I now understand fully your predicament . My daughter called me today to inform me that STANBIC via email, notified her of changes/new limitations of her naira cards abroad. From tomorrow, the limit on daily/monthly atm withdrawal is $100 (for blue, gold, silver card holders) while monthly web/POS limit is now $300. shocked

That sucks
I was leaving my current residence because of the $300 limit to a cheaper place. I woke up this morning to see the sad email from Stanbic ibtc now even the cheaper place I can pay for it.

Answer these questions
1. Where are you?
2. Where's the money coming in from?
3. After exchanging, what currency would you want the money to be in?
1. I'm in SA
2. From my Stanbic ibtc acc
3. South African Rand

Okay, that's cool as well.
Now I'm confused again. Since I'm sending the money to myself in a different (foreign) account. How I'm I supposed to withdraw it? Can I open another skrill account for the foreign account I want to withdraw from.

Too bad. Call or email Stanbic again and explain your predicament to them. Better still have one of your parents visit a branch preferably their head office in Nigeria to have a chat with them.

I don't know anyone in Port Elizabeth. My daughter schools in Cape Town and does not have money issues as she went with GTB, access and stanbic cards plus the occasional naira transfer, rands cash transaction.

SorryO
Thanks!!

Choose USD not Naira as you will be transacting majorly in dollars.
Okay thanks. I think I'll choose ZAR instead of USD since I'm in SA I'm not looking forward to use USD. 1 USD is 13.6 ZAR also 1 ZAR is 21 NGN.

Open a Skrill account and upload funds from your Naira card to your skrill account, then add your foreign bank account and transfer the uploaded funds to it
I tried opening a skrill account, I selected the location (Nigeria) but the currency (Naira) is not among the options.

Which bank? You don't have more than one atm? Sorry o.

Stanbic gives the best rates anyways. Also did you inform your bank you were travelling BEFORE leaving Naija? Could be a reason for your predicament.

Dunno where u are in SA but just ask around from any Nigerian especially Igbo genuine business men etc the ones that operate Nigerian restaurants and food stuff.

Pele.
I use Stanbic ibtc. a day before I left I went to the bank to inform them, the lady just said it's fine you can use the ATM there. After one month of using the ATM here the acc was suspended because of the series of use of ATM from unfamiliar location I called them and they said it's because I didn't notify them. Then I got them to fix it, ever since my acc has been giving me headache. It rejects payment on POS which I was using before, i don't get to withdraw the monthly $300 equivalent even when I'm using standard bank ATM. I live in Port Elizabeth. The only Nigerians I know here are in school they receive cash through their parents sending from dorm acc.

Pay with POS as much as possible. POS allows up to $1500 monthly. ATM withdrawals are however limited to $200 to $400 daily depending on bank.

Also, there are some Nigerians who can give you rands cash and you transfer the naira equivalence to their Nigerian bank account, if you do Internet banking(face to face transaction Adviced!) @ Randburg etc
My account is all messed up after using $200 on ATM I can't withdraw anymore or use POS then at the last quarter of the month it goes back working but I still can't use POS. Where is randburg I'd like to try out this option you suggested

Hello guys am held in a bit of stalemate. I didn't open a dormicilliary acc before leaving naija. Now I'm only allowed to withdraw $300pm from my Naira MasterCard. I need to use more than that. I was thinking there are those methods PayPal and etc I could open and transfer my funds into them and from that, transfer it back to my foreign acc. I need Infos pls.

Hey guys just want to ask this quick. I've been having problems landing the aircraft on both landing gears during cross wind. One tire lands before the other does or there's bit of impact (not much though) or ballooning when flaring.. I flew 1hr solo yesterday and was a crosswind. I apply the rudder and Ailerons correctly when coming in to land (crab method). During normal conditions my landings are perfect. So I just wanna know if it's normal.

If you are type rated, it's usually faster cos if you aren't rated, it means they may be have to sponsor you for training abroad something they don't do often...

Believe me, it's not crazy cos I did something similar but not in Nigeria though, got my 737 type rating, then worked for free for a while but getting a proper contract and the rest is history...
Okay, I had the misconception that if I have a type rating the company might look at it as a difficulty, cus they can't f@&$ around with me because I paid for my training (type rating) and I'll want to grab considerable cash and they'll prefer to sponsor someone so in return they turn him to their puppet or something.
Thanks for clarifying things for me...
I'm supposed to go on my 1st solo this week but the wind is too strong.

I would recommend the instructor route. Have you considered building hours in the SIM?
Not really. Do airlines accept hours built in SIM?

Ur most welcome.
But give careful consideration for the equipment you want to be type rated on. It's very important especially with respect to career mobility.
Okay. The hour building is the difficult thing now, I was thinking of going for instructor rating and instruct to get hours not really minding if they pay or not. Second was to go bush flying.
What do you think?

My question is simple... Why is it that planes with their engines at the tail wind areas are faster in take off and cruising speed but planes whose engine are attached to their wings are slower in take off.

I've been very unfortunate each time I want to fly it is the latter always on ground. There was a time Arik has 2 aircraft on ground boarding to port Harcourt from MMA Lagos simultaneously. I almost made a switch to join the one going to Port Harcourt International Airport Omagwa because it has the former engine type for it passengers while I was to land at the NAF base in Port Harcourt. Guess what, the hostess quickly discover my prank in time and bounce me to my original paid carrier.

I miss the experience
There are factors which affect the take off distance
1.temperature
2.weight
3.Altitude
4.up-slope surfaces retard the acceleration capabilities of the aeroplane thereby lengthening take off distance
5.head wing results in shooter take off
6.Aeroplane condition.

No dis respect to Islam, but the whole ideology seems to be dangerously centered around women, especially virgins.

They don't only have a seeming craze for getting married to under aged girls, but they equally believe when you die fighting for "Allah, " you will be rewarded with 72 virgins
No true Muslim believe that, a normal person will investigate what ever he heard especially from a dangerous individual. Your case I don't know
