The tracker guy for the car that I called told me ‘He needs to do maintenance’ on the tracker but I feel like he just wants to make quick money on me based on the huge sum he is charging.
Cos it obviously says ‘Password fail’

The tracker person changed the password and wants to be charging you routine maintenance

I wouldn't trust those cheap elm scanners for the any other system than the vehicle's engine. They only show generic gearbox codes.

Example if our human body was a vehicle's gearbox system and we were to scan it for problem codes the below is what it will show you . . .

If there is an issue with the smallest toe on your left leg and scan with that elm scanner it will only show you a code for LEG , it won't narrow it down to the specific leg or toe causing the issue.

If there is an issue with your ring finger it will only show you a code for HAND , it won't narrow it down to the specific arm or finger causing the issue.

If there is an issue with your right eye and scan with that elm scanner it will only show you a code for HEAD , it won't narrow it down to tell you if its your eye, ear, nose or brain causing the issue.

So as you can see, using such a scanner for troubleshooting gearbox faults is going to be a very long thing undecided except you're a specialised mechanic already.

cc. Onyeka90210

That's the reason I said some gear codes. I changed my transmission last year but unfortunately my d light was flashing after the change. The car was moving well and no check engine light before and after the change. Because I used to believe the cheap elm scanner can't detect a faulty d flashing I went to scan the car at a friend with a better scanner and ut showed only one fault code. I can't remember said code again. After leaving his place I just connected the elm scanner and scanned the honda accord and behold it showed exact same code, we fixed the problem with an electronic contact cleaner and flashing d light went away. I've since bought an all system scanner but I was still impressed that the cheap elm was able to see that code. Also the cheap elm scanner does live reading as well and with some custom pids it can actually do a lot with some car brands. It's doesn't scan other system like abs etc but it's still better than nothing. And with its price you can afford to put it in every car you own

Does this elm 327 really scan the gearbox for fault codes? I had one before that was only useful for bringing out engine codes alone. How come yours can scan gearbox?

I use one and it can scan some transmission related codes.

I currently have two types in my house.

The first one is a 12v DC & 220v AC 50inch, plastic blades with rated power of 33w max for AC and 28w max for DC. It has 5 speed control on the remote with the lowest speed of 10w (this is the speed we normally use in the house). Middle speed is 20w.
The second one is a 12v DC & 220v AC 56inch, metal blades with the rated power of 45w max for AC and 33w max for DC. Remote speed control is 5 with the lowest speed of 18w ( this is the one we normally use) and it blows very well.

Make and model for both?

The guy called two different installers and he was told the system will not power the stated loads.

hmm

you guys still on this.

see I know what we say matters BUT , I'm yet to see where I got it wrong.

I also AGREE No One KNOWs it ALL

I used a phone as example, and we all knows it's difficult seeing a 5-volts, 400A phone charger BUT that was just to back up my talk that Current is drawn, while Voltage flows in.

It was a general talk not focusing on anything in particular, not even focusing on Lead Acid batteries the question was asked under.

So if you want to proove me wrong, please supply evidence (with notable Links), to back it up.

When I see something as RED, and GOD comes calling it WHITE, He has to really PROVE it else I no go gree. Not even because He's a God sef would make me blindly accept.

1. No lithium cells comes with a BMS: I disAgree with you here, both from personal experience, and from asking Aunty Google.com. I have built (not assemble/couple) a lot of things Sir. Also I have torn things apart right from my childHood days. Anyways, see Aunty google's response when asked https://www.google.com/search?q=do+lithium+cells+come+with+bms

2. A 5v with 400A source connected to a phone will sure blow it up as the current limiting diodes will fail at some point if not immediately: Rather than drop my opinion, which you obviously wouldn't accept, let me drop you a link. you're free to search more similar links https://www.physicsforums.com/threads/will-a-high-current-3-1a-destroy-smartphone-battery.789365/

3. A lead acid Max charge current needs to set on the charger to avoid spoiling the battery : Well don't want to say you're entirely RIGHT here. Because I know leadAcidBatteries have 3-stages of charge namely bulk, absorption, and float. and the current ain't constant in all these stages.

In battery charger, Current is being limited, else the Connected battery would try to draw as much current as it needs (Recall I said numerous times already that Current is DRAWN, while VOLTAGE flows in)

I no say I no study Elect / Elect or do BoyBoy for electrician, but that one no mean say the small one wey I sabi, I no sabi am well.

I remember seeing a YouTube video where someone made a custom iPhone charger with 100 chargers connected to one port then to the iPhone and it charged normally.

Here just found it

Experts in the house, please I need your help.

I drive an Honda EOD 2006 V4.

Sometimes in July this year, while driving, I noticed the car temperature on the dashboard was very high. I stopped the car and checked the engine. I noticed the engine oil had spilled all over the car engine and there was also oil coming from the radiator. The mechanic claimed the gasket was blown and needs changing. He changed the gasket and topped the engine oil. He further checked the gear oil and other oil in the car to ensure they were all gauged. I thought the issue was over till I started noticing huge creamy oil coming from the radiator and also the engine oil was getting short within days of topping it. The mechanic noticed water is not entering the engine but oil is mixing with the radiator water. In August, I bought 3 big kegs of Mobil2000 synthetic oil and all drained out through the radiator. I have consulted several mechanics and at this point, they don't know what the issue is because they've checked every possible leakage in the engine and could not find any. They also placed a paper underneath the car to observe if there is leakage under the car but there is none.

Does anyone who have experienced such kindly suggest a possible solution. I'd also appreciate suggestions from anyone with a knowledge to fixing this issue. I have spent so much on the car already and I am tired.

Head gasket change not done properly

If we remove the equipment cost, starlink is just the best option out there. I live in Ekiti where even the LTE works like 3g in terms of throughput. Starlink has made internet connectivity make sense here. It also recovers fast when it's raining and that little downtime works fine for me.

I basically stream every every, and by the way they claim that throttling will start from 1tb, I have tried monthly to reach 1tb just to test that out. Here is the closest I have gotten.

There's no Throttling

Some inverter fan come on based on temp, unfortunately some come on based on load. So nothing wrong with yours. I guess you're using An axpert inverter. I have same "problem" too

Microwaves don't surge. I use same lg microwave on my 3kw inverter

I've seen some videos telling us that 5kva 48v Felicity Hybrid Inverter (Ivem5048) consume less than 40w on idle mode.
I carried out the test on mine by shutting down everything in my house, leaving only the inverter on and my Victron BMV 712 recorded 72w.
I've also used clamp meter to take the amps reading of the cable and multiply with the voltage and I got the same 72w.
I've concluded that Felicity Ivem5048 consumed 72w on idle mode.

Thought as much as it looks like it has a transformer

Sorry to take you back to this post but I have to ask because the NEPA guys did the same thing with our street box (can’t remember what it is called) that kept blowing a fuse.

I don’t understand why you would replace the AC breaker (particularly AC-in) with one with a higher capacity in this situation. Isn’t the job of the 63a breaker to trip if the current goes above 63A? Isn’t the real question why didn’t the 63A breaker trip? Isn’t putting in a breaker of a higher capacity going to allow more current to flow potentially causing more damage in the event of a fault? If a 63A breaker could not prevent a fire, how is a higher capacity breaker supposed to?

Going back to the issue we used to have with the NEPA panel on my street, here was a time we had a problem of over voltage/overcurrent or whatever they call it and whenever the NEPA fuse blew, they kept using copper wire of a thicker gauge to bridge the failed fuse than the rated capacity, the result was that it would also blow fuses in the houses of residents of the street, they would then do the same thing (adding thicker copper bridge) to the fuses that blew in residents homes. The explanation I was given at the time was that putting a fuse higher than the rating (which is effectively what NEPA boys do by increasing the thickness of the copper wire) allowed current that was supposed to be halted at the NEPA panel to feed through to residents houses and in turn blow our fuses and for some of us who had in turn had their fuse capacity increased with the adding thicker copper wire method, blow equipment in the house. Since the actual proper fuse for the street NEPA box was installed and the fuses in our homes derated to the proper rating, we’ve not had the problem of excess current feeding into residents houses or fuses blowing.

Please correct me if I am wrong but something tells me the problem is not the rating of 63 A fuse or maybe the fuse was defective or poor quality. The idea of a breaker is to stop current above its rating going through. Sounds to me the 63A fuse was defective because it is not supposed to allow any current above 63 to pass through. I am not saying it is wrong, I am not an electrician and by knowledge does not go beyond the basics I learnt in school, I am trying to understand the science behind putting in a higher rating fuse.

From my layman’s understanding even if the breaker was not the right capacity for your system , it should still have just done it’s job and tripped not cause a fire. Looks to me like on the day, you had a NEPA surge and the breaker failed to do its job whether it was undersized or not. If a surge has not happened since, then putting in a higher rate breaker may seem to have cured the problem but that also may be only because you have not had a reoccurrence of what caused the surge. But if my thought process is right, going by the experience on my street, if you have a reoccurrence, your higher capacity breaker is only going to allow more current to pass through. If it was a defective breaker and the new one is of the same manufacturer and quality, what says it will work especially now it will allow even higher current before it’s break point?

This is like a having a small boat with a hole in it that can carry few passengers that sinks and then replacing it with a bigger boat that can carry more passengers but also has a hole in it, they are both going to sink if placed in the right circumstances, the only difference is having a bigger boat allows you to have more passengers on board to drown.

Yea you are right. Fault could have been from arcing from wires not properly torqued. Change of breaker is not the fix

Abegi what does it mean by limited edition on PlayStation consoles? For example playstation 4 slim COD: WWii limited edition

It means the console and sometimes the controller was designed with color designs and sometimes themes to match the cod ww2 for example. It's still the same console just designed to look like it was made for that particular game edition hence the term limited edition. You might as well buy stickers and create your own limited fifa or God of war edition lol. Sometimes it can come with booklet or maybe a map or other stuff but gameplay and performance wise, it's same thing as other bland consoles
