PoliticsRe: Buhari In Durban, South Africa, To Seek $40 Billion Investments by Namnam: 7:02am On Nov 15, 2021
Can the Nigerian government just build bigger mines and factories for itself, loans and inflation won’t last forever they too need a source of revenue to maintain their size otherwise they won’t last, Nigeria isn’t China that can just rely on taxing all the money from its own civilians and receive billions they have very little and need to produce a lot
PoliticsHealthcare by Namnam(op): 6:02am On Nov 14, 2021
When is healthcare and vaccines for tuberculosis HIV and malaria becoming more widely available, it’s getting aggrevating seeing folks constantly move elsewhere to receive treatment only to come back and wind up sick again for god knows what reasons even though the government spends so much on it
PoliticsEvery Year Oil Becomes A Diminishing Part Of The Economy by Namnam(op): 2:48am On Nov 14, 2021
Every year oil accounts for a smaller and smaller share in revenue made in this country not just for what businesses take in but also in exports
In 2012 oil was 84% of the economy
Today it’s 70% and if trends stay the same 30 years from now it’s gonna be in the 30s-40s range while manufacturing and medical equipment grows larger and larger

How should Nigerians react to this change
PoliticsRe: Why Won’t Nigeria Build Railways Connecting To Other Members Of ECOWAS by Namnam(op): 6:05pm On Nov 12, 2021
DubaiLandLord1:

Yes didn’t you hear about the recent new station that was introduced like a few weeks ago, thing costed 12 trillion N
PoliticsWhy Won’t Nigeria Build Railways Connecting To Other Members Of ECOWAS by Namnam(op): 5:31pm On Nov 12, 2021
If the government can connect every city in the country together why not expand its influence on foreign markets with railways from Cameroon to Senegal like what southern African countries did?
PoliticsRe: I’ve Revitalised Economy, Built Infrastructure, Uplifted Nigerians’ Living Stand by Namnam: 9:36pm On Nov 10, 2021
He didn’t do Jack shit, infrastructure spending has only recently been proposed not by him but by ordinary mayors and corporations that want more roads rails and factories in order to function. Buhari spent his time aiding domestic terrorists and cracking down on protesters
PoliticsRe: Buhari: We’ll Work With France To Dismantle Criminal Networks by Namnam: 7:39pm On Nov 10, 2021
That’s a terrible idea, remember what happened in mail? Russians are better or even the best options let Nigeria deal with bokoharam and other terrorists as they’ve been declining in influence for years even without foreign support
PoliticsAbout The Governments Rail Line To Niger by Namnam(op): 6:58pm On Nov 10, 2021
What should northerners expect now that they have competition and also opportunities to sell their goods to our neighbors and what about trade in mail and the rest of ECOWAS with the new infrastructure fund for rail energy and industry?
PoliticsRe: A Wealth Of Sorrow: Why Nigeria’s Abundant Oil Reserves Are Really A Curse by Namnam: 10:09pm On Nov 09, 2021
Princedapace:
Bro, Nigeria is way richer. Nigeria can buy the entire west Africa. That is the point I was making.

So, if a country not as rich as Nigeria could have stable electricity and peaceful atmosphere, Nigeria is a cursed place.
I mean on the bright side the government did address these concerns and is ramping up infrastructure spending to prevent that now
PoliticsRe: Troops Kill 4 ISWAP Terrorists In Mafa, Borno by Namnam: 9:12pm On Nov 09, 2021
Haha they’re using cooking pots as helmets
PoliticsRe: A Wealth Of Sorrow: Why Nigeria’s Abundant Oil Reserves Are Really A Curse by Namnam: 8:54pm On Nov 09, 2021
chloride6:
I know you are joking but I'll not engage you..

Manufacturing in Nigeria is profitable?
Yes
Why do you think the government buys so much machinery and factory equipment from China and the west?
PoliticsRe: Buhari Says Nigeria To End Wheat Importation Soon by Namnam: 8:49pm On Nov 09, 2021
Well this is good news
This means local farmers and fertilizer companies have incentives to produce more while the government now can cut costs allowing more funding to industry
PoliticsRe: A Wealth Of Sorrow: Why Nigeria’s Abundant Oil Reserves Are Really A Curse by Namnam: 8:44pm On Nov 09, 2021
chloride6:
Is manufacturing profitable??
Yes it’s over a quarter of the economy, we produce a lot of industrial goods like steel, fertilizers, concrete and tools to the point where sea craft is our second largest revenue producing asset
PoliticsRe: A Wealth Of Sorrow: Why Nigeria’s Abundant Oil Reserves Are Really A Curse by Namnam: 8:41pm On Nov 09, 2021
Literally every country on the planet has trillions upon trillions of resources. It’s about countries that actually use them or sell them that causes such conflicts, besides oil is a dying sector of the Nigeria’s economy since the government has been raising funding for more infrastructure year after year allowing businesses to grow
PoliticsRe: NNPC Records ₦1.29 Trillion Revenue Deficit Under 9 Months In 2021 by Namnam: 5:49pm On Nov 09, 2021
Who cares oil is becoming a diminishing portion of the Nigerian economy in general due to the recent massive investments in infrastructure and rail to other ECOWAS members.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Leads As States’ Mid-Year IGR Hits ₦849.12 Billion by Namnam: 5:45pm On Nov 09, 2021
What Lagos is doing is reasonable
They need money for tools like infrastructure factories and rails but other parts of Nigeria need that aswell and can’t benefit off being coastal like Lagos, it’s healthy for revenues to be diverted to neighbouring cities as it all comes back around when every state produces the revenue it needs to thrive and grow its industries
PoliticsRe: Koshoedo: Lagos Government’s Negligence Contributed To Ikoyi Building Collapse by Namnam: 5:32pm On Nov 09, 2021
If this was China this wouldn’t have even been reported. Oh well we’ll just have to deal with this as this is gonna happen more often due to the fact that the federal government ramped up spending a lot on infrastructure and rail systems to encourage business and generally grow the economy nationally.
PoliticsRe: Every Region Of Nigeria Had Gone Back To Their Master Plan by Namnam: 9:29pm On Nov 08, 2021
Can there be a filter to remove separatists threads. Ethnic separatism is fucking dead in this country and has been for a while because literally no one gives a shit about independence when people need a home to sleep in food and a job
PoliticsRe: Nigeria Approves $11.2 Billion Lagos – Calabar High Speed Rail Line by Namnam: 2:31am On Nov 07, 2021
Jesus they really are spending a lot on infrastructure lately, and for good reasons props up businesses and generally increases labour productivity
First there was the 37 billion power rail and infrastructure initiative
Then the 3 billion housing boost
Then the announcement private energy companies are looking into solar tech
And now with this new rail line small businesses have opportunities to take in tax revenue for the government
Things are looking good for the economy smiley
PoliticsRe: The North Wants The SE To Remain In Nigeria Because Of Its Huge Gas Deposits by Namnam: 6:37am On Nov 06, 2021
Literally no one in this country cares about separatism beyond lunatics and cultists. Most of us only want to pay for rent and food consistently

JOemmy:
Nigeria is currently the poverty capital of the world yet buhari keeps spending billions of dollars on military equipments instead on poverty alleviation and education.
Literally wrong the government budget on infrastructure raised to over 12.5 trillion N just a few days ago and education has been one of the largest govt expenditures for decades now
EducationRe: California - No Oil But Richer Than France Brazil And Nigeria by Namnam: 5:26am On Nov 01, 2021
From what I understand about that place it’s not really an economy but a massive commercial district the size of a country.

To generate so much revenue you need industry and for that you need energy, even if they’re not directly making any revenue off energy it’s not unreasonable to state that the sheer amount of outsourcing and industry that place needs in order to manufacture the goods and the tools it’s service workers use to keep the state alive vastly outpaces whatever the hell it produces
BusinessRe: There’s Not Enough Workers by Namnam(op): 10:45pm On Oct 28, 2021
thebosstrevor1:
You have just written an ignorant comment.

Unemployment is very low in the north.

Almost everyone is doing something, maybe not white collar jobs but blue collar jobs.

Unemployment is actually very high in the south, no wonder the south has the highest rate of fraudsters and prostitutes.
Unemployment stats only account for documented workers vs the relation that can’t find any work
The population of workers struggling to find a job is higher when the North is cut off from cities and factories the country needs to industrialize
BusinessThere’s Not Enough Workers by Namnam(op): 10:30pm On Oct 28, 2021
We’re a country of over 200 million and there’s only 62 million workers most of which are in the south that are expected to provide the needs of the whole country, how are we supposed to get the rest of the North productive and working instead of the endless conflicts going on up there
PoliticsRe: ***Who Are We To Thank Buhari Or Fashola For Constant Electrical Power by Namnam: 1:56pm On Oct 28, 2021
Yeah the Nigerian government has been increasing expenditures on infrastructure overall and electricity is one of them. Makes sense why your neighborhood is seeing more electricity and overtime more power will be supplied at an increasing rate as time passes
PoliticsRe: Osinbajo: Nigeria's Population Grows By 5 Million Annually by Namnam: 1:54pm On Oct 28, 2021
Okay but what’s the problem?

All of you understand that are population would’ve been growing a lot even if we were growing at 1 million or 50 right? What’s important is industrializing to feed more people not being concerned about population control as populations always increase wether or not a country faces a fertility crisis
PoliticsRe: How Do You Feel When You See Foreign Media Talking About Nigeria? by Namnam: 3:16am On Oct 28, 2021
Because it is strange
A little less than half of us live in rual communities.
We have the largest economy and population in Africa and a lot of ethnicities doing a lot of weird stuff
We’ve only had a functioning government for 22 years.
It’s reasonable to assume foreigners are gonna have mixed feelings about Nigeria
PoliticsAbout Lagos by Namnam(op): 1:56pm On Oct 27, 2021
That city is big extremely big 100s of kilometres big and based off population densities and when you account for migration and the fact that most of Lagoss population is young that means that that young population is gonna have kids while they’re still alive meaning that city is expected to quadruple in size from 21 million to 84 million easily becoming e largest city on the planet. How exactly do you guys think people will live in such a crowded environment, because I’ve never seen a city anywhere on the planet get that huge?

TravelRe: Commercial Flights To Begin At Anambra Airport On October 30 by Namnam: 4:41am On Oct 27, 2021
Well that’s good to hear and knowing the government has ramped up spending on infrastructure means shit like this is gonna happen more
PoliticsRe: Why Do Nigerian Tribes Hate Each Other But Refuse To Divide? by Namnam: 1:44am On Oct 27, 2021
Because a increasing portion of us live in cities and likewise aren’t subjective to living in tribe communities like Ethiopia but as citizens in a city run by whichever mayor. Well only get less divided as time passes and more of Nigeria urbanizes especially since the government just jacked up expenditures on public infrastructure
