking the US and other countries? Why must you blame the victim(Bush and the US) for deciding not look the other way as clinton always did? Why is it a crime to take the fight to the enemy who has killed 3 thousand of ya citizens? |
I'm good at debating the issue. I dont even mind being attacked personally, as long as i keep putting out my arguements on the issue. This na naija thread and naija will always be naija, wey be say u must demonize the other side(LOL). As for me and my household, we'll keep arguing based on the issues. |
@Pres-elect Now i know that u dont know your history even a bit. You rely so much on the nonsense that cnn tells you. Just because Bush went down to work, instead of constantly attacking his predicessor at every chance he gets, like obama has always done, does not mean that he did not inherit any problem. This shows you he,bush was more of an experience leader and problem solver, (as he was a former governor), than obama. That Clinton left a recession for Bush, is a statement of fact and not an opinion. Go back and do your research. Just read this link and be wise http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Early_2000s_recession. Please, do not rely exclusively on this link(just as you've always relied on wolf blitzer and other left wing loons in cnn), do more of your own research about the recession Bush inherited. How about the huge security mess he also inherited?; a mess that certainly led to 9-11. |
@ Pres-elect Reagan fought the cold war even before goubacheff came in. He defeated the evil sovian empire and got it replaced with a modern arrangment starting from yeltsin. If averting the cold war with ussr aint liberation or peace , i wonder what else is, considering the fact that soviet nuclear weapons were capable of wiping the entire world away. |
@MUZBO and Pres-elect May I remind both of you that Amwar Sadat flew to Telaviv on his own to make peace with israel. The event at the rose garden white house that u referred to, was just a photo-op I very much remember the then King of saudi and the entire arab praying to God for his plane to crash while he was flying to Israel. (I've never ceased to laugh so laud whenever i remeber the events of the late 70s). Sadat gave up because Israel had beaten the holy shit out of egypt and was almost encircling the sinai mountain and other strategic parts of egypt. This goes along way to butress my point that sometimes u can only achieve peace through stength. Trying to sweet talk your enemies like alqaeda, the taliban or iran into changing their behaviour, is highly laughable. This is one of the major problems i have with obama. U have to be ready to use force if it is absolutely neccessary. There was a reason why the iranians released the hostages in the early 80s. That was because a new radical had just been sworn in in the white house and that was why they hurriedly released them because reagan was set to decapitate and oblitrate iran. There's a reason why the terrorists never attacked america while bush was in office. That was because they were guaran-damn-teed of Bush's response if they dared it. Remember they attacked US and US interests almost on quarterly basis during clinton administation. After living america with 14% unemployment, double digits inflation, long lines at the gas station, and projected weakness before the world, how can u claim Gimmy carter , who also left office with 18% approval rating lower than what nancy pelosi currently has, is deserving of any award? Bush rescued america from clinton's recession, rescued america from clinton's OBLaden, rescued america from clinton induced 9-11, gave america the lowest unemployment levels of 4% in 2007, kept terrorists out of north america, gave women and children and opportunity to live in both iraq and afghanistan, made america stronger and more alert, gave africa the highest level of funds and help any living human being today had ever done, etc. I sure believe either bush or morgan tshangarai should have been given the award. |
@MUZBO Actually i'm the biggest obama fan dat u can get in the entire black race. I actually voted for him. I dont know about you. Come to think of it, if someone like Gimmy carter(I mean, are u kidding me?), the worst US president alive, could get the award or Al gore, getting the award for promoting the biggest hoax and falsehood of the millenium and for consistently trashing his country abroad, are evidence to the fact that the biggest criteria for getting the award is that you must either be anti-american or a far left loon just as paul krugman was before he got the award. Do you think they would have given the award to a black conservative president with the same aspirations as Obamas'?, hell no! Bush, a war monger? Ridiculous statement. That shows me that u not only watches CNN and BBC but also MSNBC. Bush liberated women and children in iraq and afghanistan, and gets no praise, but obama goes around and trashes his own country, and gets honored(LOLOLOL) What a world! |
@ MUZBO and RADIANT Of course. These days you would have to be either a far left loon like al gore and US worst president so far, gimmy carter to win the award. I mean, why would bush be proud of associating humself with someone like gimmy carter or algore who mainly makes money trashing his country abroad? Carter left office with an 18% approval rating. Bush left with a 40% approval. With some one like arafat having received the award, u can immagine the mentality of the anti american norwagians deciding these awards. Ronald regan liberates eastern europe of more than 80 million people through his dipolmacy against gubachef and gets no award; Bush liberates 50 million muslems in iraq and afghanistans and gets no award. But obama goes abroad insulting america and telling the whole world how america stinks, and then he gets award for it(LOLOLOLOL). That shows u the mentality of the norwagians. Check out his latest approval and see why americans are outraged over this nonsense: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll. To the right hand side of the website and see why republicans are waiting to sweep house in 2010. |
@PRES-ELECT U still missed the point. How could he had made all these 'extraordinary efforts' that u alluded to under 12 days into his admisnistration? Remember he was nominated in feb, barely 11 or 12 days after his swearing in. All those other guys u mentioned had spent considerable amount of time on their positions trying to make those impacts. I strongly believe they gave it to him, just because he is not Bush, period. They chose aspirations over accomplishments and it makes a mockery of the nobel peace award. |
@MUZBO I really laughed when i read ya sentence that taking the war to the terrorists is not the solution. I guess the solution is by allowing the terrorists to bring the war to us,so dat we can always be on the defence; LOL |
@TAYO-D I say GBAM!. I concur. |
@ MUZBO Even though i dont agree with most of ure arguements, I sincerely respect your point of view. I so much enjoy chatting with people like u who argue based on points and issues rather than calling others names. A bottle of beer for that(LOL) |
@MUZBO You also missed the point. You' re under the presumption that Bush hated Muslims, these are the major headlines u'll read and hear in CNN, BBC and MSNBC. I've consistently listened to Bush's remarks about Islam and he's just right on the point that Islam is a noble and peaceful religion. You also assume that Muslems hates Bush/America, I put it to you that that is absolutely not true. I have tens of muslem friends who tells me that the nonesense that Al Jazeera puts on air is mainly fuelling the fire and that they're sincerely happy with Bush for giving women and children the opportunity to live again in iraq and Afganistan. Your strength through peace thesis didnt work under Clinton. In fact the last time I checked, America has liberated more muslims than any other religious worshippers----going from their liberation of muslims in kosovo, first gulf war(where they stopped a tyrant from killing fellow muslems), 2nd gulf war and then Afganistan(where women were not even allowed to show their face let alone go to school) If by policy, u presume that the attacks on america were mainly precipitated by america's support of israel, then u're definitely being naive. If u think it is because of the iraq or afghan war, then ure obviously wrong because america wasnt there prior to 9-11. These are monsters who wants to ensure than women dont get education, people's hands and heads are cut off for petty reasons, enthrone a singular religion and kill innocent people for no obvious reason. For me the best way to deal with them is to return their heartlessness and wickedness with bruth force, even though bush didnt go to such length. Trying to sweet talk them into changing their beliefs as Obama naively thinks he can do, is simply laughable. Come to think of it, most muslim countries receive the largest share of America's yearly grants. Countries like egypt, indonesia, algeria, afghanistan, kuwait, kososvo, nigeria, pakistan, laos, karzistan, chad, yemen, qatar, etc are all either muslim countries or have high muslim population and all benefits from america's magnanimity running into billions of dollars. Now. if giving charitable developmental grants to these countries is not a good foreign policy, I wonder wat else is. The idea that we should disregard these positive aspects of help and focus on a few miscreants that aims to create harvoc on the world based on the false belief that they will be rewarded with 90 virgins in heaven, is just ridiculous. |
@Mandingo I totally refuse to play this tried and failed race card that u're using. I know in your world, it is a crime for someone to say his/her mind, backed with facts, especially if what is being said is not in line with your belief. I just will not play this race card, I'm above it. I've decided to side with Martin Luther King that 'we should judge someone based on the content of his character and not from the color of his skin'. |
@Radiant Oh come on, u stop talking like a child and sounding ridiculous. Was it not under Bush that America had the lowest unemployment rate in 30 years of under 4.6% in 2007? Was it not under Bush that seniors started enjoying free health care benefits and prescription drugs? Was it not under Bush that 50 million Moslems in Iraq and Afganistan were liberated, even though someone like u feels the Taliban should still be governing the Afghans and Sadam Hussein, still hanging his own people. Was it not under Bush that a bill was sent to the democrat contolled congress in 2007 to regulate the financial institutions so as to avert this financial calamity that later befell the world, and your current pres, Obama, joined nacy pelosi and other democrats to defeat the bill(and they are naw blaming bush for the financial melt down). Did clinton not go to war? He fought 2 wars(kososvo and cold war with borris yeltson of russia), read ya history. I hate it when people argue without regard to the facts. Did Bush not inherit OBLaden from Clinton? Wat did Clinton do to capture and kill the man when he had him encircled? He decided to look the other way. How many times was America and America's intererst attacked under Clinton? More than 6 times--- the first world trade center bombing in Feb 23 1993, Kohbar tower bombing in 1995, Oklahoma city bombing april 19, 1995; US embassy Nairobi kenya and dares salem tanzania bombing Aug 7, 1998(2 bombings in a day); USS cole navy destroyer bombing on oct 12, 2000, and many other terror attacks on US during clinton, including the planning of the 9-11. What did clinton do to stop them? Nothing. Absolutely nothing, just because he wanted to be seen as the darling of the europeans, who wants a weaker america; and this weakness certainly led to 9-11 by terrorists who miscalculated and thought that Bush was another weak Clinton. In going to war, bush decided to put a stop at these terro attacks. That was why neither america nor america's interests were attacked under his admin after 9-11, unlike wat obtained under clinton. Do you know how much Bush gave to africa and african hospitals while in office? Has there been any man alive today who did even up to half of wat bush did for africa. Go to TANZANIA, ghana, ethiopia, benin, sierra leone(pple that manage grants well) and see how many lives bush saved because of his HIV initiative for africa. Do you know how many factories he helped set up there? Go to nigerian hospitals and ask them how they manage to get the expensive retroviral HIV meds and you'll understand wat I'm saying. Of course Bush wouldnt have had any reason for war if Clinton had done his job well. I laugh at times when i hear some people talk about the economy under clinton. If the conservatives and republicans hadnt kept him in check and on numerous occassions stopped him from raising taxes on americans, do u think clinton would have succeeded. Please, read your history and stop beign deceived by CNN and BBC |
@Radiant If fighting terrorism wouldnt bring peace, I wonder what else it would bring. If enthroning democracy wouldnt bring peace, I wonder what else it would lead to. How can you award such prestigious (now highly ridiculous) honour to a man who has just spent barely 12 days in office? Remember the nominations ended feb. 1 and so, he hasnt even done anything yet as at when he was nominated. To use the word 'ridiculous', would certainly be an understatement. |
@IYKE-D You got your timeline wrong. Morgan Tshangarai was sworn in while G.W. Bush was in power, before Obama even won the election. I strongly believe that either he or G.W Bush should have gotten the award, Bush, at least for going after terrorrists and fighting terrorism, something that Clinton shyed away from. |
