Nairaland / General / Re: The Nigerian Police Force: How do you view them? by Namio1(f): 2:44pm On Jun 03, 2005
The problem with people is that they are never satisfied. Though i know that our Police is not the best, i also know that the working/living environment has made it so. Now, when you have a problem with someone who has duped u or wronged u and get the police to sort it out for u, u don't remember then that the police is corrupt. Why was the Minister of Housing sacked? is she a police woman? Why is it that all government Offices, you would need to give bribe for your file to move or for you to see an 'Oga'?

Its just unfortunate that the Police are in the eye of the public and so everyone would see their bad side. Someone has to speak for these guys now abi?

I think what we generally need to do is to join hands to make Nigeria better.

Jokes Etc / The heel/sole of your shoe breaks in front of a large audience? What will you do? by Namio1(f): 10:59am On Jun 03, 2005
It happened to me! Allow me to give you the gist.........

I was nominated for an award and was called to recieve the award. On the faithful day, I was so happy and trust now, I had to look good for the occassion.

To cut the long story short, when I was called up to recieve the award, I got up and started walking down the aisle (unfortunately for me, I sat at the back-to draw attention to myself) and all eyes were on me as I walked down. When I was almost in front of the stage, the heel (very high one for that matter) of one of the pair of shoes I was wearing broke!  Ha! I almost died. At first I was not sure of what had happenned but then, it dawned on me.

I will not tell u what I did or what happenned there after until I get your take on what you would do if tou were in my shoes.

What would you do if u were in my shoes?
Romance / Re: Your Lover Slaps You During an Argument by Namio1(f): 10:38am On Jun 03, 2005
seun:

I have said it before, but nobody listens to me.

If a woman slaps her boyfriend, it's no big deal. It is just disrespect. Disrespect affects your ego, but it's no big deal. Unless the woman is trained in the martial arts or something

However, If a man slaps girlfriend, it's a more serious matter. It is a sign of worse things to come. Women never listen when this thing is being said, then they end up in abusive relationships.

A family member who is a marriage counselor once mentioned it in my presence that that 50% or more of Church-going husbands (Pentecostals o) beat their wives from time to time. Think about that.

Seun, i concur! If i am not married to u and u slap me, its over between us-go get urself a punching bag.

The suspense and sometimes the stupidity of some od the contestants. Though it is easier said especially when u aint a contestant. But men, some of the contestants amuse me whne it comes to using their brains! In all its an interesting program and i hate to watch alone. I wish i was one of them grin

TV/Movies / Domino (Soap Opera on AIT) by Namio1(f): 10:39am On May 27, 2005
Domino is a Nigerian Soap. Shown every Sunday on AIT by 8.00 pm.

Basically, it is about this very influencial family. Lord Williams is a Father of 3 (2 guys and a babe) who divorced their mum and married the househelp. Their mum is nothing to write home about- sleeps around and is trying to get her ex's empire. Their daughter has a drinking an drug problem. Et cetera.

Do you watch this soap? What do you think of Lord Williams and they way he acts?

Religion / Re: Is She the Will of God for Me? What Really Is The Will of God? by Namio1(f): 1:10pm On May 26, 2005
You must seek for a spouse but you must also seek God's intervention to be sure. I don't mean from all "those" pastors. You can seek for God's intervention by yourself! Come to think of it, are you a Moslem or Christian?
Music/Radio / Re: Genevieve Nnaji in the Music Profession? by Namio1(f): 12:02pm On May 26, 2005
I think she is cool. Just check her out! She could do with some modest clothing though.
