I knew 2face was going to reach this zenith a long time, a very long time ago; it was like stating the obvious; he has this compelling voice, back in the defunct Plantashun boiz group, I can safely say he was the strongest even though Blackface was always trying to prove he was the best of the trio; no doubts he was abi na is good in his game.

Back then, I had so much joy in delaying errands, why? There was always a plantashun boiz song playing at a nook or corner, I would not leave till the tape stops; d lyrics are so strong that it was the perfect song for both meaningful and meaningless guys; a guy who having approached a girl with those habitual pre-relationship phrases was wise enough to draw supplements from Plan B's lyrics. One boy approached me one time like
that, me that I listen to Plan B's songs 24/7, anyways lemme continue, all the words from his mouth were just Plan-Beed, I just walked away, till today, it still pains me that I didn't say, 'shut-up, na me u wan download plantashun boiz for abi?", but thank God I didn't, I could
have equally inherited a swollen face.

I'm an unrepentant, indefatigable, infact, a big apologist of 2face. My love for his music(as a solo musician) dates back to my secondary school days, my mates few teachers all knew I liked him. African Queen swept me off, that hit song was more than a hit it was totally captivating, I had to dedicate a higher-education
notebook for everything happening within and outside's 2face's life; a friend saw the book and shook her head; when the attack stories came up, I was glued
to tv&newspapers, monitoring every single detail like he hired me to do so.
2face is good. And what has endeared me to him over the years are two things: his humility and versatility. 2baba is humble to a fault; my mum was the first
person to mention that to me, adding the issue of collabos, her words: "there is nobody 2face cannot do collabos with, he doesn't see any artiste as being from
a slum or raised with a silver spoon, he mixes with anybody; even when he is in a position to choose people he sings with, he doesn't have ego or pride, he knows where he is coming from", believe you me I was shocked!! When the scandals started trailing him, people gave me a tough time, as if I was his adviser, "you see 'Lolade, your best musician they give people belle anyhow, shame on him", this, that. Scandals do bring people's career or image down, 2face
pulled through all that; topped charts and cash flowed in immensely. Whether he was unable to manage stardom or not, he is an awesome musician; from the way he talks, exchanges banters, relate with people, he is a simple person. Sometime ago in my area, whenever he comes around, asides the monetary blessings some stall owners receive, they recount tales of how friendly he is and if you ask me, some arrogant musicians should take cues from that.
Asides clinching awards everynow and then, two things he's done between last year and this year that have made my respect for him deeper are Àirtel-sponsored One-8 involvement and his BET award which clearly reveals that he is a top-flight singer,

Dancer/choreographer and mom-to-be, Kaffy shows off her five-month baby bump. The dance Queen had revealed pregnancy in July this year.

Rumour has it that Kaffy will be walking down the aisle with her Fiance - Psquare's band member, Joseph Ameh in October, 2011.

Music star, Soundsultan who graced the NEA awards show some days ago in New York is still in the Empire state. The 'VGBG' singer is busy working on few tracks with top music acts in New York. He was spotted with Wyclef's producer, Jerry Wonder during a studio session at his Platinum sound studio. As we all know, Soundsultan enjoys a good working relationship with Wyclef, they've both collaborated on some tracks.

At the Studio, Soundsultan also met with multi-talented songwriter and vocalist Jared Cotter who signed deal with EMI Music Publishing late last year. He wrote songs like David Guetta's Where dem galz at, co-wrote 'down' by Jay Sean.

Let's be expecting something big from Soundsultan. Sure, he never disappoints.

Olisa Publicly Apologizes For Beating Colleague. 'we All Make Mistakes'

As has been widely reported I was involved in an altercation with a work colleague during the week. I am deeply regretful of what transpired and have taken full responsibility for my actions. I have privately apologized to my colleague, the team that I work with and I am taking this opportunity to apologize to the public at large.
As humans we all make mistakes and I made a major one which is completely out of character. I over reacted to a situation and that is something that will never repeat itself.

Despite being at the centre of a media feeding frenzy, I’ve been silent in order to allow the organization, to which I’m affiliated with and at who’s premises the incident occurred, to carry out its investigations and come to a conclusion but most importantly to allow the aggrieved party (Mr. Adewunmi Oyekanmi) time to accept my heartfelt apology.

While the events have been distorted, I am very apologetic about the situation but picking holes in the media reports or pointing out the falsehoods will not be useful, however, any kind of loss of control is not excusable and I have since tendered an unreserved apology to 'Dewunmi. I have always preached against violence and so this is a time for some reflection. Again, I apologize and I thank ‘Dewunmi for accepting my apology.

The attention of the management of THE BEAT 99.9FM has been drawn to widespread online and social media reports, regarding an unfortunate incident that occurred between two members of our staff on THE BEAT FM 99.9 FM premises in the early hours of Thursday September 8, 2011.

The management team can confirm that there was an altercation between our Programmes Director Olisa Adibua and our editor Adewunmi Oyekanmi. We are fully investigating the incident and have placed Olisa Adibua on a four-week suspension as a precautionary measure while he cooperates fully with the investigation. Adewunmi Oyekanmi is also assisting us with the investigation.

As a responsible organisation, the management of THE BEAT 99.9FM condemns any form of violence, assault and abuse, and, will not condone any such act by ANY member of staff.

The BEAT of Lagos event that occurred on the 9th of September, in which Olisa co-hosted with our other BEAT 99.9 presenters, was a jointly staged event with a partner. This partner was made aware of the situation and still requested that we honour the existing contract with his firm which stated that all presenters, including Olisa Adibua, be present at the event.

We assure our listeners, friends, partners and all concerned parties that decisive actions will be taken, and enforced.  The management of the BEAT 99.9FM is already putting in place measures to prevent a repeat of such an unfortunate incident.

Goldie was caught rocking looks extremely similar to Lady Gaga's high necked dress with feathers at the 2009 MTV VMAs. No doubt, Gaga owns the original look there, so she rocked it better.

In 2008, star-studded movie with a terrible title, Beyonce & Rihanna was released starring Nadia Buari as beyonce and Omotola Jalade as Rihanna. The beyonce & Rihanna movie is worth watching though because I could remember the title stop being bad when I saw the movie. Was just confused as to why they gave it a terrible title. Same with 'Obama babes' released this year. Uche Jombo, Chika Ike, Monalisa Chinda and Ify Ejikeme. I swear this stupid movie hasn't got anything to do with the title.

They've done it again, 'Lady Gaga' starring Funke Akindele and Oge Okoye. Now it doesn't get more silly than this.
Maybe we shouldn't judge the movie by its poster and title, so let's wait and see

In honour of late music legend, Christy Essien Igbokwe, a novelty match was held on september 3,2011 (saturday) at the Tesleem Balogun Stadium in Lagos filled with about ten thousand spectators. 

Two matches were played "TEAM SWAN VS TOP ENTERTAINMENT WRITERS and THE STARS OF MUSIC VS THE STARS OF NOLLYWOOD" . The first match was won by Team Swan (Sport Writers Association Of Nigeria) beating Entertainment writers by 3 goals to nothing.

The second match: It was a tough battle between Musicians and Nollywood Stars.
While the likes of Konga, Jahbourne, Ikechukwukillz, African China, Zaki Azay, Baba dee (captain) and others played for The Stars of Music Team, Osita Iheme and Chinedu Ikedieze (Aki & Pawpaw), Segun Arinze, Fred Amata, Jeta Amata, and other nollywood actors played for The Stars Of Nollywood Team. The Musicians defeated Nollywood Stars 3-2 after a penalty shoot-out. And Governor Godswill Akpabio presented the musicians with the golden trophy.

Stella Damasus, Zara, Fragrance, Shan George, Annie Macaulay, and other female stars were also at the novelty match
