Gained Admission in October 2016, Five years course plus Covid-19 and several ASUU strikes, finally ended yesterday 14th of December, 2022.

When I was yet to gain admission I was thinking that University is easy not until I entered and found out that it was not easy. The stress, early morning lectures, attendance, and the rest of them all were never an easy journey.

I never lost hope of going to the University and graduating after writing JAMB for so many years.

May God Be Praised. My Nairaland Family thank you all, I have learned a lot here on Nairaland which has helped me in my academics, and I appreciate you all.

Thanks.

Politics / APC Convention: Group Petitions Police, DSS, Others Over Dapo Abiodun (pics) by Ndlistic(m): 5:37pm On Mar 04, 2022
APC Convention: Group petitions Police, DSS, others over Dapo Abiodun, calls for immediate action

A Civil Society Organization, Advocacy for Advancement of Peace & Harmony in Africa Initiative(ADAPHAI) has written a petition to the heads of security agencies in Nigeria as well as to the Chairman of APC Caretaker & Extra Ordinary Convention Committee (CECPC), Mai Malam Buni, over the nomination of the Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun as the Chairman of Election Appeal Committee for the national convention slated for March 26.

The group alleged that the Governor has a multiple felon cases in the US, bothering on fraud and dishonesty, which he deliberately concealed through redaction.

In a petition dated 4th March, 2022, and signed by the National Coordinator of the Organization, Comrade Sulaimon Suberu, the group attached various documents indicating indictment of the Ogun State Governor in the US.

ADAPHAI, therefore, called for prompt investigation to ascertain the veracity of its claim and quick action to address the alleged infraction, as it called on the leadership of the APC to quickly remove Abiodun as the Chairman of Election Appeal Committee during the coming convention.

''As a leading Non-governmental Organization in Nigeria, we consider it pertinent and expedient to inform you of our recent findings and discovery in the Nigeria's political space, as a way of averting political debacle that could heat up the polity and threaten peaceful co-existence in Nigeria.

''It may interest you to know that we are presently in possession of documented evidence that clearly shows that Governor Dapo Abiodun was indicted in multiple felon cases in the United States of America bothering on Fraud and dishonesty. Irrefutable documented evidence shows a pattern of repeat criminal offenses - 12th July 1986, 6th November 1986 and 15th January 1987, in that order.

''In a bid to manipulate extant provisions of Nigerian Constitution on the eligibility of ex-convicts or persons indicted for dishonesty and fraud to contest for public office (Section 182, subsection (d),(i) and (j), Governor Dapo Abiodun, deliberately CONCEALED his criminal past by Redacting his criminal records on 18th August, 2015, at exactly 3.18pm (Copy of Redacted page attached).

''Below is the details of the Redaction Data:
CFN: 20150534571
BOOK: 29743
PAGE: 1170
DATE: 18 Aug 2015
TIME: 04:20:51pm
Harvey Ruvin Clerk of Court. MIA- Dale City.

''We therefore demand a prompt and further investigation on the above allegations to ascertain the veracity of our claim for immediate action.

''Also, we implore the leadership of the APC to quickly remove Gov. Dapo Abiodun as the Chairman of APC's Election Petition Committee during its Convention slated for March 26 with immediate effect, to give credibility to the exercise,as such nomination portends serious threat to the party and the country at large'', the petition reads.

Crime / Identities Of Police Officers Who Extorted ₦22M Worth Of Bitcoin From Lagos Men by Ndlistic(m): 3:13pm On Dec 19, 2021
REAVEALED: Identities Of Rogue Police Officers Who Extorted N22million Worth Of Bitcoin From Young Men At Gunpoint In Lagos

A Deputy Superintendent of Police with force number 14534, Cordelia Nwawe, and Inspector Austin, both attached to Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Alagbon Close, Lagos State, have been identified as officers who extorted N22million worth of bitcoin from two young Nigerians, Morakinyo Tobiloba Peter and Yusuf Samson Dayo.

SaharaReporters had reported that Peter and Dayo, both realtors, were stopped on July 14, 2021 while driving along the Ikoyi/Ajah Expressway by a team of police officers in mufti led by Austin, who adopted a fictitious name “Osas”.

Inspector Austin and Cordelia Nwawe.
The duo said they were treated like criminals while Nwawe, a former Public Relations Officer of the Sokoto and Akwa-Ibom states police commands respectively asked the officers to kill them if they cannot pay N20million as bail.

“We were driving on the Ikoyi/Ajah Expressway precisely at 1004 on the 14th of July 2021, when a team of police officers in mufty accosted us and ordered us to park. We parked and the police officers jumped into the car and ordered us to open our phones,” one of the victims had told SaharaReporters.

“Since we have nothing to hide, we gave them our phones and they found nothing incriminating. To our surprise, they ordered us to drive down to their office, we insisted we must know our offences before we can move down to the station. But the police officers descended on us and beat us for disobedience. They claimed we were too fresh not to be a fraudster. We begged them and showed them that we are realtors. We gave them our identity cards and showed them some of our ongoing projects but they insisted we were fraudsters.

“When we got to the police station at FCID Annex, Alagbon Close, Lagos, we were quickly pushed into the cell and they went away with our mobile phones. The police officers returned some hours later and told us we were trading in Bitcoins.

“Before we know it, they started beating us and calling us Yahoo boys, we told them we were not Yahoo boys. We explained that we are realtors and it was because of the decline in naira that we converted our money into bitcoin, but they kept beating us and they said we should write statement around 8:00pm in the night,” he added.

The duo added that the statements written by them were torn into pieces by the policemen while they were forced to sign another ones written by the officers alleging that they were Internet fraudsters.

“We wrote the statements and they tore it into pieces and wrote another statement for us and forced us to sign it. We did signed the statement and they took them before their boss, DSP Cordelia Nwawe with force number 145341, Admin section, FCID Annex, Alagbon Lagos,” they added.

“Mrs Uwawe asked her officers what happened and they narrated the whole story to her, they told her we are Yahoo boys which we denied and the woman said they should give us bail condition, they demanded N20million from us and when we said we don't have such amount of money, the woman said they should go and kill us if we insist we cannot pay them N20million as bail.

“Officer Austin who led the team also adopted a fictitious name so that people will not know his true name. He was addressed as Osas by DSP Uwawe, he was the one who took us to the cell and threatened to kill the two of us if we cannot transfer the N20million in bitcoin to them.

“So when he bought out his gun and was taking us out of the cell to kill us as ordered by her boss, DSP Uwanue, we now succumbed to him and said he should remove the money from our account, he insisted he wanted bitcoin and not naira, he provided another bitcoin account and he transferred N22million equivalent of bitcoin from our account.”

They urged human rights activists and the government to intervene on their behalf.

Speaking on the incident, a human rights lawyer, Adegbola Odunyemi asked the Inspector-General of Police to investigate the matter.

“I hereby call on well meaning Nigerians to prevail on the office of the Inspector-General of Police; Minister of Police Affairs; Chairman, Police Service Commission; Speaker, House of Representatives; the Senate President and His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari, to help us recover this money from these criminal elements parading themselves as police officers.

“My clients are realtors and it was because of the decline in naira that made them to convert their money into bitcoin, they are not Yahoo boys.”

Crime / Police Authorised The Burial Of Timothy Adegoke - Vanguard for The Truth by Ndlistic(m): 10:12am On Dec 02, 2021
POLICE AUTHORISED THE BURIAL OF OAU MBA STUDENT TIMOTHY ADEGOKE- VANGUARD FOR THE TRUTH FOUNDATION.

A non-governmental organisation, Vanguard for The Truth Foundation which has been conducting an independent investigation into the case of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Timothy Adegoke Oludare has again revealed some shocking new facts chiefly among which is that contrary to what was being peddled in the media that the staff of the hotel where Timothy Adegoke died took his corpse to a location within the hotel premises and buried him in a shallow grave under the supervision of the owners son Raheem Adedoyin, the deceased was actually buried by Local Government Health officials under the supervision of the officers of the Nigeria Police

Mr Adewale Aderibigbe the spokesperson of the Vanguard for the Truth Foundation said the Foundation has unearthed some new incontrovertible evidences which included statements of witnesses as well as photographs which lend credence to this.

According to him, based on discreet independent investigation we have discovered some new and incontrovertible evidences that;

1. Timothy Adegoke who has been a regular lodger of the hotel was observed not to have come out since he lodged that particular weekend. This made the hotel staff to knock and when that failed severally without any response from Timothy, they got a spare key to open the door and found his body lifeless. Out of fear the body was dumped by the road side without the top management of hotel in the know, far away from the premises of the hotel by the hotel staff on the 6th of November.

2. Some passer-by saw the corpse of Timothy Adegoke by the road side and called the attention of one Chief Ajiroba who is a prominent personality around the area. We were reliably informed that the Chief hurriedly placed a call to both the Police Area Commander and the DPO covering Ife Central local government area to alert them of what they saw.

3. On the 9th of November, 2021, three days after the body was dumped, the Police bosses at Ife Area Command called on the Ife Central Local Government Health Department and gave them clearance to bury the corpse, later identified as Timothy Adegoke found by the road side.

4. The Ife Central Local Government Health staff took their tools, fumigated the body at the spot where it was dumped contrary to the narrative that the deceased was buried in the hotel premises. The Local Government officials engaged the services of two dark skinned Hausa labourers (Danladi Ibrahim and Mohammed Danjuma) who digged the shallow grave Timothy was buried.

5. The police had knowledge of and authorised the burial of Timothy Adegoke

6. The Ife Central Local Government Health Department having gotten a clearance from the police buried Timothy Adegoke on the 9th of November, 2021 at the spot where the Police later exhumed his corpse for investigation and not the hotel staff as being rumoured.

The Vanguard for the Truth Foundation therefore appealed to the police to do a thorough investigation on this case and come clean regarding the above newly released evidences for the sake of Justice for all.

The Foundation also urged the general public to exercise patience and wait for the autopsy result from the Nigeria Police to ascertain the cause of Timothy Adegoke's death and asked the authorities to prevail on social media platforms to stop their public trial of the case.

Politics / Samuel Ogundipe's Secret Conversation With Onyema (Audio) by Ndlistic(m): 5:59pm On Nov 21, 2021

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TIcvezMZQw

Audio: Inside Ogundipe’s secret conversation with Onyema after EFCC arrested Peoples Gazette Staff

Since Newsdiaryonline broke the story of an alleged $300,000 blackmail scandal and the arrest of a staff of the peoples Gazette in a sting operation led  by EFCC, all hell has been let loose with  supporters of Mr Samuel Ogundipe  claiming that the story was false.

Several journalists who contacted Ogundipe  were told the story was not true. The impression was created that Newsdiaryonline perhaps published fake news.Fact is that EFCC is probing the Scandal.

Some of his  friends who may have been misled   by Ogundipe’s denial of the story, have been on social media castigating  Newsdiaryonline and  newspaper’s Publisher/Editor-In-Chief, Danlami Nmodu, mni.

Despite Ogundipe’s denial, when several reporters contacted him, two key events have happened afterwards:  first , The ICIR has crosschecked and confirmed that EFCC  is currently  in deed investigating Ogundipe  over alleged blackmail.

Secondly, an audio tape has emerged of  Samuel Ogundipe in  secret conversation with Allen Onyema who he calls  “Chief Onyema”.In the tape, Ogundipe was begging Onyema to intervene to ensure the release of his female staff who was  in the  custody of EFCC.

Chief Onyema was overheard saying  he has also “parted” with his money.

So the story is not false.

Read the transcript of the  Secret conversation below and listen to the audio tape as well. In the transcipt, Samuel Ogundipe is identified simply as Samuel:

Onyema: (In pidgin)  I go press not now, he go cut.I go press setting ,still

Samuel : Yes, yes, you will have to allow  WhatsApp to access your microphone. You know that whatsApp is an application on your phone so,..It needs  permission to access your microphone so that when you are talking, another person will hear you.So it needs access ..

Onyema:….I did that one it started propping up this one.Now I press setting, it cut off,I press not now,cut off.

Samuel: Can I call you from a different number on the normal line?

Onyema :{continues):Even when I  try to call you with it

Samuel: Hello sir

Onyema: Okay, yes

Samuel: All right sir Thank you sir

Pause

Onyema: I will have to do it so that it can work. Please don’t call on that line. That is the line that causes problems

Samuel: No no  no.I want to use another MTN line to call the other line, to call that other phone.Yes

Onyema. There is no this thing on it

Samuel: No SIM Card

Onyema: No SIM Card

Samuel: Oh

Onyema: You see eh, Iam on the road now.Iam on the road now going  to the office.

Samuel: Okay sir

Onyema: They  even called me.Iam on the  road going to the office. When I get to the office, my IT  girl will help me do this thing well.I don’t know how to do all these things.Na dem buy am yesterday for me, when I got information about what happened.Iam inside the car, my phone is in the car.Even now,I switched it off.As Iam talking to you,I don’t trust anything again.Let me get to the office.Just calm down.Let me get to the office.I will call you.

Samuel :Okay sir, Okay

Onyema: For them to proceed on anything, they need my cooperation now,abi

Samuel: Em well, yes, they will need your cooperation, please, I mean ,so that she can be released today. The family is..It is unbelievable what they are saying .

Onyema: Iam not even happy myself..I don’t want to go, start discussing…

Samuel: Okay sir.

Onyema:…Iam just approaching Third Mainland now

Samuel: Okay sir.

Pause

Onyema: Hello

Samuel: Hello sir

Onyema: I have gotten to the office. They have done it for me now

Samuel: Oh,okay.Em please sir..We are just trying to see if you could  help us for them to vary the terms they are trying to give for her bail

Onyema: First of all, let me say this

Samuel: Ok sir

Onyema: ..So that you will understand it.Somebody called me yesterday

Samuel: Okay sir.

Onyema: The person sent me a message first of all.I didn’t  know who the person was.He called me , he said it was about you.So I called the person. One Edward..called me

Samuel: Okay

Onyema:  And spoke to me.So I told him that even me that these people took my phones, that even my police here…. no, you don’t do that to him.Whatever you want of him ,you invite him.I went there yesterday evening. So I said okay, I  would contact my lawyers my lawyers before anything. If you say you are eavesdropping on my calls, that you people intercepted my calls. How did it  happen? They said I should bring my phone, let them show me immediately..it’s my main number…MTN (Reads out number)

Samuel : Okay sir

Onyema: My MTN  number. You also should learn from this, even as Iam talking to you now, the phone is not around me.Once that phone is bugged,I didn’t know that my phone had been bugged for the past several months, every discussion you are making, they are hearing it.So when they are hearing it, it depends on what they make out of your discussion. If it is the one they can call you, they call you.If it is something that doesn’t concern you, they leave you.So that was what happened

Samuel: Oh oh

Onyema: Yes, that was what happened. I didn’t, it wasn’t my this thing. That was exactly how it happened. So I became speechless.I said okay, that I would come there today. That is one. Secondly, there are so many other things I was hearing around there but it is  not for me to go into it.The most important thing now is how this girl will  come out. Even my money I gave her is with her,Iam not bothered about that.

Samuel: I mean, that will have to,  If that is with the EFCC, they will then give it back to you… Hello?

Onyema: ..Once I have parted with it, I have parted with it,I don’t care.Because even me I was in the this thing before somebody ran back to me and said there is problem outside. So  me,I ran down and I started asking the police what is happening? What is happening? Why all this? All the noise and my policemen were also trying to separate me and them. He said look, for your information, we follow all your calls. Are you satisfied now? That was what the man said.I now stepped back.I don’t know the conditions they are giving because nobody allowed me to see anybody this morning. I went there this morning earlier. I went there. They said I would make a statement.I waited for  Alege, my lawyer to come before I do  anything. He said I should wait for him.Later he called, he said I should tell them that he will make it later in the day, that I should go to wherever I was going to, because,Iam not feeling fine..

Samuel: Sorry about that

Onyema: Based on that, I was allowed to go.Even the girl helped to take me upstairs.Your girl helped to take me upstairs with my receptionist

Samuel: Okay sir.

Onyema: They helped me to stabilize..So what conditions are they giving?

Samuel: They are asking for a level Civil Servant,C of O, I mean Letter of Introduction of the Civil Servant. And that is for one person. And then another person, a private person who must also  have a  land, a property, C of O,three years tax clearance. And all that and all that.Quite complex, you know very stringent conditions, which seem to be that they want to keep her.And it shouldn’t be…She doesn’t know anything

Onyema : What of the parents?

Samuel: The parents. The parents are there. The parents are  in Lagos. They are in Yaba. She was coming to see them and do official work .That was what she came for.I was the one who..

Onyema: That is what Iam saying. Can .., because they will not allow me,because that one is given, because Iam part of the..They will not allow me

Samuel: What can you say they should do?

Onyeama: ..Can they allow the parents to sign for her

Samuel: Well if you can help us

Onyema: Even if they don’t  have any of these things

Samuel: Yeah, if you can help us intervene please, we will be very grateful so that her parents..I think her dad is around there

Onyema: ..Do you have a lawyer? Your lawyer can make that eh..

Samuel: Our lawyer is there. Our lawyer is there but unfortunately they are saying that they want..

Onyema: They are not allowing him?

Samuel: No, they are saying that they want those conditions. So but I think if you help us intervene,I think it will go a long way, to say let her parents take her.I mean her parents are in Yaba, they have their house there in Yaba.So let them take her on bail..

Onyema: They won’t listen to me now, because me too, Iam being accused

Samuel: (Sighs) God!

Onyema: They won’t listen to me

Samuel:   Ahhh!

Onyema: They won’t listen to me.I think what the lawyer should do in this case is not to go there, ‘Iam a lawyer’, you start fighting. He should just assure them ,okay,I will produce this and that.Lawyers do it at times and get the parents  sign for this girl. This is a youg girl, let her come out. I think that’s what he should do.That is what the lawyer should do.If your lawyer can get across to me, let me talk with him.

Samuel: I could add him to this call sir

Onyema: Ehhen

Samuel: Okay, I don’t know whether they would allow but that is what he has been telling me..

Onyema: Another thing is that from what I was hearing this morning, my own lawyers are very, very..I think I even have to call my lawyer.Because they too, you know because his name is in this thing, they are the ones even feeling more wounded than myself.

Samuel: Iam sorry, you were saying you heard some things. What did you hear sir?

Onyema: I said my lawyers are feeling more wounded with the allegations than myself even.

Samuel:  I don’t even know.I don’t know what they want to accuse you or myself of doing. That is what we are.., we find it really strange. What is it,what is the offence?

Onyema: They(his lawyers) are feeling more wounded of the allegations from Centre for this thing where they tried to paint legit transactions as fraudulent.

Samuel: Yes,yes and because of what it is..

Onyema: You said?

Samuel: Iam just saying that the allegations that the (Names Centre) that they came up with against you, that is why I said this thing, like I told you, for us, it doesn’t meet  up to our own standard that Peoples Gazette would publish, that’s why we discussed  and you felt look, let’s get them not to publish this.

Onyema: The , the , the , the, let me even call him.

Samuel: Anyway, my lawyer is on the call.I have just added him sir.Ini, do you want to advice him sir?Ini, Chief Onyema is on the call

Sam’s Lawyer: Chief Iam  one of your most regular passengers oo

Onyema : (Laughs) Thank you my brother.Thank you, thank you. ..Please at this moment every hand  should be on deck to  see that this young girl is released.I think what you should do if you can bring..will they allow the parents?Because this something of level  16 and others, you know those kind of conditions might be  difficult for somebody to reach and she is  still a very young girl.I think..I don’t want you to go there  to make this people look at you as a lawyer, but talk to them as brother to brother.Let them bring the parents to maybe stand surety for her.Iam sure they might listen. It depends on approach.

Sam’s Lawyer:..The parents are available but they are insistent on those conditions.

Onyema: They are insisting on those  conditions?

Sam’s Lawyer: Yeah, the parents are on ground. We even made them come with passport, ID Card and so on,but they are not prepared…..

Onyema: Do you have any other person other than the direct parents who may not meet up with all the conditions of level 16 but could meet up even if it’s level 10 or level  8,..something like that?

Sam’s lawyer: We are running around to see

Onyema: Because even during my own time, the other time, they gave me such conditions. They gave me all manner of conditions for bail. So, if you can get somebody, even if the person does not  meet up, exactly ..level 16,even if it’s level 10  person.Even if it’s land in Mowe, ..at least maybe for their own procedure, that will help. And make sure you don’t irritate anybody there.I know, we are colleagues, Iam a lawyer myself.Sometimes we get angry and we say things. It’s okay, just try and play it down so that they can get bail please

Sam’s Lawyer: Yes, we are doing that sir

Onyema: If you can get somebody even if the person  doesn’t meet up to level 16.

Sam’s lawyer: Yes,we are working on that sir

Onyema: Did you see my lawyer’s there?

Sam’s lawyer: No

Samuel: Alege?

Onyema: Which side did you  go to?You know they have two offices

Sam’s lawyer:  Okay,it’s  Ikoyi

Onyema: In Ikoyi there, they  have two offices

Samuel: I think the section that is handling, it is it not under CME or something?

Onyema: They have two offices there. There is one in Okotie Eboh, there is one other, where the zonal head is,I don’t know.

Sam’s lawyer: I think it’s where the zonal head is.

Onyema: Let me call my lawyers,I will call you back.Samuel, you can give me your lawyer’s number

Samuel:  It’s already on this call..Ok,I will send it to you right away sir

Onyema: Send it to me,I will get back to you.

Samuel: Okay, thank you sir

Sam’s lawyer: All right.

(Audio ends)

Listen to the conversation below:

It is clear in the audio that Onyema tried to deceive Ogundipe into believing that law enforcement became aware of the blackmail saga after bugging his telephone. He apparently did not want the “journalist” to know at that point that it was he (Onyema) who called in the EFCC for a sting operation on the matter.

Newsdiaryonline called Ogundipe for his reaction to the audio and for his account on the entire saga. He did not pick his call. This was followed Saturday by several questions sent to him by WhatsApp, he did not respond.See the screenshot below:

Despite the facts within the public domain already, some analysts remain sceptical. One US-based Nigerian public commentator said, in all of these, “EFCC is an arm of the government and so it’s not so suprising that they will go after someone considered an enemy of the state, knowing the way our country works . Of course I have no idea if the guy did it or not but just giving the benefit of the doubt. We will see how it plays out and the evidence they have against him.”

Crime / Timothy Adegoke Death: 12 More Facts Emerge - Vanguard For The Truth Foundation by Ndlistic(m): 2:06pm On Nov 18, 2021
OAU MBA Student Death, 12 More Facts Emerge - Vanguard For The Truth Foundation

12 more facts have emerged on the case of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife MBA student, Timothy Adegoke Oludare whose disappearance and eventual death has been generating a lot of controversies in the past couple of days and has led to the arrest of the owner and 6 staff of the hotel where he allegedly lodged before his disappearance.

Aderibigbe Adekunle of the Vanguard for Truth Foundation, a non-governmental organisation made it known that;

1. There are indications that there are some new revelations about some of accusations made against the Ife-born educationist and business man especially by the brother of the deceased who has been going all over various media to accuse the hotelier of using his brother for rituals

2. It was gathered that the initial denial of the hotel management as to whether Adegoke lodged with them was because there was no record of any payment by him in the Hotel’s account, but it was later that it was detected that he made payment into the personal account of the receptionist which normally is wrong.

3. Another fact discovered during the investigations was that the hotel had operated for less than 2 years and had never recorded any death as the public was led to believe by the deceased brother.

4. Also, the lady receptionist who was recently employed by the hotel is on a salary of twenty-five thousand naira (N25,000) and not two hundred thousand naira (N200,000) as being spread in some media

5. It was discovered that the person called Alfa which could be misinterpreted as an Islamic cleric and possibly a spiritualist or ritualist is actually a plumber and maintenance manager in the hotel and is neither a cleric nor a ritualist.

6. As a very busy person, Dr. Adedoyin is not personally involved in the day-to-day running of the hotel in question as he has other more important businesses which include

5 tertiary institutions within and outside Nigeria, security outfit, publishing and hospitality business.
7. It was also found out that Adedoyin did not become rich overnight like many wealthy Nigerians, but has been in the business of education for more than 40 years starting as home lesson teacher, owner of tutorial college, a private polytechnic, and a university before venturing into the hotel business.

8. From investigations on the fees and population of Oduduwa University alone, Adedoyin obviously makes money aside from universities owned by him in the USA and Ghana where they pay in dollars and many other businesses and investments that have good returns, so he does not need any ritual.

9. It was also discovered that Dr Adedoyin is a devout Muslim who has performed holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Jerusalem several times. He has also greatly contributed to the development of Ife land and Osun State

10. Contrary to the claim that the exhumed Timothy’s corpse was mutilated, the whole body parts were intact and the autopsy being conducted was to discover the cause of death.

11. A fact being overlooked by many is that according to the earlier statement by the wife, the deceased was sick when he left home, and that was one of the reasons the wife kept checking on him by phone calls.

12. Also, Timothy’s elder brother openly threatened to tarnish and destroy Adedoyin’s name and his businesses and has been doing just that, on different social media platforms to drag Oduduwa University into a matter that happened at a hotel.

Politics / Sanusi: Buhari Should Be Impeached For Spending Millions Of Dollars On Subsidy by Ndlistic(m): 7:39am On Oct 27, 2021
Dethroned emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi ll on Tuesday said the constitution gives room for the impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari for paying millions in fuel subsidies without appropriation.

“Every year, the government spends millions upon millions of dollars on fuel subsidies without appropriation. Under the constitution, this is enough ground to impeach the President.

“But nobody is holding them to account. The National Assembly is not holding them to account,” Mr Sanusi was quoted by Vanguard to have said at the Nigeria Economic Summit in Abuja on Tuesday.

The former CBN governor said the federal government’s populist approach was hurting the nation.

He implored the Buhari-led regime to be courageous enough to take the right decisions, saying the country was running a populist instead of a developmental state.

“Those in government must understand that there are times that you have to make some decisions not because they are popular but because they are right.

“We have to decide to run a developmental state and not a rental state; not a populists state,” the former emir said.

He further said that the Nigerian government was subsidising fuel, electricity at the expense of the growth of education in the country.

“We are pursuing a populist policy: we want to have cheap fuel, cheap electricity, a strong Naira. That is populism.

“At the end of the day, what price are we paying by taking money out of education in order to subsidise petroleum products?” he said.

Politics / Presidential Air Fleet Cost Rises By 185.6%, Gulps N50.75bn In Five Years by Ndlistic(m): 2:38pm On Oct 24, 2021
THE budgetary allocations for the Presidential Air Fleet have increased from N4.37bn in 2017 to N12.48bn in 2022, according to data obtained from the appropriation bills of the Federal Government within the period under review.

This shows an increase of N8.11bn or 185.58 per cent in five years, signalling a rise in the cost of running the Presidential Air Fleets.

On October 7, 2021, the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), presented the 2022 budget proposal to a joint session of the National Assembly; a whopping N16.39tn, which will send the Federal Government on another borrowing spree of N6.23tn. According to the proposal, N12.48bn was appropriated for the PAFs.

Sunday PUNCH observed that budgetary allocations for the PAFs have been on a steady increase since 2017, except for 2020, where the allocation saw a slight drop by N503.75m against the preceding year.

In 2017, the proposed allocation was N4.37bn. Recurrent expenditure—comprising personnel remuneration and overhead—amounted to N4.37bn. The sum of N399.50m was allocated for capital projects.

In 2018, the proposed allocation was N7.26bn. Recurrent expenditure—comprising of personnel remuneration and overhead—amounted to N4.36bn. N2.90bn was allocated for capital projects. This showed an increase of 66.13 per cent from the previous year.

In 2019, the proposed allocation was N7.30bn. Recurrent expenditure—comprising of personnel remuneration and overhead—amounted to N4.36bn while N2.94bn was allocated for capital projects. This showed an increase of 0.55 per cent from the previous year.

In 2020, the proposed allocation was N6.79bn. Recurrent expenditure—comprising of personnel remuneration and overhead—amounted to N3.02bn while N3.77bn was allocated for capital projects.

The allocation for 2020 dropped by 6.99 per cent compared to 2019. This decrease which was in overhead cost may be connected to the global lockdown that ceased operations for several months.

In 2021, the proposed allocation was N12.55bn. Recurrent expenditure—comprising of personnel remuneration and overhead—amounted to N4.37bn while N8.18bn was allocated for capital projects. This showed an increase of 84.83 per cent from the previous year.

In 2022, the proposed allocation was N12.48bn. Recurrent expenditure—comprising of personnel remuneration and overhead—amounted to N4.35bn while N8.13bn was allocated for capital projects. Personnel remuneration for 2022 increased by N13.5m or 3.1 per cent from the previous year. The allocation for 2022 decreased by 0.56 per cent compared to 2021.

According to the breakdown, Buhari proposed N2bn for the repair of air navigational equipment, N210m for the purchase of Phase 7 Avionics for AW 139 helicopters, N1.6bn for general maintenance, N1bn for aircraft maintenance and N250m for aviation fuel.

Cumulatively, however, the PAFs allocation increased by 185.58 per cent between 2017 and 2022.

The General Secretary of the Aviation Round Table, Olumide Ohunayo, blamed the meteoric rise in the allocations for the PAF, on the age of the aircraft in the fleet. He also blamed the declining value of the naira as well as the “commercial use” of aircraft by the Nigerian Airforce.

In an interview with Sunday Punch Ohunayo said, “The cost will definitely increase over the years because for one, these aircraft are not new. And the older the aircrafts, the higher the cost of maintenance and operation.

“Also, during these past years, terrorism and insecurity have increased in Nigeria which has also affected the cost of insuring the aircraft.

“Lastly, this issue of the naira against the dollar. As the naira keeps falling to the dollar, we will see the rise in cost because most of the cost of training crew, engineers and replacing parts of the aircraft are all in dollars.

TV/Movies / How Whitemoney Took It All – BBNaija by Ndlistic(m): 12:17pm On Oct 04, 2021
Whitemoney has been crowned the Shine Ya Eye Winner! We take a look at how he went about playing Africa's biggest game.

The Big Brother Housemates spent their time in the House totally isolated from the outside world – no social media, no email, and the handful of messages that they were allowed to see from friends and family were carefully vetted by Big Brother to make sure that they didn’t give anything away. Consequently, none of them could know what their fans were saying about them, how the voting numbers played out or how popular they were.

But – come on – those of us who were paying attention to the thousands of social media posts, the fan accounts, and the general conversation about the happenings inside the House would have picked at least some of those Top 6 finalists early in the game. Liquorose, Pere and Whitemoney were early contenders for the top three spots, but they went about getting there in totally different ways.

Everyone knows, by now, that Whitemoney has been named the winner of the Shine Ya Eye season – his prize ceremony is mere hours away at the time of writing – and his fans have been crowing ever since, while the other Housemates’ supporters have spent that time eating crow. The question is, how did Whitemoney get here? How did he become a favourite for the Grand Prize so early in the competition? This is a look at Whitemoney’s Shine Ya Eye Playbook.

Take it easy

It’s no secret that Whitemoney was possibly the most laidback of the Housemates: he was no pushover, but he seldom got himself embroiled in big fights – unless the kitchen supplies were being misused. When the other Housemates were involved in a standoff, Whitemoney almost never picked a side, but would offer his advice (good or not) to the parties involved. In a Game that often rewards those who make the most noise, Whitemoney has shown that playing it cool can be just as effective.

Take it super easy!

Okay, we’ve spoken about his laidback attitude toward conflict, but we need to talk about his so-laidback-he’s-practically-horizontal approach to physical exertion. The morning gym sessions come to mind, here. While the other Housemates would grunt, squat, puff and sweat, Whitemoney would usually be lying down on his gym mat, looking at them like they were crazy. On the occasion that he did decide to move a muscle in unison with the others, it would be the bare minimum – and sometimes even less than that. Physical fitness, clearly, is for other people.

Be useful

Okay – the jury is still out as to whether Whitemoney’s self-appointed position as chef-in-residence was a deliberate strategy, but if it was, is worked. And if it wasn’t – it worked, too. When Pere used his position as Head of House to block Whitemoney from the kitchen, it was because he identified the threat: somebody who is indispensable and forever in everybody’s good graces is unlikely to find himself on the Nomination lists, meaning that everybody else’s risk goes up. As a game plan, Pere was probably spot on.

Where he failed, however, was to properly prepare for the move. Whitemoney’s disappearance from the kitchen led to almost instant food shortages, fights and animosity toward Pere’s leadership style, which became increasingly heavy-handed as he fought to retain a semblance of authority while the tide turned against him. In the end, his manoeuvre failed spectacularly, and Whitemoney was returned to his position as Kitchen Guy, and nobody ever challenged it again. As such, Whitemoney became a fixture.

This wasn’t lost on the Big Brother audience, either. We all saw Pere’s attempt at steering the game his way, and we all saw it fail. While Pere’s popularity with fans certainly increased, his early own goal would never have been far from his mind – or Whitemoney’s. His continued survival of numerous Nominations would have given him some assurance that the viewers had his back.

Be humble

And if you can’t be humble, be good at pretending to be. Whitemoney’s gratitude after surviving his first Live Eviction Show was palpable, and it translated into support from viewers, who saw it as proof that he wasn’t the typical arrogant, too-cool-for-school competitor. In the same vein, Whitemoney regularly said that his time in the House taught him a lot about himself, and about the type of person he wanted to be – another sign of humility that resonated with the voting audience.

Be funny

Whitemoney has a decent sense of humour – about those around him and himself. His regular joking around made for some good viewing, even when what an audience usually wants is a no-holds-barred fight. Being able to joke with every one of the Housemates was a trait that everyone recognised, and it made some of the conversations in the House all the better for it.

Don’t sweat the little things

Okay, let’s just say it – Whitemoney was hopeless at the Head of House Games. Sure – he won it, once, but that was basically a fluke. He never ran fast enough to build up a sweat and would even stop everything if he rolled a “go back to start”, or something. He simply never thought that the Head of House position was worth dying over. Which is strange, because the position comes with Immunity – he just didn’t think the immunity was that big a deal and – for him – it obviously wasn’t. He survived every single one of his Nominations and just kept moving right along into Finale Week, then the Top 3, the Top 2 and all the way to the Grand Prize. We’re sure he had a game plan – it’s just that being the unbeatable boss was not it.

There you have it – Whitemoney’s unique approach to the Shine Ya Eye Season has left him as the ultimate winner. We’re sure much will be said about his win in the coming weeks, but the only thing there is to say now is, “well done, Igbo Kid!”

Politics / Religious Intolerance: Nigerians Must Learn This Solution From Osun By Adeola by Ndlistic(m): 3:29pm On Jul 23, 2021

Religious intolerance: Nigerians must learn this solution from Osun By Adeola Ajayi

Many people were marveled at the recent news that went viral, in which a Pastor, Mr. Oluwaseun Basil Alabi, renovated a 60-year-old mosque, popularly known as Alatise mosque, situated around Popo junction in Ikire, Irewole Local Government Area of Osun State.

The public applause the gesture elicited indicates the place of religion in the social psyches of the people and emphasizes the need for social reorientation towards harmony and unity of purpose, irrespective of religious beliefs.

Also, the gesture further gives credence to the notion that there are people of impeccable background with consciousness for humanity despite the level of societal rot and seeming disunity in our societal structure and modern setting.

Going forward therefore, the gesture was intrinsically a product of an inherent philosophy of a dynasty in the sleepy town of Ikire, the popular Alabi family of ile Elere.

The late patriarch of the dynasty, who was a leading elite of the town during his life time, Baba John Oyeyemi Alabi, was a rare breed in all ramifications, who was a rally point for the town in all developmental initiatives, not minding his faith and political ideology.

Like Pastor Alabi rightly recalled in his remarks during the commissioning of the renovated mosque, the late Alabi played a leading role during the construction of Ikire Central Mosque despite his deep rooted background in the Catholic faith.

That was the robust foundation of societal change instilled in the psyches of all members of the family irrespective of their chosen careers and affiliations.

As Vincent Van Gogh rightly puts it,'' The best way to know God is to love many things'', obviously, the love of humanity, Ikire and the State of Osun has clearly saddled this leader of thoughts with historical responsibility of governance in our dear state with fear of God.

It is on that note that I congratulate the highly cerebral and energetic Deputy Governor of the State of Osun, Mr Benedict Olugboyega Alabi, the man who imbibes the family's ideology passionately to the letter.

It is therefore noteworthy that our dynamic Deputy Governor has led by example while following the footstep of his father and the patriarch of Alabi dynasty of Ikire, which now resonates in his younger brother.

I hereby congratulate the family and enjoin them to sustain the tempo of this great virtue.

Adeola Ajayi, Ikire

Politics / Buratai Mourns General Ibrahim Attahiru, Other Senior Military Officers by Ndlistic(m): 1:15pm On May 23, 2021
TRIBUTE AND CONDOLENCE ON THE PASSING AWAY OF THE CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF NIGERIAN ARMY AND SOME SENIOR MILITARY OFFICERS

I was deeply shocked and saddened by the news of the passing away of my immediate successor, Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), the Acting Chief of Military Intelligence, Acting Provost Marshal (Army), his Chief of Staff, the Aide-de-Camp and the Acting Deputy Director Finance in the office of the COAS, his Orderly, as well as the pilots and crew in an air crash on 21 May 2021 at Kaduna Airport.

I would like to, on behalf of my family, reiterate my deepest sympathy and condolences to the President, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, the families of the deceased, the Honourable Minister of Defence, the Chief of Defence, the Chief of Air Staff, gallant officers, soldiers and airmen of the Armed Forces of Nigeria over the passing away of these courageous, loyal and patriotic Nigerians in line of duty.

I am deeply saddened by this incident that can best be described as tragic to all Nigerians and peace-loving people because Lieutenant General Ibrahim Attahiru and those officers that died along with him were top-level officers whose records of service were meritorious. .

This unfortunate incident deeply saddens me as it robbed us of the services of the Chief of Army Staff who, since he took over from me, had left no one in doubt as regards his determination to succeed in the various military operations across the country. He was at the verge of making the nation proud in the counterinsurgency and counterterrorism efforts when this tragedy occurred. I do not doubt his ability as he had served under me in various capacities and was well grounded for the job with active support and collaboration of his colleagues.

While condoling the Armed Forces of Nigeria, I urge them to close ranks and make sure that their legacy lives on by consolidating on the gains made in the various operations. They gave their lives in the line of duty and patriotic service to the nation.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of these great heroes. May the Almighty Allah grant them eternal rest. Amin.
