speedyGonzales: well, Mahatma Gandhi won Independence for India through civil non-violent protest... Martin Luther king jr won the civil rights movement through civil peaceful protest... they are still hailed as hero today!
these people what inclusiveness not one side stealing from the other and visa-verse... if igbo takes everything for themselves the north will also suffer and we result this this same situation... a better country for all was the idea of confab but it was thrown away by buhari because they want to maintain the status quo, or let biafrans create their own better country for them and you create for you!
believe it or not I thing a one Nigeria but better Nigeria would be a force to reckon with but one tribe always trying to cheat the other only results in more problems... and endless quarrels, it is clear it probably never going to happen... That is why you need the maturity of purpose. Do you know the number of tribes in say italy, or even the US? We need to see ourselves pass the ethnic tags we've drawn ourselves in. We might never totally defeat it, but at least some of us should show others the maturity of mind that this nation deserves. That is the Beauty of democracy. if buhari is stealing everything and taking it to the north, he has just 4 years. After that, we can align with the yorubas and make sure he's dethroned. We need to start creating political inroads in Nigeria. I forever maintain that Nigeria is bigger of a price for the igbos to conquer than Biafra. |

SmartMugu: But that's the idea. Not every war is entirely intended to serve the purpose the populace is expected to believe. I've learnt in life, every occurrence is overly projected by a few with a goal of accomplishing an ulterior motive. Same here in this scenario.
I won't be surprised if Biafra comes to be and afterwards there are internal struggles about Biafra's leadership structure. Today we hear of lopsided appointments looking at it from a National standpoint, most likely we will hear same from a regional standpoint in Biafra.
You are right, wars take years to wear off. In this case, we all knew several Ibos were massacred in the past Biafran was. If I was Ibo, and grew up thinking about what I saw my parents, grandparents and relatives went through during the war and how they're no more today, seriously I'd be upset and woukd gladly join the movement.
Again, knowing that the entire Nigerian leadership sidelines people from that area will further infuriate me. Sometimes when we sleep, let's make effort to see what's happening around us in our sleep and not just sleep like a dummy.
How hard is it to understand Nigeria as it is now may actually be better when divided? The whole Nigeria idea only works for a select few. true, but we actually declared the war ourselves. Nigeria as it is now is actually not better when divided. All we need is sincerity of purpose from our leaders. The diversity of Nigeria makes it a very viable estate. Large expense of lands for Agriculture in the North, Oil field in the SS, Commerce in SW, Enterprise in the East.....these combinations are the envy of many countries in the world. if we have sincerity of purpose, we would surly be more economically viable than the US. That is why they are doing everything possible to make sure we divide. |

speedyGonzales: see more propaganda! people with foresight? this people are protesting for inclusiveness and a better country for all it people but you are here preaching how they could be steal the money for themselves instead of making it available to all, you are the problem with Nigeria! Listen, what i am saying is that we need to be wise. The northerners are very smart and they have long foresight. The dead has being done already. We fought a war and have/still paying the price. We need another strategy to win political relevance in Nigeria and get back the things we've lost. Not by Screaming Biafra |

speedyGonzales: how many multinational companies residing in, Enugu, Aba, Calabar or employing their people if it is their oil? how many of their indigenes own oil blocks, how many oil billionaires do they produce? how many international airports do they have? how many deep seaport do they have? why are they still marginalised in national politics today! why does it anger you Yoruba and northern beneficiaries of the oil so much that igbo's want a place where the feel like they matter and can contribute or aspire to be president of? while you were busy fighting, people with foresight were busying securing their future. Anyway, Industries are not usually built in a place by the Government. Private individuals do it. How hard have you worked in attracting investments to your state? How many international airports are in the North? Multinational companies choose places to reside, places that would be favourable to their business. Winning oil blocs has to do with political clouts. How politically mature are we? |

SmartMugu: It's high time the Biafrans get what they want. If a united Nigeria hasn't been beneficial to a region, why not just face the facts and let them be?
No hard feelings, I've been hearing about Biafra since I was about 6 years old. After over 3 decades it's still the same. I love dynamics and would prefer to see the change while I'm still alive so my kids don't have to hear about this same struggle several decades from now.
All I think I'll miss is the music, nothing else. By that, what will happen to Don Jazzy, D'Prince, Phyno etc whose songs I like? Well, if they can still drop hits in the Nigeria that remains across borders, I'm fine with Biafra being by itself. You fought a war.....you have to bear the consequences so how....it would take years to totally wear off. Because, while you were busy fighting, others were busy making themselves and their regions better. |

speedyGonzales: shut your filthy hole, they are not your brothers, you've already made that clear, you are a Yoruba man, indoctrinated right from conception to believe that the atrocities of staving children to death in the SE and SS, by your parents and grandparents was and act of solidarity to a failed state, But in reality it was a fight for oil money which helped build Lagos/Abuja and line the pockets of your biggest hero billionaires! If pro-biafrans aren't killing anyone they should have the right like any other human to determine their destiny, you can give yours to corrupt politicians! anu ofia, i am not yoruba. Lagos was already a big city even before oil was discovered. |
