SportsRonaldo Becomes Oldest Player To Score 100 Goals In Premier League History by naijaclass(op): 9:37am On Apr 24, 2022
Cristiano Ronaldo has become the fourth player in Premier League history to score 100 goals for Manchester United.
His landmark strike came against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, 7,042 days after he opened his EPL account in a 3-0 win over Portsmouth back in 2003.

Ronaldo's 100th Premier League goal came in his 223rd appearance in the competition.

United's other Premier League centurions are Ryan Giggs (114), Paul Scholes (107), Wayne Rooney (183) - all of whom played significantly more Premier League games.

FamilyHusband Caught Having Sex With His Maid Just Hours After His Wife Gave Birth by naijaclass(op): 10:45pm On Apr 21, 2022
A man was nabbed having sex with his maid only moments after his wife put to bed and was in the hospital recovering, a Twitter user tells.

According to the tweep, the man’s wife reportedly went into labour on Thursday, April 14 and gave birth on Friday, April 15, following 27 hours of intense labour.

On Saturday, April 16, the husband left his wife at the hospital, explaining that he had some business to handle.

On the same day, the newborn baby’s godmother, who is also the new mother’s neighbour, was sent to their family’s house to bring some supplies for the new mum.

However, when she got to the house, she discovered the husband was having sex with their housemaid. The godmother took to Twitter to narrate the incident, insisting she caught the husband in the act.

She stated particularly that that she is not into Twitter dramas and so, wouldn’t cook up a story.

Jesus! I just walked in on my neighbor's husband having sex with their maid while his wife is in the hospital. This woman just gave birth yesterday and I literally came to pick stuff to take to her in the hospital. I'm broken, I don't even know how to handle this.

His wife literally went through a 27 hours labour, coupled with several days of pain and this is how he repays her.
I'm in the car crying, I don't know what to do.

They actually left the flat front door open, imagine how comfortable they felt to leave the door open while making out in his matrimonial bed. This is painful.

I'm not even into twitter dramas and have no strength for silly comments but I'm just going to answer some questions here.

The husband was in the hospital with his wife on Friday when she gave birth. The labour was a long one and it was understandable that he was tired and needed to go home for rest that Friday night. He said he would come back the same night but I volunteered to stay with her for the night. Yesterday morning around past 10 her older sister arrived.

The husband brought the sister to the hospital and left "to run some business related errands" which was okay since the sister was around then I left to freshen up and sleep with the promise to come back in the evening. I was called to grab somethings for her from home while coming back because she believed her husband wasn't even home.

In the evening, I got ready to go back to the hospital (I'm actually the godmother a promise the mother made in exchange for all my fruits she ate during the pregnancy ) when I saw the front door open, I thought the maid left it open and walked in (I've always been )

when I got to the sitting room, I heard funny sounds and sincerely thought the maid brought someone into their house and their room. I was pissed and wanted to see for myself. I could never have imagined that it's the man. Well, I told the sister and we agreed to wait until the doctor clears her and she gets discharged. Whatever happens, it's her call but I was never going to conceal such secret from someone who considers me a sister.

Mind you, she went into labour on Thursday but gave birth on Friday evening. It was a bumpy ride but God was Faithful.

SportsMan United, Arsenal Or Tottenham - Who Will Win The Race For The Fourth Spot? by naijaclass(op): 2:45pm On Apr 21, 2022
Three Premier League giants are vying for the fourth spot...

Tottenham are currently holding on to the fourth place with 57 points from 32 matches. With six matches left, the simple equation for them would be to win all the matches and keep that spot to themselves. Antonio Conte's men have a positive goal difference of 18, while Arsenal and Manchester United have 10 and four respectively. So if they are tied with Arsenal or United on points for the fourth spot they will still hold on to their fourth place.

Their six remaining fixtures are against Brentford, Leicester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Burnley and Norwich City.

United are currently in the sixth spot with 54 points from 33 matches. They can reach a maximum of 69 points from this position. So to get to the fourth spot, Tottenham and Arsenal must not get more than 12 points from their six remaining fixtures. Beating Arsenal will help them in their quest when they face each other on April 23 at the Emirates Stadium. However, they have the poorest goal difference (+4) amongst the three teams which is another concern for Cristiano Ronaldo and co.

Their five remaining fixtures are against Arsenal, Chelsea, Brentford, Brighton, and Crystal Palace respectively.

Arsenal's 4-2 win against Chelsea on Thursday gives them a major boost in their top-four aspirations. They are level on points with Tottenham but are behind on goal difference. However, if they beat Tottenham on May 13 and win the rest of the matches as well then they can seal the fourth spot.

Their remaining fixtures are against Manchester United, West ham, Leeds United, Tottenham, Newcastle United, and Everton respectively.

West Ham are currently placed in the seventh spot with 52 points from 33 matches. Even if they win all their remaining matches they have to hope that the results of the other three teams go in their favour. Tottenham and Arsenal must not get more than 10 points from six matches, whereas United must not pick up more than 13 points from their remaining fixtures. Moreover, they are the third-best amongst these four teams in goal difference which is another concern for David Moyes.

Their remaining fixtures are against Chelsea, Arsenal, Norwich City, Manchester City, and Brighton respectively.

Lady calls out her newly-wedded husband for allegedly deceiving her into marrying him

Two months after their wedding, a lady has called out her husband, Emmanuel Egba, for allegedly deceiving her into marrying him.

The lady, identified as Oladimeji Oluwatosin, revealed they got married on February 19, 2022, at First East Circular road, in Benin City, Edo State.

According to her, “We dated for six months and he said he wanted to get married. He deceived me into marrying him because we are Witnesses and we believe once we get married we can't divorce, except on the ground of adultery.

He borrowed money to show off, pretended that he was rich and came for my hand in marriage. My family and I agreed because he was acting all nice.

When we were preparing for the wedding he lied that his company was owing him N11million. So my family took the responsibility of the wedding, did everything, only for me to get to his house and find out he has been lying to me all along.

He promised to open a tailoring shop for me but he couldn’t even feed me, talk more of opening the shop. I told him I was going to tell the elders in our congregation and he thre#tened to k#ll me because he knew he would be disfellowship.

He even locked me in the bathroom one day and I was screaming for help, luckily for me his neighbors came to my rescue. I left his house that day.

Ladies that want to get married now should please make thorough research before they get married.”

SportsHow Many Children Does Cristiano Ronaldo Have & Who Are The Respective Mothers? by naijaclass(op): 6:36am On Apr 20, 2022
The intimate life of Cristiano Ronaldo and his children has an extensive history, although many details have not been revealed for safety for the descendants of the Manchester United player, however, if you have record of them and more because CR7 boasts them in their social networks.
Who are Cristiano Ronaldo's children?

Cristiano Ronaldo has a total of five children, since this Monday, April 18, one more girl was born for the family. However, this birth was accompanied by sad news, after the twin brother of the newborn, did not have the opportunity to live, after a complicated birth suffered by CR7's partner, Georgina Rodriguez.

"With our deepest sadness we have to announce the passing of our son. It is the greatest pain that a parent can feel" announced through a statement on social networks, Cristiano Ronaldo.

On the other hand, the other children of the Portuguese star are Cristiano Jr, Eva, Mateo and Alana.

Cristiano Jr. is the oldest of them, being 12 years old and is even part of the Manchester United youth team, where he has already scored goals and celebrated in the style of his father.

Cristiano Ronaldo's firstborn was born on July 4, 2010, in the state of California, through a surrogate pregnancy. The identity of the mother is confidential, since the Portuguese agreed with her to keep everything confidential, in addition to Cristiano Jr. would be under her guardianship.

After the birth of Ronaldo's first child, in 2017 it was again made known that he became a father again through the same artificial insemination process and this time twins Eva and Mateo were born. The identity of the mother was not revealed and they were also left in the care of Real Madrid's top scorer.

During that same year and while he had been in a relationship with Georgina Rodríguez for more than a year, Cristiano Ronaldo formalized his union with the Spaniard when he announced that she was pregnant. By November of that same 2017, Alana was born and the Portuguese announced it with a selfie with Cristiano Jr. and Georgina after the birth.

#2 Free-kicks
This is quite an interesting point because Cristiano Ronaldo, during his first stint at Manchester United, had burgeoned into one of the best free-kick takers in the world. He popularized the 'knuckleball' technique and was pretty good at scoring from direct free-kicks even during his early days at Real Madrid.

But Ronaldo's free-kick powers have waned since then. Meanwhile, Lionel Messi added free-kicks to his skillset quite later on in his career. He has since gone on to become one of the best free-kick takers in the world. He possesses immaculate technique and is quite reliable as well.

Between 2009 and 2011, Ronaldo scored 21 direct free-kicks while Messi scored just three. But between 2017 and 2019, Messi scored 23 direct free-kicks while Ronaldo scored just five.

Although Ronaldo does fire one in occasionally these days like he did against Norwich City on March 16, he is unlikely to get better at it than Messi at this stage in his career.

2 things Cristiano Ronaldo cannot do better than Lionel Messi
#1 Playmaking
Lionel Messi is a product of Barcelona's famed academy 'La Masia'. The Catalans are renowned for producing some of the finest footballers of the modern era. Messi is more of a well-rounded footballer than Ronaldo as his playmaking skills are pretty much on par with his goalscoring ability.

In 805 appearances across all competitions in his club career, Messi has picked up 315 assists. Meanwhile, Ronaldo has provided 231 assists in 929 appearances across all competitions. Ronaldo has always been a bit more of a goalscorer while Messi has excelled at both.

Their stats from this season underscores the same. In 28 appearances across all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain so far this term, Messi has scored eight goals and provided 13 assists. Ronaldo has scored 21 goals and provided just three assists in 35 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils so far this season.

#3 Penalties
Cristiano Ronaldo has scored 143 penalties in his career. He has missed just 29. At the same time, Lionel Messi has converted 102 from the spot but he has missed 30. The Portuguese legend's penalty conversion rate is 83% while the Argentine's is 77%.

While Messi is pretty dependable from the spot, Ronaldo has just been better.

#2 Coming up clutch for his teams
The sheer number of times Cristiano Ronaldo has taken a game by the scruff of its neck and single-handedly won them for his side is simply incredible. His record in the UEFA Champions League reflects his ability to come up clutch and produce moments of magic for his teams.

Let's take some of his performances from this season for example. Ronaldo produced multiple decisive performances and scored several match-winning goals for Manchester United in the Champions League group stages. He has also scored seven match-winning goals in the Premier League this term.

Ronaldo has also scored two hat-tricks in the league this season and both came in games that United won 3-2. His final goal in both those games proved to be the one that got the Red Devils the win.

#1 Headers
Let's start off with an obvious one. Once Cristiano Ronaldo started to lose a yard of pace, he could no longer wreak havoc down the flanks like he used to in his prime. He decided to adapt and evolve into more of a goalscorer and executed that plan to perfection.

One of Ronaldo's main motivators in this regard is his heading ability, which is quite important for a number nine. The Manchester United forward has one of the best leaps in football and he has left us astounded by the sheer height he climbs to meet the ball in the air.

Messi has scored just 24 headed goals in his club career. Ronaldo has scored 105.

Sports3 Things Ronaldo Does Better Than Messi (and 2 Things He Doesn't) by naijaclass(op): 6:43pm On Apr 17, 2022
The Cristiano Ronaldo - Lionel Messi debate is one that will rage on for eternity. These are two players who have been in a league of their own and were a cut above the rest during their prime years.
Lionel Messi has managed to outdo Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of Ballon d'Or wins, having picked up seven as opposed to the latter who has won five. But Ronaldo has cemented his legacy as the greatest goalscorer in the history of the sport and continues to produce magical moments for his teams regularly.

Trying to figure out who is the better player between the two is a pretty futile exercise at this point. Both players have their own qualities and are unrivaled in a lot of aspects.

On that note, let's take a look at three things Cristiano Ronaldo does better than Messi and two things he can't.

SportsCristiano Ronaldo 'earns £850,000 Bonus After Hat-trick Against Norwich by naijaclass(op): 7:41am On Apr 17, 2022
Cristiano Ronaldo will receive a bonus of £850,000 following his hat-trick in Manchester United's 3-2 win against Norwich.
According to The Sun, Ronaldo triggered a bonus-related clause in his contract after reaching 21 goals for the season.

Ronaldo's contract includes a £750,000 bonus for reaching 20 goals plus a further £100,000 for his hat-trick strike.

Ronaldo will now receive £100,000 for each further goal he scores in the remainder of this season.

United will also pay their top scorer this season £1million and Ronaldo seems almost certain to achieve that accolade given that he is 12 goals ahead of his closest challenger Bruno Fernandes.

Furthermore, Ronaldo would receive around £2.75million in total payments if he manages to reach 30 goals this season.
Although he has received some criticism at times since returning to United last year, Ronaldo is playing a major part as he looks to keep his team's hopes of finishing in the top four alive.

Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in the win against Tottenham last month and he repeated the feat against Norwich at Old Trafford on Saturday.
In the seventh minute Ronaldo opened the scoring with a tap-in, and he proceeded to make it 2-0 with a header. Norwich managed to pull level as Kieran Dowell and Teemu Pukki scored but Ronaldo secured all three points for United with a free-kick.

The result saw United move up to fifth place, three points adrift of Tottenham. United now face two important away fixtures against Liverpool and Arsenal.

SportsMan United Call The Police As Furious Fans Arrive At Their Training Ground by naijaclass(op): 8:42pm On Apr 15, 2022
Dozens of Manchester United fans have descended on the club's Carrington training ground to protest against the Glazer family's ownership.
Banners reading 'Glazers out' and 'Disgrace - Not fit to wear the shirt' were held up outside the gates to the complex, with United beefing up security in anticipation and calling in police.

The demonstration on Friday lunchtime appears to be a precursor to a larger anti-Glazer protest planned for Old Trafford ahead of the Premier League match with Norwich City on Saturday.

Police dog handlers were dispatched to Carrington and the protest was dispersed.

Following another seriously underwhelming season on the pitch, which means five years without a trophy for United, fans are planning a fresh attempt to force out the club's unpopular American owners.

An abusive sign was left outside Carrington for United's players in the wake of last Saturday's 1-0 defeat to Everton, which left them a lowly seventh in the Premier League, some six points off the top four.

It read: 'Embarrassing s**tbags. Not fit to wear the shirt get out of our club!'

A supporter group called The 1958 have organised a protest march against the Glazers that will end at Old Trafford before kick-off against Norwich.
They are calling on demonstrators to remain outside the ground for the first 17 minutes of the match to mark the Glazer family's 17-year ownership.

Plans have been posted on social media and retweeted several thousand times with a message declaring: 'Nothing will change unless the head of the snake is removed. It's rotten and starts from the top down like any business. The club's a mess so we need to act and raise awareness again.'

It's a year ago this month since United's role in the doomed European Super League sparked an angry backlash against the Glazers.
A small number of fans stormed Carrington and many more then broke into Old Trafford following a mass protest before a behind-closed-doors game against Liverpool, forcing the fixture to be postponed.

Chairman Joel Glazer subsequently apologised over the ESL fiasco and has since tried to engage with the fanbase.

He has appeared at fans' forums, and a supporters' advisory board has been set up. A fan share scheme is still being discussed, but the latest protests suggest that the bridge building has not been entirely successful.
'This isn't another Liverpool,' the statement from The 1958 continued. 'We believe this was a one-off unique event.

'This is the start of the constant, relentless, peaceful and legal protests and actions against our owners.

'We know the challenges ahead of us and we will not waver or detract from these goals.'

CrimeANGER AND EMOTION- Meet 31-year-old Police Officer Called Dan From Kenya. by naijaclass(op): 1:38pm On Apr 15, 2022
Meet 31-year-old police officer called Dan from Kenya. He was not born with this frightening appearance. What you see is a result of a normal argument he had with his wife.

One day, Dan and his wife had an argument about a house issue. He says it seemed a normal argument like any married couple and later left for work. He had a night shift so he came back home the day after at 05:30 am and went straight to the bed to have some sleep.

This is the moment his wife chose to come and pour acid solution on his face. Then she ran away. But it was not enough for her to spoil his face, she also acted so that he couldn't escape the bedroom. She had poured water on the floor and connected it to electricity. As soon as Dan stepped on the floor, he was electrocuted.

He screamed so loud for help before his neighbours came and found him in his despair. They rushed him to hospital and luckily his life was saved, but unfortunately not his eyes. Dan permanently lost his sight and now completely blind.

His wife was arrested, then released later on bail. He says he forgave her but he is not going to abandon the charges against her. He only met her at the court and all she said was that she doesn't know why she did what she did.

This is how a random conversation with a simple disagreement can lead to tragedy. He adds that every single day he lives is a struggle. All because someone could not manage her anger and emotions. Dan is just one of the many men that have suffered extreme domestic violence.

SportsA Tribute To Anderson, Manchester United’s Cult Hero And Great Showman by naijaclass(op): 11:31am On Apr 14, 2022
It's easy to forget that, before joining Manchester United, Anderson was regarded as one of the brightest young talents in world football.
With hindsight, that acclaim may seem absurd, but at the time it made sense. After all, this was a player who had won the Golden Ball at the Under-17 World Cup and become a teenage sensation for Gremio.

It wasn't long before Anderson started receiving interest from outside of Brazil, and in 2006 he earned a move to Europe with Porto.

After being given the No.10 shirt, Anderson quickly began to show why he was so highly rated: he was an excellent dribbler with an eye for goal and brilliant passing range.

His rise was complete when the teenager made his Champions League debut in September, but a month later he broke his leg just as his career was getting up and running.

However, he had still done enough to attract the attention of some of the biggest clubs from across Europe, and links with Real Madrid and Chelsea began to emerge. But it was Manchester United who acted first.

Sir Alex Ferguson's brother Martin had watched the talented Brazilian in action and returned to Manchester with a glowing scouting report.

Sir Alex said: “When his recovery was over, I sent Martin over to watch him in every game for four or five weeks. Martin said, 'Alex, he's better than Rooney!'

“'For Christ's sake, don't say that'. “He'll need to be good to be better than Rooney'.

“Martin was adamant.”

Ferguson didn't hesitate and wasted no time in bringing the promising midfielder to Old Trafford for £27million in 2007, and Anderson now had the chance to prove himself on an even bigger stage.

The Golden Boy

During his debut season, Anderson showed early signs of promise in a Red Devils shirt, and he was tipped to be the natural replacement for an ageing Paul Scholes.

And he quickly endeared himself to the Manchester United supporters with his style of play. Never afraid to showcase his skills, he loved to entertain fans with his technical ability, but he also had the pace, strength and energy to take players on and drive through midfield.

His standout performances in his debut season saw him outplay Cesc Fabregas and frustrate Steven Gerrard. United looked to have unearthed another star.

The midfielder had slowly settled into English football and made an impressive 38 appearances for the club in 2007-08 as United won the Premier League and reached the Champions League final.

Anderson found himself on the bench for the final against Chelsea, but he was brought on as a substitute in extra time as the game headed to a penalty shoot-out. Less than a year after making his big move to England, he stood in the pouring Moscow rain waiting to take United's sixth penalty in the biggest club game in the world.

While many 20-year-old's would crumble under the pressure, Anderson stood over the ball with the confidence of a man 10 years his senior and fired it past Petr Cech.

After Van Der Sar saved Anelka's spot-kick, United, and Anderson, were European Champions. His first season had become the stuff of dreams.

Anderson's form even saw him win the prestigious Golden Boy award in 2008, following in the footsteps of Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero.

He continued to develop in his second season as he starred against Arsenal in the Champions League semi-final before starting against Barcelona in Roma.

Anderson had the world at his feet, seemingly destined to become one of the best midfielders in the world.

But things didn't quite work out as planned.

Injury nightmare

After a successful first two seasons at Old Trafford, Anderson began to suffer with niggling injuries and later had a knee ligament injury that ended his season prematurely.

And as he struggled to get back to full fitness, questions were raised about his work ethic and attitude with people mocking him about his weight.

“He was very talented, was Anderson,” Michael Owen told SportsJOE. “Without being too general, he'd have that Brazilian attitude. He was a pretty relaxed guy. Maybe too relaxed at times.

“He loved being out there with a ball at his feet but he did not bother about weights, or anything really. Him getting back from injuries was often a slow process.

“He was a really good player but if he had that driven mentality, he could have been great.”

When Anderson eventually returned, his importance to the United team had waned, and his early promise and reputation now seemed like a distant memory.

However, Anderson looked to have turned things around and re-established himself at the beginning of the 2011-12 season, and he started for United in their 8-2 win over Arsenal.

“I don’t think I saw one of our players make a mistake that day. After we’d scored six, I started to take the piss with the ball. The manager had to take me off,” Anderson later recalled in an interview with The Athletic.

“The boy is a fantastic talent. We expect him to be a key player this season. He has a good football knowledge. He understands the game very well. He has made tremendous improvement, and he is going to get a lot better,” said Sir Alex Ferguson.

“He scored four goals for us last season, and if he gets eight or nine next season, it would a huge asset because the football side is very good indeed.”

However, injuries struck once more and Anderson found himself on the sidelines again.

The joker

Sir Alex Ferguson was known for being ruthless with players who didn't match his high standards, but he clearly had a soft spot for Anderson.

Much of it was surely due to his personality. His injury problems would have disheartened most footballers, but Anderson was still a happy-go-lucky character who always had a smile on his face.

It was clear that he was loving every minute of his time in England. And that joyful exuberance ensured he became an incredibly popular figure in the dressing room and eventually a cult hero among United's fans.

They may remember his penalty against Chelsea and performances against Arsenal, but it was his off the field antics and general tomfoolery that became the defining memories of his career.

Anderson had gone from a world-class talent to a lovable scamp whose faults you could always forgive.

However, following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement in 2013 the writing was on the wall for Anderson.

David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal quickly ran out of patience with the midfielder, and he made his last appearance for United in their 4-0 defeat to MK Dons before being sold in 2015.

Anderson may have won four Premier League titles and a Champions League medal, but he only played 181 times for United over eight seasons and for various reasons was rarely a fixture in their midfield.

He left United at what should have been the peak of his career but at 26 he found himself playing for Internacional in Brazil.

After a spell with Turkish outfit Adana Demirspor, the former Golden Boy has now retired from football with his reputation in tatters.

Still, he might not have reached the heights that he should have done with United, but he was always entertaining. And that's how his career should be remembered.

5. Demark’s 1992 Euro win
Denmark finished runners-up in their qualification group behind Yugoslavia and had seemingly missed out on making it to the tournament. However, Yugoslavia was under political turmoil as civil war raged across the nation, which ultimately ended with the country breaking up.

The Yugoslavian team were disqualified from the tournament and the Danes, as the group runners-up, were called up to fill in. They were given barely 10 days notice to form a squad and sort out the logistics.

They started off the tournament with a draw and a loss, and needed a win in their final group game vs France. The Danes pulled off an upset 2-1 victory. They followed it up with another upset, defeating favorites Netherlands in a penalty shootout after initially drawing 2-2.

They came up against a formidable Germany in the Final. Peter Schmeichel made multiple saves to keep Denmark in the game. The Danish side defeated the Germans 2-0.

This fairytale victory meant Denmark were the only team till date to win a major international tournament without having qualified for it. This is another football record that is unlikely to be repeated.

4. Dejan Stankovic’s World Cup football record
The former Inter Milan star holds a football record made possible only by the kind of geopolitical turmoil that is rare nowadays.

As a young midfielder, he appeared for the Yugoslavia football team in the 1998 FIFA World Cup at the age of 20. They were knocked out in the Round of 16, and it was the team’s final appearance at a World Cup.

In 2003, years after the country broke up, the old Yugoslavian team ceased to exist. Many new teams, including Serbia & Montenegro, emerged and carried on.

The team qualified for the 2006 World Cup and Stankovic was in the squad as the captain. As the tournament was happening, Serbia and Montenegro was divided into two separate countries.

Four years later, Stankovic was on the plane to South Africa as the captain of the Serbian football team. They were met with a group stage exit.

However, captain Stankovic wrote his name in the history books, having played for three different countries in three editions of the World Cup. He remains the only player to do so, and it looks like he will be the only one with this football record for a long time.

3. Almoez Ali’s global scoring record

Qatar striker Almoez Ali may not be a familiar name, but he holds a football record that, in all likelihood, will never be broken or matched. He is the first and only player to score in three different intercontinental national tournaments.

His team, Qatar, plays in the AFC region and he scored a record nine goals in the 2019 AFC Asian Cup. Qatar was also invited to play in the 2019 Copa America in Argentina, where Ali was the only Qatari player to score in three group stage games.

Qatar was also invited to play the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2021 as a result of a strategic partnership between CONCACAF and AFC. The Asian country went to the semi-finals and Ali scored four goals.

His strike against Panama in Qatar’s first group stage game etched his name in the history books. His football record will be incredibly hard to match.

Countries playing in two continental tournaments is not that unfamiliar, as Copa America regularly invites guest teams. However, three different continental tournaments seems like a reach for any nation in the future. It will be very difficult for a player to remain consistent enough to match Ali’s football record.

2. Chelsea’s European Double

Chelsea won the 2012 Champions League in what many consider to be a surprise victory. They defeated Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties in the Final.

However, their outing in the next edition of the UCL did not go to plan. The Blues finished third in their group, behind Juventus and Shakhtar Donetsk.

This meant that they would drop to the UEFA Europa League. In Europe’s second division, they went on a great run that saw them ultimately face Benfica in the Final.

In the Final that took place on May 15, 2013, the Blues defeated Benfica 2-1 after Branislav Ivanovic scored a stoppage-time header.

The Champions League Final was still 10 days away, which meant Chelsea were still technically the reigning UCL champions at the time. This made the Blues the first and only team to simultaneously hold both the Champions League and the Europa League titles. For 10 days, Chelsea enjoyed this status.

It only ended when Bayern Munich lifted the UCL on May 25, 2013, and became the new champions of Europe.

This football record might be impossible to match since it is unheard of for any UCL-winning giants to drop into the UEL.

1. Richie De Laet’s double title
On Saturday, May 7, 2016, Richie De Laet probably had the happiest day of his career. The Belgian defender won the Championship title with Middlesbrough, whom he had joined on loan in the January 2016 transfer window.

On the same day, a few hundred kilometers away, his parent club Leicester City were celebrating their legendary Premier League title. They were handed the trophy after defeating Everton 3-1.

De Laet made 12 appearances for the Foxes before leaving on loan. This meant he met the minimum requirements needed to officially receive a league winner’s medal. According to ESPN, the defender drove down to Leicester after celebrating with Boro at their stadium and then joined his former club's celebrations.

He thus holds the record of being the only player to win a second division title and a first division title in the same season. To top it off, he received both medals on the same day as well. It seems unlikely that he will be joined anytime soon in the club of players to have achieved such a double.

"Records are meant to be broken" is a phrase used quite often and it applies to many a football record as well. The careers of the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi indicate that almost no record is safe in football.
Be it Ronaldo’s 807 (and counting) career goals or Messi’s seven Ballons d’Or, both look intimidating and will not be broken shortly.

Some football records are unique and probably even more difficult to break, for a myriad of reasons. This article will look at five such records.
SportsMartial ‘dumped By Wife After He Cheated On Her While She Was Pregnant’ by naijaclass(op): 12:59pm On Apr 10, 2022
Manchester United's Anthony Martial has been dumped by his wife after he cheated on her while she was pregnant.
The forward's spouse Melanie Da Cruz, 30, told fans online that “love wasn't enough,”adding:"Sometimes to win a race you have to stop running.”

She did not give fans a reason for the end of their three-year marriage.

Martial, 26, who is on loan to Sevilla, bedded French model Malika Semichi while Melanie was eight-months pregnant in 2019.

A source told the Daily Star Sunday: “Things aren’t going brilliantly for Martial on the pitch and it looks like life at home has been rocky too.

"Melanie’s statement came as a shock to her fans and it’s probably the icing on the cake after a bad few months for Anthony.
“They've had their struggles. All they care about going forward is the well-being of their son and raising him amicably.”

In December 2018 we told how the footballer sent sex texts to Semichi behind his pregnant girlfriend's back.

The Man Utd footballer met the French model at a Paris nightclub where they danced and exchanged details.

The next day Malika started receiving X-rated messages and pictures apparently taken at The Lowry hotel, Manchester.
Malika said:"To start with it was just innocent stuff like 'how are you doing'and silly selfies.

“But then he started asking more and more personal questions. He seemed really into me.

“I knew he had a girlfriend with a baby on the way, but I just tried to put it to the back of my mind.”

Martial hit back on social media after the story appeared in The Sun, writing:"There will always be bad people, jealous in this world who will be ready to tell lots of bulls**t to be able to exist but thanks to God I know on which way I go with the best by my side."
But it was later claimed that the pair romped in a £70-per-night two-star hotel in Paris a week after they met in a night club.

Martial's baby was born just weeks after the alleged fling in July.

SportsUEFA Announce New 'sustainability Regulations' To Replace FFP System by naijaclass(op): 10:32pm On Apr 07, 2022
The UEFA Executive Committee today approved the new UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Sustainability Regulations at its meeting in Nyon.
The regulations are the first major reform of UEFA's finance regulations since they were first introduced in 2010.

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin said:

"UEFA's first financial regulations, introduced in 2010, served its primary purpose. They helped pull European football finances back from the brink and revolutionised how European football clubs are run. However, the evolution of the football industry, alongside the inevitable financial effects of the pandemic, has shown the need for wholesale reform and new financial sustainability regulations.

"UEFA has worked together with its stakeholders across European football to develop these new measures to help the clubs to address these new challenges. These regulations will help us protect the game and prepare it for any potential future shock while encouraging rational investments and building a more sustainable future for the game."

Given their name, it is no surprise that the key objective of the new regulations is to achieve financial sustainability. These will be achieved through three key pillars: solvency, stability, and cost control.

For solvency, the new no overdue payables (towards football clubs, employees, social/tax authorities, and UEFA) rule will ensure better protection of creditors. Controls will be performed every quarter and there will be less tolerance towards late payers.

The new football earnings requirements are an evolution of the existing break-even requirements and will bring greater ability to club finances. To ease the implementation for clubs, the calculation of football earnings is similar to the calculation of the break-even result. While the acceptable deviation has increased from €30 million over three years to €60 million over three years, requirements to ensure the fair value of transactions, to improve the clubs' balance sheet, and to reduce debts have been significantly strengthened.

The biggest innovation in the new regulations will be the introduction of a squad cost rule to bring better cost control in relation to player wages and transfer costs. The regulation limits spending on wages, transfers, and agent fees to 70% of club revenue. Assessments will be performed on a timely basis and breaches will result in pre-defined financial penalties and sporting measures.

The new regulations will come into force in June 2022. There will be gradual implementation over three years to allow clubs the necessary time to adapt.
The new 'Financial Sustainability and Club Licensing Regulations (FSCLR)' will limit spending on wages, transfers and agent fees to 70 per cent of a club's revenue - with that figure reached after a three-year gradual change.

The old FFP regulations were devised in 2010 by UEFA's Financial Control Panel under Michel Platini and Gianni Infantino, and the European Club Association initially appealed against its introduction.

It was designed to stop European clubs from spending beyond their means and eliminate financial doping form the game. At present, clubs are allowed to spend up to €5m (£4m) more than they bring in across a three-year period.

But rules allowed them to go over that amount - to a limit of €30m (£25m) - if the excess was covered in full by the club's owner or a related party.

The new rules are designed to try to achieve a form of competitive balance and greater sustainability for clubs but still provide a built-in advantage to the richest clubs rather than narrowing the gap.

UEFA had been exploring salary caps, but their legality under European law was questioned.

Teams over-spending could now be relegated within UEFA's competitions, from the Champions League to the Europa League and the third-tier Europa Conference League.
