Please why do you think that Starlinks won't increase their own price to match the dollar beating the Naira silly?
Do you know if Elon Musk is doing charity and sharing internet like T-Pain is sharing bread palliative to calm down his ebiNpawa worshippers huh
Starkink has already increased their price. It's that of MTN and the likes we're waiting for.

Ebubu6:
Starlink is literally 80k a month.
Last I heard it's been increased from 35k to 75k.

The bundle I'm using on MTN is far cheaper that's why I'm still managing them. Once the difference between the two is like 10-15k, I'll just switch to starlink.

Not so in my place.

Nothing can be done to claim the child a woman had for you outside marriage unless her family do not want the child.

Doesn't matter if she's dead or alive, the child belongs to her father forever.
It's certainly not Igbo land. Maybe delta.
PhonesRe: Telcos Submit Requests, Push For 100% Tariff Increase, Await NCC Approval by Nazgul: 8:43am On Jan 03, 2025
If they try it I'll just switch to starlink. Cos mtn and airtel are just crappy network which I'm managing because it's cheap and affordable. Early this month I recharged my airtel router, and the network has been going on and off. I can't even use it to work. That of mtn isn't even better. You keep wasting your money without getting any value for your money spent.

Anything that makes the price of their internet bundle start rubbing shoulderes with that of starlink, I'm ditching them for good.

Those two situations are not the same. The marrying the mother part is not same as forcing you to pay for your own stubbornness of not doing the right thing which you refused to do.
I've read about cultures in Africa where the groom would be asked to sleep with some of the bride's aunt's and they would confirm if he's potent enough for her.

Some you'll be flogged with horse whip and you must not cry. It's just to prove that you're a man.

Some, you and the other suitors would fight each other, the winner marries the girl.

There are countless traditions in Africa. Just accept the one that looks normal to you.

You are misinterpreting Igbo traditions here. It is true that the man will pay the late wife's bride price before burying her. But there's nothing like the man being asked to marry the wife's mother.
I never said marrying your wife's mom was Igbo tradition.

I only made reference to it so that the op would understand the different cultures and traditions that that exists across Nigeria. And it shouldn't stop you from marrying whoever you want to marry.

During the days of Nollywood. When Nollywood was still Nollywood, I saw literally all the major Nollywood actors and actresses. Cos they used to come to Ojez club at Surulere back then.

From Ramsey Naoh to Genevieve to the late Larry koldsweat, to Onyeka, DJ Jimmy jat, Tuface, kennis music owners...so many of them.

This was around 2012-2013 or thereabout. I was quite young then. They just looked like normal people to me back then. I wasn't even freaking out.

I once ran into flavor at Akanu Ibiam airport Enugu in 2021. I didn't even look at him twice sef. You see that thing called self respect, it exists 100% in my life.

So my dear op, you're completely normal. Don't mind them.

@op

Go ahead with the rites, there's nothing there.
As long as you and your girl love each other, just carry on.

Explain the bolded part.

What do you mean by you marrying the girls mother?
In Igbo land if you impregnate a girl and she dies without you paying her bride price, you must marry her before claiming your children. If you don't pay her bride price, you can't claim your children.

Since the girls mom wasn't officially married her has to marry her before being able to marry the daughter. It doesn't mean he'll begin to have sex with her. It's just tradition.

15million wetin?

Is this some kind of a joke?

I guess it's been long to price building materials.

Excluding the land, the 15m will not take your standard 3bed room past 70%.
You even tried to give it 70%. Foundation to lintel level and roofing would swallow that money.

And you've not even started the interior which is even more expensive.

There may be other reasons why some guys do not want to marry baby mamas, but in this current age, one of the fears that some guys may have is baba mamas going back to sleep with their baby daddies.
That's just one of the numerous reasons.
