Congrats bro...more of this on tgis platfotm. Plus how you cane about your monika sounds cool lol learner007: MY STORY IN FULL!!!
On the back of 5 visa denials (admitted into UBC, Canada and visa denied 3times due to insufficient funds, travel history etc plus Cleveland State University - admitted, no GRE, no funding, denied twice last year) I went to the embassy yesterday. Got there about 5:50am for a 7am appointment. After all the checking in, we got on the queue to be interviewed. Windows 1&2 were not available so we sha couple. A VO was speaking Yoruba to aged applicants, it was really funny . Lots of Babcock students were on the queue, all of dem just collecting white paper like kilode Every interviewee had 2 others lined up behind them. The CGI lady sha put me in between 2 queues wen i got to d front. As I tried going to the lady in window 4 in an attempt to avoid a man from interviewing me based on my previous experiences, the lady dragged me back to the guy in window 6. Na so I look up say God Na mercy I need. After he denied the person right in front of me, he beckoned on me. I was like Jesú Klisti ooooooo. Did you mean me or my ancestors Then the long interview started:
VO: Good mrng how are u? Emi: i'm fine thank you sir and you VO: Good, pass me your I-20 and passport Emi: I did VO: *typed For long and finally asked* what school are u attending in the USA Emi: University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign IL VO:What programme Emi: Masters in teaching of mathematics VO: what's your highest level of qualification and what year Emi: BSC Ed maths...2011 VO: So what have you been doing after NYSC Emi: Working as a maths teacher and tutor VO: Did you apply to any other school? Emi: Yes VO: What are their names Emi: UT ARLINGTON, YESHIVA, BGSU VO:HOw many admitted you Emi: All 4 VO: Why UIUC? Emi: UIUC was an easy decision for me because they are very good at maths, the maths programme at UIUC is ranked among the top 20 BEST maths programmes in the USA and also I got a full ride VO: Did u take any tests Emi; Yes I did GRE AND TOEFL VO: What are your scores and let me see ur score sheets Emi: I responded and did as he requested VO: What are the things expected of you as a TA Emi: grading papers, leading small group discussions and stuff VO: Do you have any back up funding plan Emi: Yes, I have been saving up some cash for my dream since a long time and my mum is a strong backup? VO: What does she do Emi: She is into sales and supplies of building materials VO; Are you married? Emi: No VO: Any kids? Emi: Not at all Have you traveled outside Nigeria before Emi: No, I haven't had a reason to travel until now VO: I will be approving your visa...two things, first pick up at the circled location and secondly, don't travel without your I-20 or else you are gonna find ursef in the next flight to Nigeria Emi: I smiled, thanked him and left...I heard everything he said
I thought my interview was gonna be short, but no be so. The guy really drilled me, but I was not tensed at all. He had a super friendly ambience around him. I'm sure he picked few questions from previous denials..eg GRE. If you were on this thread last year, you probably read my denial transcripts under my old moniker 'sshola'. After those denials, I sat back and decided to write GRE and TOEFL and then gun for better schools UIUC and UTA. It really paid off big time. I also decided to be a learner, but a smart one like James Bond (007). Hence my name...learner007. I asked very dumb questions on this platform because I planned to ask my way to a visa approval and people really hit at me but I was trying to be cautious this time around, if u no go, u no know. I want to appreciate a lot of people here. For all visa hopefuls, may you find grace in time of need. My dream has finally come through!!!
Paulbets, walspring, Lagosismyhome, Femi321, Bigfrancis, Scholastica etc
My advice: 1. Dont always follow the path of least resistance, when you do the easy things, life becomes hard but when you do the hard things, things become easy
2.WHATEVER U ARE ASPIRING FOR, PURSUE DILIGENTLY AND DON'T GIVE UP....rest if you must, but DONT GIVE UP!!! |

Olalekank: I didn't want to say anything but it seems like you're "Mr know all" and it makes me want to believe that you really haven't been there as you claim.
This is the definition of transcript: An inventory of the courses taken and the grades earned of a student alleged throughout a course.
How does this correlate with WAEC/NECO. Even we here in Nigeria know that transcripts is a list of courses you've done throughout your secondary/university education.
Just take it easy and learn regardless of who's speaking. If you still have doubts about what I told you, Google scholarships for undergraduate students in the US, tell me the requirements and explain what the high school GPA is to me, then tell me how it is calculated by the school.

Castrate you ..... Man i ain't got no time for such, just felt the need to expantiate on the necessary. We learn everyday even through forms of serenpidity. It's left for you to increase your sagacy with the info's dropped here. Probably if you read back some couple of pages or thread you'd understand better. aadeyi: Bros wait fess... don't castrate me if you don't know me, I know you are the boss here but small boys like us still have small info. I have been there, done that. No school is interested in your long first term to third term ss1-ss3 results, you are not the only applicant uncle. Your WAEC/NECO is your only official high school transcript. If thats how you did yours, kudos for wasting your time, you only played yourself.

Wrong info. There's a difference between an high school transcript (grades from ss1 - ss3) and WAEC/NECO result. Don't mislead if you ain't conversant with the right info. My 2 cents aadeyi: Well there is nothing like sample of High school transcript. Your WAEC/NECO result is your high school transcript. |

I applied to St.Cloud state university for the spring 2019 term, paid the app fee and i was given a Star ID (username), i created my password and started working on my profile by submitting the required documents. Then lastweek i noticed each time i tried logging into my online application, i get logged in but my profile isn't on there again (its always stating error, contact the vice chancellor). I decided to mail the school this week about it and even sent them screenshots of the process and error noticed. I got a reply asking if i was sure i applied and paid the fee, i replied by concurring to the fact that i did and even still have the mail containing that. I was told they couldn't find my profile and requested for my usernane so they can get to know what went wrong. Now what baffles me most is the fact that i still get a mail from them telling me my application isn't yet complete and i can mail the rest of my necessary documents via email to them. I don't know if anyone here ever had such an issue of such b4, they can't seem to find my profile and the nect minute i still get a mail asking me to complete my app. Could this be a glitch??

You can either write the SAT with no essay or you can write it with the essay part. If you feel you won't do well in the essay, then opt for no essay SAT brightdocare: I want to register online for SAT am seeing SAT , and SAT with ESSAY please what is the difference? and which one is best to take?

You welcome fam... Well to the best of my knowledge and with the fact I've read on here from most gurus and applicants ... There are schools that request for waec (few tho), majority of these schools would request for an official high school transcript from you since you are applying as a freshman. Since what you have is just an Ond I dont think its equivalent to the USA b.sc of a 4.0 GPS scale without an HND. So yes you can apply to schools with just your high school transcripts and get admissions but as the gurus would always advise always write a standardized test( it aids scholarship opportunities when the scores are high) so as to seem as a genuine student. If you want schools narrow down your search using the Google.com and bring back all your findings on here and I believe the gurus and many more individuals would be willing to help. I hope this answers your question banji001: @Naughthvirgin thanks a lot bro, I wa seven thinking if there is any school I could Apply for with my WAEC result, because there is not much money to go and get transcripts for my OND... |

Bro its not too old, just write the necessary exams and follow the normal procedures , book a visa appointment , read thoroughly all the visa transcripts on here , prepare well amd go for your interview , leave the rest to God bro. banji001: The mistake I made at the first place is that I didn’t think about using the passport for something like this, I was just in need of it in a haste then, that’s why, but my thought is the age might be too old for freshman, that’s what am worried about |

Wow....awesome...biko just sent you a pm pls reply me as soon as you get ds Lizzytiti: Sorry for the late reply guys. I'm not on nairaland and I'm only using my sister's account. To keep this thread alive, since it's the only current SAT thread, i will make it pretty long. OK here goes After lots of lectures and studying, the day of my exam finally came. I was even reading the day before and only had about 5hrs sleep(a terrible thing to do). I got to the venue, checked in at 8:00 and took my seat. Since the exam didn't start till 10am, I used the opportunity to sleep and relax on my seat. It was time for the first section i.e the reading section. I started with the two science passages: too easy, piece of cake as I spent 10 minutes each. I moved on to the literature passage and proceeded to answer the questions only to find myself staring blankly at the questions and asking myself: is this the question for another passage? I left it alone and answered the social studies and history passages, which were surprisingly not boring passages, although I spent about 15 minutes each answering these passages. Having just 10 minutes left, I went back to the literature passage and tried to skim it quickly and answered some if its questions. Just then, the invigilator announced: 5minutes left. wow, turned out he took 2minutes out of the 65 minutes. I quickly dotted the answers (which I would shade well later on) and finished answering the literature passage. Time up, 10 minutes break. I refreshed my mind and was ready to continue. I finished the writing section with about 3 minutes left, only for the invigilator to realize that he made an error in timing and added 6 minutes, totalling 35 minutes( standard time for that section). With 9 minutes left, I crosschecked my answers and shaded the reading section answers well. The maths section was easy. since I was good at maths, I finished the two sections with about 8 minutes left. Exam fever began to set in towards the end of my maths section, as I literarily began to feel sick. I moved on to the essay tired and exhausted(sick). I finished the exam, greeted my friends and went home. I was Ill throughout the rest of the day, having a high temperature and a terrible headache. I was fine the next day. 2 weeks later, my score was out. Maths:750, Verbal: 690, totalling 1440 out 1600. Essay:19/24. and that was my exam experience. Thanks for reading. I need to return my sister's phone. |

The next question will then be how convincing are you with your intention. We have seen people here that did it and got visa and vice versa. Am just imagining your confidence level with your myriad of questions. You will get worried more before you go for the interview and that can be a bad omen on your intention. |

Tnx alot ma'am, well I sincerely concur with you in the fact that nursing isn't an easy one and its dependent on me to convince the VO when the time comes. Basically read and skimmed through part 12 and now part 13, noticed your responses and advises alongside that of Twoods . The truth is I'd be glad to mentored through out till the final process with people like u and Twoods Twists and ur likes while I also play my major role. Bless u LagosismyHome: This question is very hard to answer ..... what works for one doesn't work for another . So it hard to predict . Some have walked in your shoes and have made it while others didnt so if you really want it you just have to try and hope for the best . Nursing is not easy to convince a Vo mainly because loads of people think it the path to an easier life but nursing entering the work force is not as easy as it use to.
Just Make sure you are fully prepared every step of the way . Be it admission or visa time |
