Stay @ nnewi. My honda engine and gear been superb. Just some shaft issues which started when my inner cv joint failed continuously and driving with that vibrations killed the wheel bearing. Have changed mechanics 3 times will try another though. But that complete hub is expensive but have nt had lasting success changing the wheel bearings alone even when you tube videos suggest its a simple job.

Have bought original wheel bearings b4(must be got them from luvin hubby) and these people keeps messing the whole thing up. Sometimes they even fix it with the wrong side up. Latest i bought didn't have the magnetic abs sensor thingy. Guess am just unlucky

Have always had problems with over quack mechanics. And have never been successful in replacing a wheel bearing on my 2004 honda accord it doesn't last and in the end you will have to buy d complete hub with a belgium(used) wheel bearing which costs alot more. Has anyone been successful in changing just said wheel bearing on his car or honda accord? Any pointers on what to look out for?

I swear the nepa issue thing is the main reason i voted for buhari and had a heated argument with my dad who voted failure because he can afford buying disel. this is it. true life experience.
what people lack in the Nigerian community is information. the fear of the disease has eaten so deep into their hearts and what most pple do is avoid the carriers like a plague.
information is soo cheap but pple dont get it enough.
less level of stress, eat well veggies, fruits,lots of fluids, (water), use folic acid and they would be good.
im looking forward to that time when sicklers wont die again cos they can manage their health conditions properly.
shout out to all sicklers out there. i love them cos they are exceptionally brilliant. we cant blame God, no human being is perfect

Open up a thread on nairaland.com for people with relations and friends with heart retching stories about sickle cell disease and eventual deaths and you'd will know the struggle is real even in so called america or you think they randomly come out with life expectancy figures. But like i said i know its comforting to be hopeful. Just like our nigerian pastors have mastered telling you what you want to hear and never tell you your prayers might be delayed

I know, am talking about OP decision to go ahead with it. I just gave an example of people who knew the consequences and decided to try their luck. And it turned out bad. Funny enough ve seen AS couple who had all AS kids go figure. So I know the OP qualms is about wife's health and life expectancy and challenges(i know the kids will be fine). Which is a tough decision and i didn't try sugar coating it. Lesson learnt

You totally did not get me. Please am talking about the decision in question(ie to damn the odds and go ahead to marry despite being AS) . PS dying from a sickle cell related cause is differ from dying from other unknown or even known causes. Please stop this notion of everybody must die. Because its the same mentality that made my father's friends who are learned and both AS to marry each other . Their's was even better because there's actually hope but alas only one kid out of 4 is free. But noe people are wiser and have stopped playing God

Thanks ma'am. This is my longest post on any forum. I usually just observe but today i decided to say the hard truth am coming out looking like lucifer because i didn't sell hope. Even my ist post said some things about costly and careful management but still got shut down. If OP manages to marry said lady and she develops life threatening conditions (yea peeps its a possibility) these same hope sellers will sing a different tune. Now am not saying female sicklers shouldn't bother marrying but marry someone who understand that you might not be around for the foreseeable future and he has made his peace about that. God willing you might just cheat thid dreaded disease

I have seen a woman @ kabba in Kogi state that was married as ss, she has 3kids and she is till alive do she do have crisis but her husband stood by her.

Recently,(Dec 2014) a colleaque dat av been married since 2009 discovered dat their 2nd child was an SS. Ofcourse both parents did test b4 marriage hubby was AA and wife AS. Hubby did his own at UBTH but when d result of d baby came there was confusion and hubby had to go for another test and lo and behold it was AS. What will be d faith of dat child?

Madam, she can very well give birth to an health child. The main problem is Nigeria health system, with a good health care as obtainable in western nations, there is nothing to fear. Even in Nigeria, its possible, but we all know how bad the country's health system is.

We are not saying its not possible sickle cell is a morbidity and the risk of pregnancy related incident is high plus other relating acute or chronic complications. But like i said earlier its ok to hope and believe. You always say ve seen. Lemme tell you I've had many cases of sicklers die who were apparently well and apparently maintained a healthy life style. Now to call a spade a spade if you were to Hazard a guess what the proportion of living vs dead sicklers above 45 in nigeria. A research conducted (America) places that around 50%.

pls dnt decive him...gettin up to 25 is ok bt d chance of survival after 25 is vry low specially time of givin birth, dats wer d problem is cos her immune cant carry full pregnancy xcept shes operated on prematurely which is alwys dficult for both mother & child.
my advice to d guy is sacrifice for her sake to know if she can av a baby b4 her time is up bt its alwys dficult,d girl mite probably need him now snc hes AA....love is abt sacrifice.

This is exactly reasoning behind "i have seen mentality" bros visit any tertiary medical facilities and see a sickler in crisis then maybe you'd change your mind and know that you've been seeing miracles(although i highly doubt your 75 grandma story seeing that medical advances weren't available then) but lets say its possible. Its a miracle if a pastor heals one because he/she has faith but you won't inquire about the thousands of failed healings but you'd be singing that one praise. See all it takes is one crisis and you'd be a believe. I didnt say that some don't survive above their life expectancy but that life expectancy is there for a reason. But like I said some like living dangerously behind love conquers all and hope. Who am i to tell you what to do with your life. Am even sure the OP parents will advice him further. If hes up to the challenge then good luck but you people shouldn't come here and make it look like a walk in the park

My sibling has a child aged 3 years as at now, living in an environment of -35 degrees temperature and she's VERY FINE.
Give me another excuse, I know it needs intensive care to maintain but Sickle cell is not a death sentence like you're advertising it, its just a health condition that can be maintained to even perfection.
You said you're a doctor but you only told the OP everything negative about what you think, there is nothing in your post on how it could be managed. A doctor should profess hope NOT doom.

Sorry but like I said earlier what would you have told the op if the question was "my girl is AS same as me should I marry her?" its good you see the HOPE side but am a realist and i don't want to sound pessimistic but living your life based on hope is not living.
