What Reno exposed about their traditional outfit was very embarrassing, to say the least.
I think they should go back to the drawing board and CODEDLY devise a new authentic traditional outfit for themselves.
What do you guys think? 🤔
I suspect that this is part of the silly wars that you guys fight, but:
1) The Igbos do not have to devise anything. They already have their traditional clothes, in fact they have lots of traditional clothes (I am not referring to isi agu). Have you heard of Akwa Ocha or Akwete??
2) Culture is dynamic, it is not static. It changes and evolves over time. Culture is the way of life of a people at a given point in time. The fact that Igbos did not wear isi agu 200 years ago does not mean that they cannot wear it now (there is nothing wrong with it).
The Finnish foreign minister was part of a delegation of Nordic foreign ministers that visited Nigeria in August. Nigerian journalists besieged her to find out what Finland was doing about Simon Ekpa.
She said that the Finnish Government was taking action on his case and that the matter was before the courts.
Simon Ekpa later tweeted that it was a lie and that he had no matter before the courts. I guess now he knows better.
UEFA has opened an investigation after Bunny Shaw was hit by an object yesterday night.
naptu2: Please help me judge these good and bad things
Ladies and gentlemen, it's the Bunny Shaw Show!
Two spectacular goals by Khadija Bunny Shaw away in Sweden have taken Manchester City into the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League.
However, there was an ugly incident and a surprising incident and I'm glad it was included in the highlights.
Bunny Shaw scored the first goal, then she went to celebeate beside the goalpost as she usually does, but one of the Swedish fans threw a coin at her. It struck her, but thankfully there was no injury.
But believe it or not, the referee showed her a yellow card.
Do you think she did anything wrong? Do you think that she deserves the yellow card?
I appreciate the impressive feedback from you. I had earlier searched online today for more video evidence (using different search keywords) but ONLY found this one video that I attached. It's good to know that other documented videos exist that the Beninoise can provide so that CAF can take action and these Libyan guys of Bedouin Arab lineage will realize that they are NOT untouchable!
A significant number of ill-educated Arabs naturally have warped egos and look down on Africans from the South of the Sahara due to the fact that the Arabs enslaved people from especially the West, Central, and East Africa for centuries where they were taken to Oman, North Africa, Turkey, Yemen, Arabia, etc, to work on plantations and to be used in their harems as sex slaves. So, they use a racial slur called "ab*ed" (or slave) to describe any "Brown-skinned" African till today. An African-American Muslim dude raised up the same issue about the use of that slur online and Farooq Kperogi wrote about the anger of African-Americans who found the Arab use of that "ab*ed" slur highly distasteful.
So, you can't rule out such narcissistic sentiments from the Libyans which led to the attacks on the Beninoise. If it was their fellow Arab counterparts from another country that defeated them, would the Libyan hooligans and Libyan police have done what they did to the Beninoise team and their coach? I don't think so.
Thanks for your input here.
Video of the players running from the pitch into the tunnel as they were pelted with missiles.
This kind of behaviour is common in North Africa and they even do it to each other. Remember the 2009 battle between Egypt and Algeria during World Cup qualifications?
The attempts to derail the thread have gone from Northerners to Yorubas and Lagos, (and they've all been wrong) yet the people that are compiling the lists are Igbo.
The video right above is the ONLY scene of the Beninoise soccer team in their bus in Libya. It was also posted on X. So, the Beninoise have to come up with MORE iron-clad video evidence to show that they were truly physically attacked and sustained severe body injuries from the Libyan hooligans and the Libyan police so that CAF can slam the heavy "sanctions hammer" on Libya.
I saw many videos of the attacks yesterday. Some of the videos show the Benenoise players running into the tunnel as they were being pelted with bottles and stones from the crowd in the stadium. One video shows Gernot Rohr explaining what happened to them and I've also seen this video of the bus. Some other videos show injured Benenoise players.
There's a lot of evidence.
The Benenoise also said that they were held hostage at the airport.
I know most of your usernames (not all) and I do not read your posts. I hit the back button as soon as I see your names on my mentions tab. So quoting or mentioning me is a waste of time. I won't read it.
