Elusive001: I laugh at those who hope on Dangote. Which coastal logistics again are the talking about? Please, can someone explain what coastal logistics are to me?
naptu2: Another thread that exposes people that can't read and understand simple texts.
In simple English
Dangote did not say that they are going to increase prices. It was simply describing its operations.
It said that it has the ability to load 2,900 tanker trucks with fuel everyday.
It also said that customers can also choose to receive fuel bh ships.
However it said that receiving fuel by ships is more expensive because of port charges, etc.
It said that receiving fuel by ship could add as much as ₦75 and bring the cost of fuel to around ₦1,000 per litre.
That's all it said.
Now ask yourself, how do most dealers receive fuel? Is it by ship or by tanker truck? |

Ochyes: Running consecutively. Does it mean he will be serving 10 years only? Please somebody should explain. Consecutively means that he will serve the first ten years, then the second ten years and so on until he has served 490 years. |

There are many dams in the south-west that were conceived in the late 1970s and early 1980s and they have the potential to generate electricity, but most of them have been abandoned. These include:
Ikere Gorge Dam (Oyo) Oyan Dam (Ogun)
Ogbese Dam (Ekiti) |

Ikere Gorge Dam
The Ikere Gorge Dam is a major earth-fill dam in Iseyin local government area of Oyo State in the south west of Nigeria on the Ogun River. Reservoir capacity is 690 million m3. The dam was initiated by the military regime of General Olusegun Obasanjo and started in 1983 by the administration of Shehu Shagari. The dam was planned to generate 37.5 MW of electricity, to supply water to local communities and to Lagos and to irrigate 12,000 hectares of land. Built in 1982/1983, work on the dam was abandoned by subsequent military governments. A report for the UN in 2004 said that, no irrigation had taken place so far, but efforts were being made to implement one of the five planned irrigation projects. The project was based on the sprinkler system which is difficult to manage and requires that the farmers be trained.
Failed hydropower project
The dam was built to support a hydropower project, but due to equipment shortages and environmental changes, the project has remained a mirage. Additionally, it has an impact on fish farming.
The majority of local residents lack access to power. A 33-KVA rural electrification project in the region was launched by the federal government years ago. However, the only remaining traces of that endeavor are the concrete poles.
The first elected president of Nigeria, Shehu Shagari, had a hydropower project planned with the dam in the 1980s that was also scrapped. Even the German business Garbe, Lahmeyer & Co., which produced the two turbines used to generate electricity from the dam, went out of business in 1993.
As a result of the 40-year abandonment of the project, the multi-million equipment including alternators, two turbines of 3-MW each and other electrical components are now rusty. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikere_Gorge_Dam

FG CONCESSIONS IKERE GORGE DAM IN OYO STATE FOR HYDROPOWER GENERATION
The Federal Government has officially handed over the 6MW Ikere Gorge Hydropower Plant, located in Iseyin, to Messrs Quaint Power and Infrastructure Nigeria under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) concession arrangement in Oyo State.
The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation Prof. Joseph Utsev and Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu performed the handover ceremony.
The Minister of Water Resources and Sanitation, described the concession as a significant milestone in the Federal Government’s drive to bridge infrastructure financing gaps and enhance sustainable power generation through private sector participation.
Prof Utsev commended the vision behind the establishment of the Infrastructure Concession Regulatory Commission (ICRC), noting its critical role in ensuring transparency, value for money, and efficiency in PPP-driven infrastructure development, emphasized the importance of leveraging private sector expertise and capital to complement public investments. He noted that the Ikere Gorge Hydropower Plant is the product of a long-standing collaboration between the Federal Ministry of Water Resources and Sanitation and the Federal Ministry of Power, dating back to 2012, aimed at harnessing Nigeria’s hydropower potential
The Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to private sector-driven growth in the power sector, describing the handover as a new chapter in sustainable energy development.
He noted that the Ikere Gorge Dam, initially developed for water supply and irrigation, is now being repositioned as a strategic asset for clean and renewable energy generation. https://x.com/i/status/2019082814654656970

Even if you are ignorant and don't know Matthew Page, Nairaland has helped you by providing links above the page (see screenshot below).
But then again, how can people that cannot understand a simple article understand what those links are for?

I have always enjoyed interactions that involve Matthew Page.
He is a long time critic of all Nigerian governments, so PDP supporters hated him and APC supporters loved him when Goodluck Jonathan was president and then APC supporters hated him and PDP supporters loved him when Muhammadu Buhari was president.
He once worked for the US intelligence services and some of his Nigerian opponents have accused him of being a CIA officer. |

SixSeven: “He who laughs alone at his knowledge may be laughing at his own folly.” Yes, I was right. All through he has resorted to insults because he has nothing sensible to say. Remember that I did not describe him. He described himself in his first post to me. Remember what I do to people who have nothing sensible to contribute to my threads and who only come to attack me? Yes, I block them permanently. I have already helped his type to understand what the article was actually about, but I don't know if he'll see it before he gets blocked. |

What Matthew Page said in that article is similar to what the PDP guy that I quoted below said. There are slight differences, but the basic idea is the same. Matthew Page said that the Nigerian Government has miraculously converted Trump's threat to bomb Nigeria into something that is beneficial to the government. He said that Nigeria has suffered a long period of insecurity and much of that is the government's fault. He said that government officials have stolen funds that was meant for security, the people have been deprived, etc. He said that the insecurity has weakened groups that usually oppose government and has made it easier for the government to coerce the people. He said that this is not the first time this is happening. He said that the United States provided military assistance to Nigeria after the Chibok girls were kidnapped. He warns that, as happened back then, Nigerian government officials could use this help for their personal benefit. He said that the Nigerian Government provided targetting information that the US used for its missile strike and it was actually Lakurawa that was hit not ISWAP. He said that the Nigerian Government would have to give Donald Trump symbolic wins if it wants to continue to have good relations with him. naptu2: 2) There's a guy that does not like Bola Tinubu at all and he wrote something. He wrote that thing because of his dislike for Tinubu, yet hidden in what he wrote is a small grain of truth. He was criticising the Obidients because they were campaigning that Donald Trump should kidnap Tinubu. The guy wrote why he believed that that would never happen (the guy obviously does not like both Trump and Tinubu). Hidden beneath the guy's anger is a surprising grain of truth.
naptu2: OK, let's see if I can remember what he said.
Basically he was criticising Obidients that believe that Donald Trump will invade Nigeria and kidnap Bola Tinubu. He said that Trump and Tinubu are alike. He believes that they are both corrupt politicians and he believes that they will do a deal.
He also had heavy criticism for Obidients that support Trump. |
