I know someone has been here in the UK on a HSMV and is doing fine. He had 10 years experience in civil service at a state level and applied from HSMV and got it with his wife and 2 kids. He didn't have a job waiting for him in the UK, he started looking for a job when he got here, and I helped him with his CV etc. The funny thing is he's not working in any specialist industry like IT or Biotech, he's working as a security guard in a department store! So don't be afraid to apply for a HSMV, just make sure you have some working experience and a degree in something. |
The sabbath during the time of Exodus was Saturday, you must be a totally brainwashed follow follow to misuse the Holy Bible to justify your evil thoughts. The Old Testament was basically revealed to Jews and not a Christian "thing". I suggest you join the army since you have lost your sense of reason. This is another expample of the dangers "Naija Cultism" being taken and understood as Christianity. |
Insist that CV attachments are in MS Word format and a copy in PDF, you could include a link to a free PDF creator ie. http://sourceforge.net/projects/pdfcreator/ |

"it's a man's world" is a phrase popularised by James Brown's song of the same name, it has generally believed that the lyric's tell a story of how women are constantly suffering from the unfaithfulness of men and it's a huge burden on her; the true message is more compelling. At the time of release in 1962, there was a lot of oppression of black people by whites and the civil rights movement was advocating for change; so the phrase "The Man" referred to any Oga especailly white men who oppressed black people back then in the 1960's. So basically, it's a song of the oppressed, quite like many of Fela's works in the seventy's; and also used as a description of men's oppression of women. |
I think the best person to ask is your friend, so go round his house and tell him of your dilemma. I'm sure he will give you a clear answer! |
You haven't stated what your interest is, so I assuming that you are considering a learning/career path. In that case, I would like to share my experience; usually I have come across FORTRAN/COBOL programmes when undertaking a migration from a legacy application to a more distributed one. Legacy apps are usually mainframe ones and are considered too rigid for today's dynamic use. It may be a good associated skill but, it will be plain suicide to hedge your bets with such a small arena. Another thought is the demand will be more in demand in self build mainframe markets like eastern Europe and defence related markets, even they are gradually moving to more maintainable architectures based either on UNIX or even Linux. The only guys I know who have experience in FORTRAN/COBOL are 55yrs plus and only get work on highly security-classified system they worked on when in their 30yrs ! On the other hand there might be a Renaissance! Enjoy! |
Access to capital is a key indicator of the degree of business creation, Nigerian entrepreneurs essentially become either small employers or part of management for large companies. The middle market is made of professionals from the medial, law and business services categories. Only recently has technology/telecoms increased the breath of the middle market by creating new services and products, another key capital user group albeit non-corporate are the practitioners in media and associated services. Weighting this trend against the number of incorporated companies and you can easily prove that new business creation is rife and dynamic but not adequately monitored, another indicator is the increase in wealth and depth of banking and financial products now available. You ask what does this big big grammar have to do with creating a brand ? Well even me self dey suffer from brand disease. I have two online projects in the pipline, great products but lacking in execution and branding; so even expert self dey make mistake. Enjoy |
Previously posted in the Adverts section. I've just had an request for large format paintings on canvas, if you know of any budding artist who can paint to order please ask him/her to contact me. Basically, unframed oil painting on canvas is the preferred item; abstract in style and MUST be large format about the size of A1 which is around 4 x A3 or 8 x A4 or A0 which is twice the size of A1. Prices are negotiable. Terms: can be negotiated directly but only for finished artwork, advance may be considered but only on proof of sketches and references. free at nairamarket dot com |
It's rather strange that we easily divide society by the manner of worship ie. Christian, Muslim etc instead of recognising that we all believe and worship the same Creator. If I were to ask you "Do you believe in One God ?" Your answer will surely be "Yes" or even "Of Course" So why do we then separate This One God into several ? Your acceptance of One God, automatically makes you a Christian and also is the criterion for becoming a Muslim. Another concern of mine is the Word God is English and The word Allah is Arabic, so obviously we Nigerians must accept that the Word Oludumare in Yoruba is equally important to us as well as Igbo and Hausa words too. All of the issues and concerns we have are all borne out of language and translation and more importantly acceptance, so don't lose sleep over issues of religious differences. As the saying goes, "You can't win an argument with a fool, because he has lots of experience at being foolish and will win by experience(sic)" Enjoy |

cc me if u get any |
It will not do any harm if you bring some with you, I'm sure friends and friend of friend will at least have a look. Women seem more ready to buy on impulse so, load up on quality stuff that are locally made in Nigeria; no need bringing lace that's easily available in the UK. Men are quick to pick something like malam slippers or hi-grade adire tops. |
Hi Guys, I am happy to say things are getting better, only recently Nigeria is beginning to earn a better image in a source"virgin territory" for new business especially telecoms. Recently, there was a special coverage in the Red Herring magazine (http://www.redherring.com/Article.aspx?a=14558&hed=Telco%e2%80%99s+Scramble+for+Africa+) talking up the leadership role Nigeria is taking in Telecoms especially mobile telecoms. www.nairaland.com is a good example of leadership in new trends exploding from Nigeria. It will take time but a better image is possible in our lifetime so lets keep producing opportunities. Peace. |
