Juventus captain, Giorgio Chiellini has said that fellow teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo broke his “dreams many times – in Cardiff, Madrid and Turin”. Ronaldo led Real Madrid during his time at the Santiago Bernabeu to defeat Juventus on several occasions in the Champions League encounter. The 33-year-old scored twice for Real Madrid against Juventus in the Champions League final in 2017. He also scored three goals in two games against Max Allegri’s side last season. Chiellini admitted that the Portuguese captain had left him heartbroken over the years. “Cristiano scored many, many, many times against us and he broke my dreams many times – in Cardiff, in Madrid, in Turin,”Chiellini was quoted by Express UK as saying. “Before, the Champions League was a dream. “Now it is a target because Cristiano is the best player in the world and we need him to make the last step. “It’s the personality of Cristiano. “He has fantastic skills in the field but out of the field, his attitude – how he works, how he prepares for the match, how he lives every day of his life – can help us. Sadio Mane is adamant Liverpool will win the Premier League this season and insists the Reds will not “choke” under the pressure of the title race. Jurgen Klopp’s side are four points clear of nearest rivals Manchester City at the top of the league, with 16 games remaining in the campaign. Pep Guardiola has warned Liverpool of the pressures of being Premier League leaders but Mane expects his team-mates to cope with the run-in, as they look to end the club’s 29-year wait for the title. He said: “This is not a team of chokers. I am sure we will be champions of England. “When I wake up, I don’t go to the training ground thinking we will not win. The Coalition United of Political Parties, CUPP, has mocked now retired Inspector General of Police, IGP, Ibrahim Idris, on the occasion of his 60th birthday. CUPP celebrated Idris by cutting a birthday cake, a gesture the opposition said was to put an end to the era of excesses in the police. The police chief clocked 60 years on Tuesday which brings his career in the force to an end. The cutting of the cake followed a press conference addressed by the national spokesman of the coalition, Ikenga Ugochinyere, at its national secretariat in Abuja. Ugochinyere cut the cake alongside Sam Eke, National Chairman Green Party of Nigeria; Jeff Ojinika, National Chairman of Coalition for Change; Nse Obong, National Chairman of Restoration Party and Ken Udeze, National Chairman of Action Alliance.
