From the article I read, Nairobi metamorphoses from a mere train station to a town. It was not planned. The 1948 plan was only for the CDB area but was badly implemented while the whole remaining parts were left to develop naturally. Bhuhahahaha!


No wonder, no part of Nairobi is recognised as a planned area. Unlike, Nigeria that has many areas recognised as planned areas.


EAC is planned. Ikeja is planned. Lekki is planned. Victoria Island is planned. Ikoyi is planned. Festac is planned. Banana island is planned. All these cities within Lagos state are recognised as planned cities.

Bonny island is recognised as a planned in Rivers state.

Abuja is planned in FCT.

Centenary city is also planned in FCT.

The world knows about this undiluted fact. Poor Kenya. You don't have one single planned city. Even the one planned by the colonial master covers CBD but wasn't executed.

First of all, I was born and brought up in lasgidi before work moved to different cities in Nigeria almost 20 years ago. So, I don't really know much about the Skyscrappers on ground except through Skyscrappercity and other sources.

Besides, I have traveled to Benin, Togo, Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia , Thailand (airport), UAE, and one of the most advanced Asian country.

So, I have lots of foreigners as friend.

I took one foreigner to Calabar and she could not believe her eyes. Em snap pictures tire.

I took other foreigners and later one Ghanian to Port Harcourt. They said they love it more than Lagos.

In fact, the Ghanian confessed Port Harcourt is better than Accra and looks like Europe.


Some Ghanians friends later came to Lagos for something. When dem reach Vi, Ikoyi and island they could not believe this is Africa. They were marvelled.

Finally, a foreigner who lived in Nairobi Kenya for years came to Lagos. They never believed VI, Lagos island, Ikoyi and Lekki are in Nigeria. Although, they confirmed Nairobi has bigger malls than Nigeria and even called ours child's play but they said in terms of beauty and high-rise, Lagos is far beautiful and ahead of Nairobi.


In short, they said Abuja is most beautiful city in the whole of Africa except for some south African cities. To them Nairobi is child's play.

These foreigners have lived in Nairobi for years and they have been to all the major cities in Kenya and Africa.

Na since dat time I open eyes.
