I am familiar with Melagros. He's just a troll. He always tries to provoke people, pick fights and derail threads. That's why I didn't read his post. I am familiar with his methods.
They failed yesterday and they have failed again today.
richie240: In what way was Onanuga wrong based on the facts that NASS invited Pbat to address a joint session, which Onanuga later relayed verbatim??
The fact that Ajuri lived in US is irrelevant in this matter, and u know!
I've already given him the benefit of doubt in my previous post that he was probably unaware of the prevailing circumstances but simply fell into the trap of '5th columnists' who used d opportunity of d miscommunication btw the two spokesmen to throw 'dotti' at the apc-led govt. Ajuri may not have willingly thrown Onanuga under d bus. Where I may fault him is if he knew that the source was Bayo but failed to discuss d matter with him before goofing. But if he's aware, then he's wrong 100%
I'll give it one last try, if you don't get it this time, good luck to you.
1) It could be that you did not understand my first post. This is not a competition between Bayo Onanuga and Ajuri. It's about what actually happened
2) The Presidency did not schedule a joint address for President Tinubu because May 29th is not Democracy Day.
3) Ajuri Ngelale is President Tinubu's spokesman and he saw an unauthorised statement that President Tinubu was going to address a joint sitting of the National Assembly. He stated that this was false and the President was not going to address a joint sitting. He was in the United States at the time.
4) President Tinubu went to the National Assembly, but did not address a joint sitting of the National Assembly
5) The Speaker of the House of Representatives stated that the National Assembly had invited the President to address a joint sitting, but the President corrected them that all ceremonies will take place on June 12, which is Democracy Day.
6) Bayo Onanuga works for the President, not the National Assembly
2. They are in same field rendering almost the same 'information/communication' service to Mr. President, the worst Ajuri would've done was to contact onanuga about the issue - assuming the latter was wrong.
3. I'll give Njuri the benefit of doubt that he didn't purposely throw Onanuga under the bus, but that those who've been looking for the opportunity to rabble-rouse simply used the opportunity of the miscommunication between the two to cause rift BTW them and also to paint the APC-led FG - which they hate in the first place - in bad light.
Whether you think it holds water or not is irrelevant.
1) The National Assembly invited President Tinubu to address a joint session on May 29th
2) Bayo Onanuga announced that President Tinubu was going to address a joint session.
3) Ajuri Ngelale (who is in the US and who is President Tinubu's official spokesman) announced that he did not authorise any release and that President Tinubu was not going to address a joint session.
4) President Tinubu told the Speaker of the House that he is reserving all ceremonies for June 12th, which is the actual Democracy Day. He only went to the National Assembly to commission the new library and sign some bills.
5) The Speaker informed the media that it was the National Assembly that made a mistake and that President Tinubu corrected them.
IbrahimSola: Don't try this rough play again o. How dare you add the last name? Have you visited CRS before? I
I refuse to believe that all these people cannot read. I suspect that they planned to attack this thread by posting things that are at variance with what is written on the thread and they plan to just keep repeating the same thing over and over.
British ambassador to Mexico sacked after 'pointing gun at staff'
Jon Benjamin was reportedly on an official trip when he picked up a gun in the vehicle he was travelling in. The Foreign Office said it had taken "appropriate action" after the incident.
Saturday 1 June 2024
The British ambassador to Mexico has been removed from the post after a video emerged online of him apparently pointing an assault rifle at an embassy employee.
The video, shared on social media, shows Jon Benjamin pointing the firearm at a person whose face has been blurred out.
"In a context of daily killings in Mexico by drug dealers, he dares to joke," reads a post accompanying the clip.
On Friday, the Financial Times reported the ambassador had been removed from his post after the incident, which reportedly happened during an official trip to the states of Durango and Sinaloa in April.
Both states have a high presence of drug cartels.
Mexico has a long history of cartel violence, with around 30,000 murders a year.
"We are aware of this incident and have taken appropriate action," a spokesman for the UK Foreign Office said.
"Where internal issues do arise, the FCDO has robust HR processes to address them."
Mr Benjamin's LinkedIn page says his term as ambassador ended in May, and a biography posted on the government website for the United Kingdom notes he "was UK Ambassador to Mexico between 2021 and 2024".
According to the Foreign Office website, Mr Benjamin "joined the Diplomatic Service in 1986, and previously represented the British government in Chile, Ghana, Turkey, Indonesia, and the United States, during his career".
naptu2: What happened is very clear, but many of those people won't understand it because they are not good at understanding basic details.
Bayo Onanuga released a statement that the President would address a joint sitting of the National Assembly.
Ajuri Ngelale released a statement that the President would not address a joint sitting of the National Assembly.
People saw the President at the National Assembly and said that Bayo Onanuga was right, but actually Ajuri Ngelale was right. How?
The Speaker of the House said (and I had already figured out that) the National Assembly invited the President to address a joint session, but the President corrected them and reminded them that all ceremonies will take place on June 12th, which is Democracy Day. So all that the President did was to commission the new library and sign the National Anthem bill into law.
Paraman: I'm impress with their performance. But are those really Rivers Hoopers players? They all look fresh compared to their counterpart in the NPFL
They are Rivers Hoopers players and they are mostly Nigerian. This season teams are allowed to have no more than 4 foreign players, of those 4 no more than 2 can be non-Africans.
Rivers Hoopers has 2 foreigners, one American and one Frenchman (listed as a Moroccan).
