Boeing777pilot: Hahahaha, congratulations brother. Thank God you made it. Thanks brother. It felt like hypoxia but I was just on 2000ft it couldn't be. My hands were cold and I felt so sick. The only times I felt okay was when I get to balance the plane. The instructor would roll and ask me to balance out. Looking at the horizon he wouldn't let me look at the instrument to see if I'm pitching up or down |

Dayhor: Evening guys!
Has the SA embassy specified a calculated minimum amount that financial statements should prove for maintenance, like the UK embassy does?
How much is the recommended minumum for a study permit, after having paid the full tuition fees and purchased medical insurance?
@staggerlee @samuelUMOH @iWise @naruto02 It wasn't stated |

Is there any reservation for/against any particular medical cover scheme at the SAembassy in Lagos for a study permit application? In other words, which medical cover should I purchase Compcare, Discovery, ABSA, or Momentum?
Am I supposed to lodge a study permit application at the embassy or the VFS centre in Lagos?
Thanks, in anticipation! Study permit is done at the embassy I sent the fee for momentum health insurance to school. They did the rest |

Solatium: stanbic is a local south African bank,your stanbic bank card should work perfectly well there,but make sure you go to your branch and tell them how long you intend to stay,so you will have seamless usage of the card Yeah I went to d bank. I told them and they said I can use d card blah blah blah then I left. I visited GTB they (customer care) asked me to use dia telephone and dial a number so I called and asked. Dey said that I can use it on POS and i-purchase but can't withdraw. Remaining diamond ill call dia no and ask |

@boeing777pilot hello its me again. I think by next month I'll be starting my training. In the school they use sling 2 and piper twin comanche for multi engine. I don't want to spend much time in ppl course so I don't know if u have ppl study material in soft copy u can send to me to continue reading before I go there. I got 1 and its faa curriculum. I just got to read about pre flight inspection. And I noticed if u r going to read a study material u should read d 1 approved by d flight school in ur country(south africa). |

Millex: If you really have the passion to do med, by all means, finish flying school be a pilot, go to medschool (abroad maybe) and be a flying doctor, maybe you would be the one to do some good in the world, like an air ambulance of some sorts, medicair kinda thing or doctors with wings kinda thing. It's all about what you want and how far you are willing to go. I understand u.thanks |

Millex: Bro but in Nigeria do we still do anything according to purpose? A few of my coursemates back in Uni currently work in banks etc and these guys were really good in Mcb with the dreams doing great things. I feel the dream is gradually dying, minus even med now, this country is bad for dreams... its where dreams come to die. It's really sad, well I won't be deterred, still chasing my purpose and dreams with hopes that it does turn to dust along the way. What do I know tho I am still at the starting phase. I started following this thread since 2013 after my grad. I thought nigeria will be a theatre of dreams as I hoped. But after writing jamb 4 times and couldn't get medicine my hope stated fading. Although right now I've been sponsored to a flying school abroad. I like aviation but its passion is not as strong as d 1 I have or should I say "had" for medicine. I'm still thinking, I'm leaving d country soon and I wrote jamb 2016 applied for mbbs. What if this year is my chance. I just hope been a pilot will be d best for me. |
