@chichi... Must he attend the same church with you?... What is it that girls see in this same church of a thing that I haven't seen sef?, or is it like the proverbial saying that what an elder sees while sitting down a youth couldn't see even if he climbs a tall tree?... Isn't it the same GOD we are serving?, don't we all believe in the same JESUS CHRIST?. Or are u a Jehovah's Witness?... I have said it before and I will keep saying it... I detest fanatism... I'll rather remain single than to marry a fanatic..

chichi254: tnx bright. I agree wit u dt love is meant 2 be nurtured 4 it 2 grow but what if there is no seed/plant of love at all, wat then is 2 be nurtured?
I am very sorry if I'll offend you with this my question but I couldn't help not asking you... Are u in any "arranged" relationship?.. (your dad/mum gave you to someone to marry without your consent).. How can u be in any kind of relationship without a "positive" feeling for him?..

chichi254: Hi preties. I woke up 2day feelin so depressed n lonely. Wishin 2 have dat special som1 beside me. I keep wonderin y life seems so mysterious n partial 2 me. This has been my feelin lately. I keep wonderin y its only peopl i dislike that show serious interest. Sometimes, i consider settlin 4 one of them hopin that likeness/love may develop wit time. but i'm very scared. Wat if it doesn't? So lonely (sobbing)
I don't believe in love at 1st sight.... Love should be a gradual process and and u shouldn't wait for any "spark" or "shock" or "blast" or whatever it is that u do read on mills & boons... Love is like a plant, if u nuture it, it will grow and produce fruits... That's my own take on it... @maya, just because I put "spark" it doesn't mean I'm mocking you..

@the bolded part, you should learn the act of moderation by using "some" instead of generalization. I believe you re talking out of experience, you have really been unlucky with the opposite sex.I pray you meet that one person who will change your orientation.
@bolded... If u'd noticed my previous post u'd see that I do use "some"...

simayanki4real: 3) Spice your relationship every once in a while by giving your man a treat (if you have one) either in a date, romance or whatever he loves.
This will be very hard for a Nigerian girl to do... VERY VERY HARD... Most think it's only money that matters in a relationship, they always expect the guy to take them out to classy restaurants for dates, buy them the trendiest wears, pet them always, finding cash to give them even if he'e broke, etc... Ladies should know that it's also expected of them to contribute in little ways to a relationship... It shouldn't be made to be one sided..

simayanki4real: 4) Be prayerful in your relationship as most men want dedicated christians as wives.
Not FANATICS

simayanki4real: 6) Finally, for the influential, mature, educated, & financially stable women (i adore your kind) and while most men (like me) may feel uncomfortable walking up & actually undergoing a special woo-ing process for you; try and put up a smile, be accomodating, be friendly, be social and you JUST MIGHT find a guy who gets you (irrespective of his age).

Hope this helps!
I pray they apply it... There is this saying that if Muhammed does not go to the mountain, the mountain will ......... You know the rest..

Romance › Re: A Thread for Single Ladies :) by nbright: 7:16pm On Mar 05, 2013
This quoted post was written by a lady on a different thread... It kinda get to me... U got to give it to her... She writes well..

milychocs: I remember my secondary school days and how I used to see those single, female teachers we called 'aunties"
They mostly were slim, "wicked", and wore too much make up
I would look at them, and wish that they were not unhappy

I would see them chatting and laughing with the male teachers, not so much with the married female teachers, etc
These ladies must have all been between 30 and 40....I always thought they needed men to complete them

Fast forward to this day, I am them, lol...I am a single, working lady in this age bracket, well behaved (most times sha), nice, hard working, and content....usually happy and chatty with guys, and not so much with married female folks (apart from my friends)...had my heart broken once, thoroughly, broke 2 hearts definitely, and 1 possibly, still rolls eyes at the thought of menopause,(maybe cos I have a niece I adore and think of as mine?) and still know I cannot settle for less just so I can belong..(maybe the fact that I earn money, and am older and wiser has also made me maybe too independent/strong

Point is, I wonder what teenage girls like me then see when they look at me? A real, happy, good at her job/life lady? Or
a spinster with too much attempts at trying to be young, pitiable and old, who should get married already or move in to a nursing home!

I wonder sha... cheesy
@bolded, now that's a sincere and bold girl, but here, no girl want to admit that they have broken a guys heart before... (maybe they slept through that part)... All we hear is guys do this and that...

@SimplYeahmee.... I learnt something in class today... "cultural shock".. This is the (experience) shock/disgust u get for that first time when u come in contact with another persons culture/beliefs... Be disgusted @ me all u want, but that's my way.. I stand by it... U no holy pass...

DailyNews: Its very much easier for a lady to befriend a guy than for a guy to befriend a lady, so use that as an advantage.
@bolded... They don't seem to know that one... Like me, I will never (& I have never) stopped a girl/lady on the road to toaste her.. Some girl/ladies are so full of themselves that if a guy just say "Hi" to them, they will wash him down in the full glare of the public... Most guys don't like embarrasments (I inclusive)..

missblanche: Not just for you doll...most guys have this crazy orientation about a lady and its so annoying..if a lady is rich, she can't get a man,if she has more than a masters degree..its f..king hard..she's independent and the guys want to take advantage...most of these ladies just want to be loved, that's all they crave for..but our men don't see that..i wonder what it is they see..
a master degree holder approached by a degree holder what do u think her reaction will be?... She might even shout down on the guy.. Some girls even say "see this monkey o, I no be ur level go find ur mate"... Some might even call him badluck...

We all have different destinies (so they say), maybe urs is to toaste the guy... Just give it a try... Don't go all out, just drop subtle hints now and then... I watched 24 yesterday (season 2).. Michelle kinda asked Tony out but in a cool manner... BUT WHY CAN'T NAIJA GIRLS ASK GUYS OUT SEF ...

Maya2pretty: it's ur fundamental human right to believe whatever u want to believe, it's funny how guys feel they understand women better than d women themselves, do u think single female billionaires r happy bein single, y do we have d cases of sugar mummy and sugar son so rampant in our society? no offense but I cant even start to argue, am not in d mood now sad
and ladies also feel they understand guys more than the guys themselves too.... They always think any guy that talk to them wants sex... U assume wrongly about us and u expect us not to return that favour?...
Romance › Re: A Thread for Single Ladies :) by nbright: 10:32pm On Mar 04, 2013
Maya2pretty: D 1st reason that makes we women desire a relationship is companionship, no matter d money we acquire, d heights we attain, d children we have, we still need that man that'l look at us wit deep admiration, that we'l run 2 when we r sad, angry and even excited, what of d lonely cold nights (like dis one) being single is depressin sometimes, it hurts when there's no one u have an intimate attachment to, emotionally, physically, psychologically, mentally and what have u. It hurts, alot, sometimes sad
I find that HARD to believe @bolded
Romance › Re: A Thread for Single Ladies :) by nbright: 10:17pm On Mar 04, 2013
eimuhb: Because It won't be easy working, schooling, doing chores and taking care of the children. It's either you get a maid (not forgetting the fear of being impregnated by your husband if the maid na girl) or you plead on your husband to help you out with chores (and if the demand should increase, he will tell you you're leaving your responsibility and start keeping late night) or lastly you not working (then your husband might nag about you not contributing to the welfare of the house and threatens you to stop your schooling).
Sefini.....
My mum took care of the kids for her while she was schooling, though she do visits on weekends, if he threatened to stop ur schooling, ur dad is there to help out, ur dad can then talk to him as an in-law.. I addresses this late night issue last cos some women are funny... My sis major complain is that once the husband closes from work, he comes straight home, the husband doesn2 drink neither does he smokes...

DailyNews: pls n pls, if u know u dnt want a girl for good, that u just want to satisfy ur randy mood or u just want sex, pls dnt deceive d girl,
My mum warned me that I should never use the promise of marriage just to sleep with a girl...

DailyNews: Come on guys grow up, sex is nothing if u groom urself well to understand that sex is in fact, nonesense that tarnishes conscience, religion aside, how do u feel after sex? Most guys confess that they feel guilty, empty, angry, rejected, and so many other negative feelings, so y indulge it so randomly with no justifiable reasonhuh
@bolded, they cheated on their spouse...
Romance › Re: A Thread for Single Ladies :) by nbright: 9:29pm On Mar 04, 2013
To those ladies that keep saying that they want to futher their education, want to be financially independent, etc etc... What is wrong if u continue ur schooling from ur husband's house?... My elder sis did the same thing, she has 4 kids (2 boys & 2 girls).. And she's not even up to 35yrs old... When she had a misunderstanding with her husband and she came to our family house, the husband drove down that night to our house to plead... She started with him when he was in a single room, she wash the toilet when it's their turn (it's a compound house)... This is very important to the ladies, yes it's good to be humble, but still use this Bible passage that I love to quote Be ye wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove ... It shall be well with us...
