Todd Boehly has become Chelsea's new owner following the completion of his £3.5billion takeover. Boehly's consortium was named as the preferred bidder to take over at Stamford Bridge by the Raine Group, the American bank who are overseeing the sale. He has partnered with fellow Dodgers owner Mark Walter, Swiss billionaire Hansjorg Wyss as well as investment firm Clearlake Capital. Boehly saw off competition from consortiums fronted by Stephen Pagliuca and Sir Martin Broughton and even a late £4.25bn bid from Britain's richest man Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Chelsea confirmed by their official website that terms have been agreed for the new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, to acquire the Premier League club. The statement read: 'Chelsea Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for a new ownership group, led by Todd Boehly, Clearlake Capital, Mark Walter and Hansjoerg Wyss, to acquire the Club. 'Of the total investment being made, £2.5bn will be applied to purchase the shares in the Club and such proceeds will be deposited into a frozen UK bank account with the intention to donate 100 per cent to charitable causes as confirmed by Roman Abramovich. UK Government approval will be required for the proceeds to be transferred from the frozen UK bank account. 'In addition, the proposed new owners will commit £1.75bn in further investment for the benefit of the Club. This includes investments in Stamford Bridge, the Academy, the Women’s Team and Kingsmeadow and continued funding for the Chelsea Foundation. 'The sale is expected to complete in late May subject to all necessary regulatory approvals. More details will be provided at that time.' https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2022/05/06/club-statement

The Premier League is one of the best leagues in the world and that means millions of people around the world want to watch it, making it one of the richest too. But the teams that spend the most don’t always come out on top in the table. English clubs have long spent big money on wages to tempt the best players to come and play for them which, in turn, increases the popularity of the league, bringing in even more money. It means that the wage bills of Premier League clubs are often millions of pounds more than their foreign competitors, with the wages of the ‘big six’ especially eye-watering. Discussion on footballers’ wages seems to be a regular occurrence, with much discontent about the amount of money some of the top footballers earn. Last summer saw one of the world’s most notable football players return to England when Cristiano Ronaldo re-signed for Manchester United while Romelu Lukaku also made the same journey from Serie A to the Premier League. It can be argued that neither transfer paid off. Manchester United have long topped the Premier League’s wage bill table and have one of the biggest payrolls in world football, but they have struggled to perform in recent years while other clubs have spent less money on wages but got better results. We’ve taken a look at the wages of all the Premier League clubs and compared their position on the list of highest salaries to their current position in the league to find out. A Nigerian man has taken to his Twitter page to share the sinister plan he has for a lady who rejected him when he was not financially buoyant but now that he is, she’s come back crawling to him. The said man revealed how the lady rejected him five years ago and went on to date a guy who was quite richer than he was at the time and was always showering the lady with so much gifts but they eventually broke up two years later. He shared that things eventually turned out well for him and the lady saw that he’s doing now fine and decided to come crawling back to him… meanwhile, he has a diabolic plan put in place for her. Read what he shared on his page, I don’t like hurting women but I’m definitely gonna break this one’s heart so bad that she’ll quit being a hungry girl in her life. So I met this girl about 5 years ago, when I was really still struggling in life. I liked her and she liked me too but she doesn’t wanna date me because I was really broke, she didn’t put it that way then but with what happened recently it became evident that she rejected me then coz I was broke. Back I was her best friend, we vibed and spent a lot of time together, at some point I asked her out but she turned me down giving me different excuses, the major excuse being that she isn’t ready for any relationship at that point, she even asked us to both wait for six months and see what happens between us…like some we could date after studying each other for 6 months kinda shit.
