IzonOwei:
y'all should keep displaying your endless foolishness...keep celebrating your blood sucking oga as a hero...the tinubu slaves in lagos is one reason why blacks are considered as perpetual slaves...young/old man free yourself... grin grin....

Like I said, you wouldn't know anything about that. Time will tell...
Politics / Re: New Lagos Governor Ambode Incompetent - The Economist by NaijaHulk: 12:02pm On Nov 10, 2015
IzonOwei:
Oya suffer with the ambode na...slaves...for how long would you people suffer as vassals under tinubu...the annoying thing is because true federalism is not practiced we non indigenes have to stay in lagos to work and suffer the results of the collective foolishness of lagosians and the lagos state government...

You actually don't have to stay anywhere... You can quit and leave to go back to wherever you came from as soon as the "collective foolishness" is too much for you to bear... There is freedom of movement across all the states of the federation.

Going Further, for whatever flaws Tinubu has, the man is still a hero as he and his successor in Fashola have taken Lagos to where it is today in 16 painful years of being in the opposition but you wouldn't know anything about that would you? Only for us to hand it over to JK (& PDP) in opposition. Hell NO!!! Our "collective foolishness" would not let us do that and we are not sorry about it. And to emphasize again you can leave whenever you get tired of it.

If Amubode is going to stagnate Lagos temporarily we will patiently wait another 4 years when we will vote APC again (except their pro-development policies in Lagos change) and I am sure it would be a better candidate. The gains of aligning in the center are already imminent and materializing as all approvals for the rail and port /free trade zone projects will be given and the traffic gridlock will subside eventually. But again you wouldn't know anything about that.
NB - I haven't written Ambode off yet.

Lastly, for those who are really in the know, you will realize that the Economist pushes a pro-western agenda and not everything they say is gospel truth as they are after all just journalists and merely offering an opinion. Time will truly tell.

I rest my case
Politics / Re: Biafra Protest Rages In South East, Group Vows To Shut Down Aba on Monday - SUN by NaijaHulk: 3:26pm On Nov 09, 2015
macfarland:
The government of Buhari is really a bad one. In d last election campaigns, GEJ spoke in Lagos about three things this last presidential election was about. One of them was a choice between going back to d old sorry days of military autocracy and a future filled with great possibilities. For just hating GEJ from a minority, the Yorubas joined Hausa Fulani people to enthrone a bigot like Buhari in power. What u are seeing today is just part of the result of having such a man there.... From Biafra things to all these agitation here and there. Tribunal upturn elections to favour Buhari and all worth not. But a day of reckoning must certainly come. Buhari keep implanting ur Muslim and Northern brothers in power as it was d case during d military. The southeast must remain ur conquered people... South South ur downtrodden but be sure it won't last forever.

I will struggle to restrain myself and just correct you on facts and then offer my opinion. NB- Just 1 & 2 are facts; the rest is my opinion.

1. No tribunal brought Buhari into power in 2015. He won the election fair and square. With votes from mainly the North and Southwest (YES we voted for him massively). That's called politics. Note that Jonathan did not even contest the results and handed over power honorably and I still commend him for that.
2. The current cabinet Buhari will install this week has representation from all the states and regions of Nigeria as recommended by the constitution. The people of Nigeria and ("Biafra"wink need to be patient and give them a chance to work.

3. The fact that majority of the SE states and citizens made a political miscalculation and voted GEJ when his government glaringly did not perform is not anyone's fault. Despite the mistake, The APC govt is going to work to better the whole of Nigeria and not just states that supported the president with votes.
4.a FYI, I live in Lagos voted GEJ in the 2011 election cycle believing he would better the average Nigerian's lot but he didn't so I have to take my support elsewhere. (Note that GEJ won that 2011 election fair and square as well with a mandate from the people but he failed to live up to expectations hence his booting out).
4.b Compare that with 16 years of gradual development by Tinubu and Fashowlie; They did runz yes we know but they DID develop the state massively to the extent that the traffic from everyone that has migrated to Lagos in search of greener pastures (me included) no gree us rest again. They gave contracts to their cronies and supporters but they made sure structures were put in place and that things DO work. Pre- 1999 I can mention a few things that never ever worked but DO work now. Waste management works, the state tax system works, street lights work, health and emergency services work to some extent, street sanitation and roads maintenance work to some extent even though we are not there yet, but the idea here is continuous improvement especially if you realize the whole of Nigeria is like a 100 years behind other civilized economies
4.c If this Biafra clamor had come during OBJ, Yaradua or Goodluck interim or Goodluck 1st term then I would have understood that maybe it was genuine but coming at a time when someone from the SE/SS area is just out of power reeks of blackmail (to the APC which the SE/SS did not back/support) and insincerity in my humble opinion.
5. No one can down tread anyone if you don't let them do so; You need to hold your own leaders accountable to develop your part of the country like everyone else is doing now. Period. If you have been to Angola and Liberia before and see what an armed conflict (especially a prolonged one which is the likely case if Nigeria breaks) causes, you will understand my very peaceful disposition. If things don't get better after 4 years of this APC govt, then lets have this Biafra conversation again. But for now all I see is political blackmail and distraction of the present government from working.

I can continue on and on but I will rest my case for now.

Regards and One love

londoner:
A household is not a company though.....its a family. No one has any sword out (well at least not me) but I have a very different view of companionship. At times one will lean on the other. At times the man and at other times the woman and it is not because the woman has become a man or the man a woman. The family unit reigns supreme not any individual.

One the companionship bit, my belief is that both should be there for each other and that usually in never a problem except in rare cases; two people that love each other should and will provide great companionship to each other. where the issues tend to come in is in leadership and decision-making.

So the simple question for you is>>>

1. Who should be the leader of the relationship/marriage?

NB - family nor be company ooo: was just an analogy and I even gave the woman 50 percent shareholding which is as generous as any man will get... lol...

donem:

hahaha Ogar you just made me have a good laugh at work, on the talking issue most of them fit cast you innocently self.

can't immagine the look on the husbands face, pathetic to say the least.

Even though she might have meant no harm, subtle reminders like that especially in public can weigh a man down meeeen...

Even generally exposed men who are working up their way on their career ladders are not good enough for very rich naija women most of the time because ...

The bitter truth is that women (even the rich ones) always generally want to better their lot in life by the choice of their husbands and feel like marrying someone that is poor is settling for less so they keep waiting or searching not understanding that when you are in the 90th percentile already, your range of options is very limited (only 10% are richer than you in the first place).
The best way to explain this is that 80 or 90% of women would effect a change in attitude if suddenly they became the predominant breadwinner in the home by some means whatever it is... Only few women can keep a level head when they are in power financially... and most men cannot stand that change in attitude which belittling... Chikena

Gold diggers tend not to care, but some men can also genuinely love the rich woman sha and live with the awkwardness and slight wash that the woman will subject them to occasionally coz women will be women and that is inevitable.

So OP, my answer to your question is in the bold ooo...

Hahaha..take a reading course. I didnt say anyone is superior to another. #wrongmentality #sick

Mz flexydeeva and tufanja and Londoner... Sheath your swords abeg... If it is about the right attitude ehn, Mz Flexy deeva definitely has the right attitude and loads of it... Dismissing everything because she used the word 'superior" is entirely the wrong and dismissive attitude the post is addressing in the first place.
My understanding of that usage in the context is not saying that women are inferior but the man is the leader/head of the home even though they are partners in the union... In the real sense and real world especially as it is becoming now, the man is actually not superior and the woman is actually not inferior either (Tufanja is correct on that one) but someone MUST still be the leader and it should be the man... The woman shouldn't always be contesting that role with him if she wants a happy home... He should also accept that leadership and be gracious with it not become a dictator/tyrant in the house
Nah like 50:50 JV wink grin cool but someone must still be the Oga of the company... That is it...

Romance / Re: Nigerian Guy Calls Out Lagos Lady That Dumped Him After A N45k Dinner Date by NaijaHulk: 7:24am On Sep 26, 2015
kITATITA:

45k for meals in a class restaurant with takeaway and wine is not outrageous, depending on your spending power and income. But I can imagine certain things that speak about the 'couple's' class. A woman that will order takeaway and leave the guy in distressed transport situation is of low class. A man who'd moan on public domain about how much he spent on a lady isn't showing respect and civility either. It was a bad date, period.

This says it all... the guy is just too dull... and the girl is too ebinnatic... Low class things the both of them and the behavior would not change even if the dinner was 5k or 50k... 45k IS a lot of money on some fronts... but not something to be razing down the whole internet because of... shiorr... nonsense... and as for the girl too, I mean if someone gave me a just ride and his/her car had a problem, just that would make me consider assisting the person sort out his /her car issues as long as I am not very late for my destination/appointment and the breakdown location is not shady or unsafe... but to abandon someone you just had dinner with (even if nah Mr. biggs sef!) ... that's just low class...

then on the take away matter, you can let the ebinna carry her own takeaway, why carry your own again undecided angry wetin you go chop after the stress of fixing your car and by the way the guy dey complain sef, u will know probably doesn't go to such "45k" places very often... chaaai... Real bad market...

First class mumu ni bobo yen... Ebinna oshi ni baby yen... Finish

Abeg go and sit down joor. Take your misogynist self elsewhere. You people blamed Toke for her not having enough time for her cheating husband and now you blame this woman too for stepping out. It is you people who will justify a man who cheats on a wife who doesn't like some sexual positions. Someone can ever win with you guys. What do you want from women self? Double standards.

Haaaa! I had to go and look at this big misogynist grammar ooo before replying you... chisssoosss! E pass me ooo...

Ehen! On That Toke matter ehn, its not even about enough time for her hubby or not ooo... there are many hardworking/busy career women whose husbands appreciate their wives and would never even cheat on them talk less of impregnating someone else under dia nose (if the allegations are true coz I don't believe anybody is anybody's father until a DNA test has been done ... lol)... I think it was more about her forming/pretending/seeming to know everything about men and relationships when she has not even covered her own base... smh... I feel for her sad but the matter amuses me as well... cheesy grin tongue . Women that really have a hold on their husbands or bfs don't go about gloating over it or broadcasting it.

Back to the matter at hand, my understanding is that the woman has not stepped out yet but is under serious pressure/temptation to do so. I just think there is more to the story than we are hearing... Kissing and affection should be part of any relationship and marriage sha so I don't know what is wrong with the oga which is what I was trying to find out. I am Not saying he was correct for not displaying affection or not kissing his wife ooo ... Chikena

Romance / Re: Is It Normal For Nigerian Men To Beat Women by NaijaHulk: 2:04pm On Jun 17, 2015
There are always 2 sides to a coin.

Some men are beasts and would be barbaric and beat the homeliest and most-angelic woman. those are the ones that need to be checked. and possibly locked behind bars sef...

Some women sef dia mouth nah winsh and can provoke the most gentlemanly of all men... Those are the ones that need to be disciplined since their parents refused to give them home training. but discipline at your own peril coz nah jail you go do your 30th and 40th birthday! hahahahahaha... Either way, you are facked... so best to avoid and ignore them altogether when choosing a life partner.

best to avoid the types of people described above so you can have peace of mind and not spend ur life behind bars fore beating a woman. or the rest of your life being the subject of verbal abuse and disrespectful woman. Or worse still a punching bag for those barbaric men. I don talk my own ooo...

I just dey pity APC coz I no know the miracle they want to work with Nigerian economy that is non-existent. in the absence of money and oil prices in the doldrums. but I guess its a start sha. but I say no to any 5k b**s**t joor what is that? what needs to be done is projects that benefit the country such as power and electricity and agriculture and building. those will generate employment and give people source of livelihood instead of donating handouts to citizens which will be frittered away. and of course the program will be hijacked with ghost jobless people and become another subsidy albatross.. no abeg... we not want...

Hello Dear VO,

Good Day. Please I intend to sponsor a relative for education in the united states and therefore I need to show the US embassy a statement of account. He has a been offered admission from a US school for a graduate program.

Is there any way of doing this while keeping the details of the account with a good record and enough money to show that I will sponsor him away from him (private and secret)? e.g. sending it to the embassy / consular officer directly

As much as I want to sponsor him, I also want to keep the details of my earnings, spending's and financial information as private as I can...
