WARNING: GRAPHIC VIDEO OF THE SHOOTING

The victim was soaked in blood and he was trying to run, but he was too weak to run. His assailants walked up to him, one of them was using his phone camera to record his face, then another of the gangsters shot him dead.

(Twitter users are advising the girls that recorded this video that they should flee because the gangsters might be looking for them).

This is the reaction of the Police Public Relations Officer to the video.

Cult clash: Abia govt deploys security operatives to ABSU

By Steve Oko

Abia State Government said it had deployed security operatives to Abia State University Uturu, ABSU, over a cult clash around the campus that allegedly claimed the life of a student Monday afternoon.

Commissioner for Information, Prince Okey Kanu, who disclosed this during a press briefing in Umuahia, said the action of Government was to forestall further break down of law and order in the campus.

He explained that as a proactive Government, the Gov. Alex Otti-led administration decided to deploy security agents around the university to help arrest the situation.

Adding his voice, Special Adviser to the Governor on Media and Publicity, Mr Ferdinand Ekeoma, said that the State Government was still expecting briefing from security agencies on what exactly happened.

Ekeoma who said Government’s intention was to put the situation under control first, advised students to abstain from activities capable of escalating the situation.

Meanwhile, the Information Commissioner has said that 27 roads projects are currently on-going across the state, adding that work is at various stages of completion.

He said that the Governor places high premium on road infrastructure as the major enabler to other developments.

The Commissioner also said that Government had set up a Committee on Monitoring and Evaluation, to ensure the state gets value for money spent on any project.

On the forthcoming medical mission by the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas, ANPA, the Commissioner said that over 2500 patients had register for the free medical care by the ANPA team.

He said about 5000 patients would be attended to during the exercise slated for April 4 to 14.

The Commissioner urged residents with serious health challenges to register for screening at the designated centres ahead of the exercise.

Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr Chinedu Ekeke; and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Mr Ugochukwu Okarafor, were present at the meeting.

Abia varsity undergraduate dies during cult clash

The Abia State Government confirmed on Monday the death of an Abia State University student during a cult clash over the weekend.

Briefing newsmen on Monday, after the week’s State Executive Council meeting chaired by the state governor, Alex Otti, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Okey Kanu, said, “It has come to the notice of the state government about skirmishes in Abia State University, Uturu, between student groups where a student lost his life.

“Some remedial actions have been taken to return normalcy (in the institution). The state government has dispatched some security agencies to Abia State University Uturu.”

He advised students to refrain from violence and face their studies.

Reports have it that tensions are high at the school following a renewed outbreak of violence between two rival cult groups, which left a 400-level student dead.

Eyewitnesses said that the victim, who is a 400-level History and International Relations student, was attacked by members of a rival group within the university area, which led to his death.

However, this incident has significantly escalated tensions on campus after the cult clash.

All efforts to get school authorities to speak were not possible due to a bad network.

However, the state Commissioner of Police, Kenechukwu Onwumelie, said the police are aware of the matter and “is investigating the incident.”

The Flying Eagles went into the game on the back of a 2-1 loss to Uganda.

They Flying Eagles will take on Senegal in their final group game on Friday.

Once more there was a lot of entertainment on this thread.

The topic was clear and straightforward, but people tried all kinds of tricks to avoid it.

The statement was made by Chief Oseloka Obaze, who is a ckose associate of Peter Obi and was the secretary to the state government, but some people decided to be funny and to attack me as if I made the statement. They should have known by now that doing that is a complete waste of time and will achieve nothing.

Some others asked why are people talkkng about Obi when he is not the president. Does he have to be the president before people talk about him? Don't people talk about El-Rufai, Fashola, Rochas and other politicians? Are they the president? That statement makes no sense at all.

In fact, a lot of the statements on this thread make no sense at all, but they are a good source of laughter and entertainment.

Who is Oseloka Obaze?

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Peter Obi's structure (this post is from November 2022).

naptu2:
Since that guy doesn't want to play, I am going to post my answers here.

As I said, there are many prominent politicians that have defected to the Labour Party since Peter Obi moved there. Some of them have moved to the Labour Party because they are part of Peter Obi's structure, some moved because, although they are not part of Peter Obi's structure, they believe in his message, some moved to the Labour Party because they see an opportunity to build structures in a smaller party (something that they could not do in their previous parties) and some have moved because they lost out in the politics of their previous parties.

I will begin with the people that I mentioned in my previous posts. These are people that are part of Peter Obi's structure.

Oseloka Obaze worked as a diplomat in the Nigerian Foreign Service from 1982 till 1991. He then worked for the United Nations from 1991 till 2012. He was appointed secretary to the Anambra State Government by Governor Peter Obi in 2012. He was the PDP candidate in the Anambra governorship elections in 2017 and Peter Obi campaigned heavily for him.

Valentine Ozigbo is a former banker who was made CEO of Transcorp Hotels PLC and then CEO of the Transcorp Group. He was the PDP candidate in the 2021 Anambra governorship elections and Peter Obi campaigned heavily for him.

Valentine Obienyem is a lawyer and a journalist who has served as special assistant to many ministers and heads of government agencies. He was special assistant on new media to Governor Peter Obi

These others are not part of Peter Obi's structure, but they have defected to the Labour Party.

Dr Doyin Okupe: was a House of Representatives candidate of the NPN in 1983. He was the national publicity secretary of the NRC in the early 1990s. He was a media assistant to Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan. He was an Ogun State governorship aspirant on the platform of the PDP. In fact, he was a presidential aspirant on the platform of the PDP until a few months ago when he defected to the Labour Party and became the director general of Peter Obi's campaign organisation.

The guy asked for 5 people that have defected to the Labour Party and who have also previously won elections. Here they are.

Victor Umeh was a member of the PDP at the beginning of the 4th Republic, but he left the PDP in 2001 to take up positions in the APGA. He held various positions in APGA and rose to become the national chairman of the party. He was national chairman of APGA when Peter Obi became governor of Anambra State. In fact, it was during his tenure that the party had two governors, Peter Obi of Anambra and Rochas Okorocha of Imo. He was also a member of the 2014 National Conference.

He left the chairmanship of APGA in 2015 and in 2018 he was elected and sworn in as the senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District.

Victor Umeh is currently the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 Anambra Central senatorial election.

Tony Nwoye is a medical doctor who was Anambra State chairman of the PDP. He was elected into the Federal House of Representatives to represent Anambra East/West constituency in 2011. He was the PDP candidate in the 2013 Anambra governorship election and was also the APC candidate in the 2017 Anambra governorship election.

Dr Tony Nwoye is currently the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 Anambra North senatorial election.

Ezenwa Francis Onyewuchi was once a member of APGA and the PDP. He was elected to the House of Representatives in 2015 to represent Owerri Municipal/Owerri North/Owerri West Federal Constituency. He was elected to the Senate in 2019 to represent Imo East Senatorial District. He is currently the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 Imo East senatorial election.

Daniel Nanbol is the member of the Plateau State House of Assembly representing Langtang North Central district. He has also defected to the Labour Party.

George Ozodinobi Ibezimako was elected to represent Njikoka/Anaocha/Dunukofia Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives on the platform of APGA in 2003. He was an aspirant for the same position on the platform of the PDP just a few months ago. He resigned from the PDP and defected to the Labour Party and is currently the Labour Party candidate in the 2023 election for the same post.
