Sports / Eriksen Messaged Inter's Whatsapp Group, Says CEO Marotta by naijaclass(m): 3:58pm On Jun 13, 2021 |
Christian Eriksen has been in contact with his Inter team-mates as he recovers from a worrying collapse in Denmark's Euro 2020 opener against Finland, the club's CEO Giuseppe Marotta has said. There were troubling scenes when Eriksen slumped to the ground with no one around him just before half-time of the Group B fixture in Copenhagen, with team-mates forming a protective circle around him as medical personnel rushed to his aid. Eriksen stable in hospital after collapse UEFA initially confirmed the fixture was suspended but a positive update from the Denmark Football Union later confirmed Eriksen was conscious and receiving further treatment in hospital. The match would later resume, with Finland securing a 1-0 win in their first ever major tournament match, a result that was understandably overshadowed by the concerning events. "Eriksen himself sent a message in our internal chat" The world of football rallied around in their support of Eriksen, and Marotta offered further good news by revealing the former Tottenham star had messaged Inter's group chat on messaging service WhatsApp. "We watched the images on TV that suggested something dramatic was happening, which unfortunately we have also seen on Italian pitches before," Marotta told Rai Sport, in quotes translated by Football Italia. "The players are very close and we all immediately communicated with each other after seeing those images. We didn't want to be invasive and so tried to respect his [recovery] once we had been reassured. "I can only say that 10 minutes ago Eriksen himself sent a message in our internal chat and this confirms the bond between the players." Asked if he had an update on Eriksen's condition, Marotta added: "We're optimistic about Christian's condition, Denmark's staff told us that the situation is under control. "I cannot enter into the merits, the player is under the control of the Danish national team. The best thing I can tell is that Eriksen responded positively, the intervention of [Simon] Kjaer and the doctors was very important." Denmark doctor discusses on-pitch treatment given to Eriksen Denmark team doctor Morten Boesen spoke about the incident with Danish newspaper B.T. saying: "We were called on the pitch when Christian fell over. "I did not get to see it, but it soon became clear that he had fallen over. When we got there, he was lying on his side and was breathing. "We felt the pulse, but pretty quickly the picture changed, and then we started life-saving heart treatment."

Sports / FIFA Agree To Look At Moving The World Cup To Every TWO YEARS Possibility by naijaclass(m): 3:17pm On May 22, 2021 |
FIFA agree to look at moving the World Cup to every TWO YEARS possibility Holding the World Cup every two years is to be investigated by FIFA in an attempt to spread the wealth of the global game – and in a challenge to the financial might of UEFA. The annual FIFA Congress voted in favour of a proposal on Friday to investigate the feasibility of staging the men’s and women’s competitions biennially, rather than every four years, as it is now. The idea was put forward by the president of the Saudi Arabia football federation Yasser Al Misehal, who suggested it was crucial for the global development of the game. FIFA Congress has approved a proposal to look into moving the World Cup to every two years Earlier, the 211 football federation representatives had heard FIFA president Gianni Infantino raise concerns over the ‘financial and sporting disparities’ in the global game – and the dominance of European football. ‘We have to look at everything to make football truly global,’ he said, highlighting that the world’s top 20 clubs are from just five European countries and that World Cups from the semi-finals onwards are dominated by just two confederations – Europe and South America – out of six. ‘It is going into more imbalance, not more balance,’ said Infantino. The FIFA president’s repeated emphasis on the need for a truly global game set the scene for Al Misehal’s proposal, which Infantino described as ‘eloquent’. FIFA president Gianni Infantino told the Congress fans want international football as well as domestic games And the Saudi contribution was immediately endorsed by the Confederation of African Football. ‘It is time to review how the global game is structured and consider what is best for the future of our sport. This should include whether the four-year cycle remains the optimum basis for how football is managed both from a competition and commercial perspective as well as overall football development. ‘It is proposed that a decision is taken by the FIFA Congress to mandate and inform a feasibility study on what impact of playing the FIFA men’s World Cup and FIFA Women’s World Cup every two years could be and how this could feature within a revised international match calendar.’ Al Misehal said the study would have to be wide-ranging and look at the impact of the qualification tournaments as well as the finals themselves all associations and confederations. Infantino insisted changes were needed in order to make the game ‘truly global’ World Cups are the main source of income for FIFA, making up the lion’s share of £3.3 billion of revenue it expects to earn in the current four-year financial cycle, which ends with the competition in Qatar in 2022. In contrast, in 2019-20, UEFA’s revenues were £2.6 billion and over the four-year period, more than £10 billion. The move to undertake a study into two-yearly World Cups was supported by 166 votes to 22. And the president of the Moroccan Football Federation, Fouzi Lekjaa, speaking on behalf of the Confederation of African Football was quick to endorse it. ‘We believe this will bring future growth to football… and for our regions, which are lagging behind to develop,’ said Lekjaa. ‘Hopefully this will allow us to reach our target of truly global football.’ He was addressing the 211 football federations from around the world via Zoom If the change went ahead, it would have profound implications for European football, which is already struggling with a crowded fixture calendar of domestic, UEFA and international matches. With the expansion of the Champions League from 2024 that is a situation that will only become worse. And Lekjaa dd not shy away from the potential difficulties. ‘We will require a review of all competitions that are already taking place in confederations,’ he said. Infantino appeared pleased with the contributions. ‘Thank you for your support,’ he concluded. ‘This will be looked at by the FIFA administration and all stakeholders.’ |
Career / Ngozi Okonjo-iweala:train THE GIRL CHILD!!! | by naijaclass(m): 7:53am On Feb 17, 2021 |
She was raised by her grandmother because her parents were studying abroad, when she was finally reunited with them...she held on tight! She always wanted her father's attention and this need for attention led to a "COINCIDENCE" that changed her life! Her father was a lecturer at the University of Ibadan, a mathematical economist who was working on a paper and didn't want any disturbance but the young girl needed her father's attention... So he picked a book off his shelf and gave his daughter to read the 1st chapter that he would ask questions later and she happily ran off to read it, happy she got her father's attention... The book turned out to be a book in "ECONOMICS", it was boring and she didn't enjoy it but she still read it and promised herself NEVER to read "ECONOMICS" - COINCIDENCE 1 - A few years later at the age of 18, she had already passed her entrance exams to Cambridge and Harvard with Cambridge being her main choice... She wanted Cambridge because she wanted to study "GEOGRAPHY" and her godmother was lobbying for her to come to Cambridge but something happened, her mother had just gained admission to Boston to do her Ph.D. and as a young teenager, it was better to stay with her mum. She had to go to "HARVARD" which is in Boston to stay close to her mum. You can call this "- COINCIDENCE 2 -" as we're trying to create a pattern. On getting to Harvard, they didn't offer her core subject "GEOGRAPHY" and the only subject close to it that could satisfy her curiosity was "ECONOMICS" So she studied "ECONOMICS", a subject she swore never to read in a school that was never her first choice... - COINCIDENCE 3 - Forbes called her the "Accidental Economist" but I don't see it as "Accidental" or "Coincidence", it was God pushing her towards her destiny of greatness... Thanks to Economics - Former MD World Bank - First Female Finance Minister - Euromoney Global Finance Minister And yesterday she became the "WORLD'S FIRST FEMALE AND FIRST AFRICAN DIRECTOR GENERAL OF WORLD TRADE ORGANIZATION" TRAIN THE GIRL CHILD!!!

Career / How To Boost Your Career! by naijaclass(m): 1:46pm On Feb 10, 2021 |
ATTENTION PLEASE! 1. Last Friday, the US dollars exchanged for 465 Naira to a dollar officially. At the black market the story was 1$ to 500Naira. 2. The immediate impact was to trigger inflation nationwide. This inflation means that every money you have in your account has automatically reduced in value. Its purchasing power is greatly reduced. This creates a lot of tension in the country. It increases crime rate, prostitution, kidnappings etc. 3. It also means that the middle class will shrink further as a result. 4. Experts fear that by the end of 2021, it might get to the point where we have 1$ exchanging for 1000naira. 5. That means that our economy is officially in a bad recession. 6. This is not the time to mourn but to prepare. We must be prepared for anything. 7. If there was ever anytime to be economically informed, it is now. Do you have a savings habit? If you don't, you might be in serious trouble. Last ten years was the best time to start savings. The next best time is today. 8. When I talk of savings, I am not talking about dumping money in the bank. Save money in any thing that can increase the value of your money overtime. 9. Invest in hard currencies like dollar, Euro, Pounds. 10. Invest in real estate if you can 11. Invest in Cryptocurrencies, e.g BTC 12. Multiply your income sources. Diversify. Target at least 7 to 8 sources. 13. Engage in network marketing now. 14. Start drop shipping, email marketing, etc 15. Start Affiliate Marketing 16. Start doing as many things as you can eg. Farming, 17. Acquire more skills 18. The time is coming when three full time jobs may not be able to take care of a family of 5. 19.Develop yourself spiritually and let God help you. 20. Pray and fast for breakthrough in money making. Remain blessed Never waste an opportunity. 1 Like |
