obinnanelson04: **Welcome to Kaduna** 1. Cost of leaving is relatively cheap 2. Social activities much better and safer in the southern part. 3. Food cost also fair. 4. There is bolt but using tricycle will be much better. 5. Market is ok you can get all you need easily too. 6. Please don't live in the northern part. You can do whatever business you have there during the day but make sure you leave anything from 5pm to the south where there are lots of Christians and other mixed tribes. 7. Accomodation is better and safe in sabo, anguwan Sunday, some areas in barnawa, some areas in kakuri, Gonin Gora, Romi. Note: feel free to ask whatever is not clear to you. I stay in Kakuri. Not sure where is north and south, but I will be working close to the new shop rite, the heart of the city |

Hello everyone, I am a Resident in one of the eastern states and recently got a job in kaduna. It’s a contract work, so I am only staying for a few months. Having been residing in the east all my life, I would like to find out from Kaduna residents about the environment. It is my first time visiting the north hence, I am a bit unsettled about the insecurity. I know the east has its bouts of disorder in some parts too, hence I understand that this is a nationwide problem. However, I would like to know what is at stake there, including:
1. Cost of living 2. Social activities 3. Food costs 4. In-state transport (is there Uber or Bolt) 5. Market 6.what am I missing? Kindly help please!!! |

Mrmoney90: Honestly, these ECOs think left sometimes.. they do their job without emotion. Now, an emotional person will see all you’ve written and consider your application, but you see those ECOs, they want you to “COMPEL” them. In order words, force them with a strong conviction to give you the visa.
Let me give you a practical example of what the ECO would assume if you were to hand in your application. The ECO would say, since your family is your means of survival here, and you are going to visit your sister who is also family, there is a high chance of illegal immigration as you sister can hide you and fend for you. Do you get? If she was your wife, it would have been a different case.
If you had a property you rent, that would’ve helped. Also, if you were the only child of your parents left in Nigeria, we could say that you are the only one that takes care of your sick parent since your sister lives in the uk and she can’t come back home regularly to attend to your mum’s needs because of distance. So since your mum is very sick and can’t travel, that you are going to represent her in order to help your sister for two weeks, as the only relative she has left. That all necessary arrangements have been made for your sick mum whilst you will be gone for two weeks since your dad is late and no family to attend to her. You can show proof of payment to the carer etc for that period of two weeks. If possible, you can make a short video of your mum in a sick state, granting you her permission to go on the trip, and demanding you come back as soon as possible.
This is just my opinion, because this your situation is tough honestly I understand you. Can I state that I’m supervising a family building undergoing construction in my state? My mother would have made the trip, but she is currently taking care of my dad who is ill. What do you think please? |

giselle237: everything you have written is a no no… Look for another way to phrase the support you are coming to offer.. also pls duration should be about 1 month.. you are a student, how do you want to tell the visa officer you are leaving your studies for 3 to 4 months to go to the UK to offer help to your pregnant sister?? Is your studying not important? lastly your sister’s status has no business on this application. The onus is on you to have a credible profile of one who has much to lose if they dnt return to their home country. The picture you are painting is of someone who has little or nothing tying/tieing them to Nigeria. This is a great way to pack a refusal. Hello, thanks. I’m not exactly a student but an intern in a university environment. I just started, having graduated just last December. I also work as a volunteer historian for a cultural institute in my state. Is this good enough reason? |

Ashirioluwa: I was thinking the 5K was for vacation. The money is not too much. You might need more than that for a stay of 3 to 4 months.
As per the Standard Visitor Visa for medical treatment in the UK, you will need to prove:
That you have a medical condition that needs private consultation or treatment in the UK.
That you have made arrangements for consultations or treatment.
You need to show you have enough money to cover the cost of this treatment. If you talk to a consultant in the UK, you will be able to determine how much money is going to be enough.
You will leave the UK once your treatment is completed, or before your visa expires. No, not a medical treatment, but my sister is expecting a baby in the next two months and needs assistance as she already has two other kids. So she is getting a letter of consent from her hospital stating thus. Kindly advise please |

Mrmoney90: Ok, if I may ask, how do you survive in Nigeria then, since you have stated that you partake in an unpaid internship?
Your sister’s circumstance isn’t an issue. Another problem is you saying you will be staying for 3-4 months, that’s a huge red flag to to the ECO.
You must have something that is supposed to compel you to come back to Nigeria. Like Giselle said, this your case will be hard o. Had it been that you have a good job here, even if you plan to japa when you get there, it won’t be suspected Okay for emphasis, I just finished my studies around December, but I currently started an unpaid internship within the school too. As per how I survive, I am placed on a monthly stipend of 25k from an uncle. And I occasionally get lots of cash gifts from my siblings and relatives. In addition to being an intern, I work as volunteer historian in a cultural institute and I have been with them for over three years. How about these? |

Ashirioluwa: The amount to write there, according to some of the Nairaland visa counselors, is £1.
The way I understand this question is different from the way other gurus tackle it. Anyway, I am not an expert when it comes to visa applications.
I normally write the cost of the trip, then explain in the cover letter who is (are) paying for the trip and why they are doing so, then back it up finally with a "Letter of Support" from the sponsor. Please what exactly is this cover letter. I’m sorry but this is my first time applying. Thank you 🙏 |

Mrmoney90: 5k pounds is too much o… that might even be a strong ground for your refusal. Just say 1500 Ok so, we have a letter from her hospital stating that she is expecting a child and thus needs help. I’m currently interning, without pay. Also getting a letter from my organization. Are these good enough? Do you have other suggestions? I intend staying for about 3 to 4 months. Is the 5k pounds a lot for this duration please? |

Ashirioluwa: Boy, you have a lot to do to convince them that you're a genuine traveler because someone else sponsoring an adult traveler is somehow questionable. So many red flags.
A relative is sponsoring your vacation trip with £5000. That figure is also on the high side.
Anyway, nothing is impossible. Ok so, we have a letter from her hospital stating that she is expecting a child and thus needs help. I’m currently interning, without pay. Ashirioluwa: You can't enter zero. You will still need to enter the total cost of the vacation, even if someone will be paying for the vacation. Note it in your application and cover letter that someone is paying for your vacation. Ok. If for example my sponsor is paying 5k pounds towards my trip, do I just put in that same 5k? And please can I possibly send you a direct message please? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by NdiEgede: 12:10pm On Feb 01, 2023 |
Mrmoney90: If you can’t enter zero, use the total cost of trip even if the sponsor is paying.
As for evidence, you can include photos you both have taken together, as well as your birth certificates to show you’re both from same parents. Thank you very much. What about the call log? is that so important please? And can I possibly send you a direct message please? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by NdiEgede: 9:15pm On Jan 30, 2023 |
Thank you so much sir. I have tried without success to get the figures to zero. Not sure why this isn’t going through. l also have questions about Evidence of relationship with my sister. What can I use for this please. Mrmoney90: For the part that requires how much you will be contributing towards the trip, you can put 0.00.
You should include your bank statement regardless of being fully sponsored. Your sponsor should provide all relevant documentation. Also on your end, ensure your account doesn’t have any discrepancies. As for how much you spend monthly, check your account monthly and see how much you spend. As a student, I don’t think you should spend more than 40k per month.
Lastly, you should attach proof you’re still studying and also a letter of permission from your school for you to travel. |

Greetings all, I am filling out applications for a Standard Visitor’s Visa. I am a student and have no source of income yet apart from little savings. My intention of visiting is to go help my elder sister who is expectant, hence she is sponsoring all my expenses including, flights, accommodation and living costs.
While filling this, i was asked to provide the personal funds i will be contributing to my trip, but i have also stated that this trip is being sponsored by my sister who is living in the UK and who i am visiting. I have been asked to provide supporting documents which includes my own personal bank statement.
I want to know how to go about it as all the funds for my trip is directly coming from sister. Thanks |
