Decades ago, people in power were young people between late 20s to 40s
Today, the people in this age group are just useless. The only place you see them active is social media.

Religion is another problem.

While most Muslims will come out to vote, some foolish Christians believe that JESUS IS THEIR KING, they don't believe any other 'king' exists.
So they don't participate in politics but can complain bitterly about bad governance.

They are religious but mostly hypocrites.

Before you start insulting he who gave you the freewill and life. If you think you know anything about him, did he ever ask his followers not to participate in political and civic duties? No.
You're write up clearly shows you're not abreast with the true happenings. The Christians register only from 18yrs which is the legal age whereas in the North, babies have PVCs! so who's doing the right thing? I hate it so much when people just generalize with little or no information at all.
Ever since I turned 18yrs, I have voted in all the election/selections.
I will tell you what the problem is, the system is bad, decayed and undemocratic at all. In all the "working" countries of the world, the citizens matter a lot . How many politicians have been killed by Boko haram, Fulani herdsmen and other militia groups?
In Nigeria it's only about the politicians and we the masses are not considered and our lives doesn't matter to them.

There are too many children and overgrown babies that feel the need to hurl insults and profanities at every turn, especially to ladies.

I respond to them accordingly but sometimes i overlook.

The best way is to overlook them all, replying only makes you look pained and fuels their nonsensical acts.
I have found out that some people still retain the bad attitude you're "suggesting/advising them to change ". Arguing with them makes you cut a frustrated figure.

4) no one who prayed for anything that actually required god's intervention - like our Christians do for Leah Sheribu- had any faith

Op, there are other ways Leah sharibu would have done it and set herself free from captivity and still remain a christian which would have been wiser than her inspiring christians who are observing the situation at the expense of her freedom and liberty.

Denying Islam in the presence of her captors who want her to change her faith to Islam for her freedom is not necessary.

From using girls of mixed heritage/mulattos in music videos and most times very light skin girls or using very light skin girls in soap adverts.
