Pope Francis who became sick on Thursday after supporting coronavirus sufferer on Wednesday is still sick for a third day as Coronavirus outbreak continues to sweep through Italy.

The Catholic Church has launched an investigation after two nuns who took a vow of chastity returned to Rome pregnant after a missionary trip to Africa.

One of them, a mother superior, found she was several weeks pregnant while the other woman discovered the news when she complained of stomach pain.

Both nuns are now facing an uncertain future in their profession and the scandal has caused 'consternation' among the clergy.
“It appears that both women were back in their home nations and obviously had some form of sexual encounter”, a Church source in Rome said.

An Uber driver was sentenced to death on Friday by a criminal court in Lebanon in connection with the rape and murder of a British embassy worker.

According to the report, Uber driver Tarek Houshi raped Rebecca Dykes and strangled her to death with a rope before dumping her body at a roadside. The driver was arrested two days later after being tracked down on security camera footage and confessed to his crimes.

An Indonesian man who helped set strict religious laws ordering adulterers to be flogged has himself been whipped after he was caught having an affair with a married woman.

Mukhlis, who is a member of the Aceh Ulema Council was thoroughly flogged 28 times with a rattan cane in the provincial capital of Banda Aceh on Thursday.

Mukhlis grimaced and flinched during the whipping, before his married companion was brought to the stage and flogged some 23 times.

An Indian school has apologized after photos emerged of students wearing cardboard boxes on their heads during an exam to prevent cheating. The students were reportedly photographed by a staff member of the school, who in turn posted the photos on Facebook and they went viral.

The front of the boxes was designed in a way to allow students only see their desks and exam sheets but restricting their vision – similar to blinkers used on a horse.

Shortly after the photos were posted on Facebook, the school suffered widespread criticism on social media and from government officials.

Four people were killed on Sunday when Police fired on a crowd after clashes erupted over a Facebook post.

“We had to fire, we had no options,” said AKM Ehsanullah, a senior police officer.

The offending Facebook post was reportedly published Friday from the account of a 25-year-old man. As the post started to draw more attention online, senior police and district officials met with religious leaders of the region Saturday to try and calm the situation and reassure them that action was being taken.

But an angry crowd gathered in a field near the police station on Sunday demanding justice.

“There was some construction work going on nearby, so there were a lot of bricks. They were throwing the bricks at us. We locked ourselves in a room (in a nearby compound),” Ehsanullah said.

Uganda’s government announced plans Thursday to reintroduce a bill which would impose death penalty on homosexuals in the East African country.

“Homosexuality is not natural to Ugandans, but there has been a massive recruitment by gay people in schools, and especially among the youth, where they are promoting the falsehood that people are born like that,” Ethics and Integrity Minister Simon Lokodo told Reuters. “Our current penal law is limited. It only criminalizes the act. We want it made clear that anyone who is even involved in promotion and recruitment has to be criminalized. Those that do grave acts will be given the death sentence.”

What they are saying is that according to 'a controversial law', when someone sees you and takes a photo of you using his camera or phone, that photo belongs to the photographer, not you. So you do not have any right to share the photo even though it shows your face. .

My question: But, why should somebody even take a photo of me......even when I don't want dem to snaaaap me

American actress, Jennifer Lopez, also known by her nickname J.Lo, has been hit with a $150,000 lawsuit by the Splash News and Picture Agency for copyright infringement over a photo of herself and fiancé Alex Rodriguez found on Instagram. She allegedly posted the photo on her official Instagram page two years ago.

The lawsuit filed in US District Court for the Central District of California on Saturday, claims that J.Lo did not have permission to post the agency’s image, which showed her holding hands with her fiancé, A-Rod, in 2017 during breakfast in New York City.

The photographer alleges that J.Lo’s own photo belongs to their company.

“Nevertheless, Lopez used it without authorization or permission from [Splash] to do so,” the lawsuit states.

A self-proclaimed fortune teller in Florida has been sentenced to three and a half years in prison and ordered to repay $1.6 million (N576,000,000) after concocting a “fortune telling” fraud scheme in which she convinced a Houston woman that her family was cursed.

The scammer, Sherry Tina Uwanawich, 28, told her victim she was “a psychic/fortune teller.”

“The defendant claimed she needed large sums of money to purchase items, such as crystals, candles and the like, which were needed for meditation work in order to lift the curse. Failure to do so, the victim was led to believe, would result in harm to her and family.”

The scammer enriched “herself by obtaining money, jewelry, and other valuables based on false pretenses” as she “representing herself to have God-given powers that enabled her to help people afflicted with curses,” according a grand jury indictment.

The victim was talked into making direct deposits into Uwanawich’s bank accounts and the con artist also received money in Western Union wire transfers, the indictment said.

A California megachurch pastor has committed suicide, Church officials announced.

Jarrid Wilson, who once spoke openly about his battle with depression, was a pastor with the Harvest Christian Fellowship Church in Riverside California.

“Jarrid also repeatedly dealt with depression and was very open about his ongoing struggles,” senior pastor Greg Laurie wrote on the church’s blog.

“He wanted to especially help those who were dealing with suicidal thoughts. Tragically, Jarrid took his own life”, Laurie wrote.
