I always felt pain driving through Kogi state. You could almost touch the poverty in the atmosphere. I have also seen painful poverty in Imo state, in the town bordering Rivers State.

HealthRe: I Am 20, HIV Positive, And Scared of What Will Happen When the Pills Run Out. by Nebes: 8:20pm On Aug 08, 2025
RetroviralS:
Most young people my age worry about grades, jobs, or love.

I worry about whether I’ll be able to afford the medication that keeps me alive.

The number one fear of most AYPLHIV (Adolescents and Young People Living with HIV) is a future where we have to pay for all the daily medications and regular tests that we need to stay alive.

This fear is valid because there is real uncertainty around the future funding of HIV programmes in Nigeria. I’ve been fortunate enough to get higher education that gave me tech skills: the kind of skills that will guarantee me a steady source of income in the future. But the reality?

Most AYPLHIV don’t have the means to acquire such skills or access higher education. And even when some finally get a job, it’s often far from where they can access their medication forcing them to reject the offer entirely.

If there were more funding for HIV programmes, there could be more centers. That would mean AYPLHIV wouldn’t have to choose between a career and their health.

There’s a beauty and peace in being “normal” that AYPLHIV may never get to experience. But life can be made much easier if support structures are put in place.

That’s why I am committed to advocating for this for the rest of my life.

What about you?

If this was your life, what’s the very first change you’d want to see in Nigeria’s health system? I’m listening.
Gather funds and japa please.
That's all I can say for now.

I don't know what is selfless about a man who wanted to give massive settlements in every state to his Fulani brothers.

Please what is patriotic about a man who promised that blood will flow if he loses an election?
RomanceRe: Customer SNAPS At Popeyes Workers For Calling His Wife "Beautiful" (Photos/Video by Nebes: 9:02am On Jul 08, 2025
Glimpsetv:
I once witnessed a similar scenario at a popular mall. The guy in charge of the shawarma section was telling a woman, “Ah, madam, you are so beautiful. I like your this and that...” Meanwhile, her husband was standing right behind us.

I was beside the woman, waiting to place my order. It felt kind of funny to me, and a lot of thoughts started running through my mind — especially because he was whispering it.

I got my order first and left. I don't know if the husband heard or reacted, but honestly, I felt it was kinda creepy.

People should learn to keep quiet sometimes, especially when a lady is with her man.
You may mean no harm, but the guy might see it as you trying to flirt with his woman. People think differently, and levels of maturity vary.
A lot of people lack emotional intelligence.

HealthRe: I Am Addicted To Eating Nzu!!!!! by Nebes: 7:02pm On Jun 30, 2025
Nzu addiction has been correlated to iron deficiency. Your body might be asking for more iron to correct anemia. If we check well, your blood level might be low due to poor dietary intake, heavy menstruation, ulcers or any other bleeding tendency.

FamilyRe: Nigerian Women Share Their Experiences After Giving Birth by Nebes: 11:40am On Jun 12, 2025
It's difficult to please some people. My wife tells people I was mean and wicked to her while she was in labour. Madam what evil did your husband do? You were having labour pains and your husband refused to drive you to the market to buy vegetables that you don't need. Oga drove you to the hospital against your wish. You might believe her when she tells you she was treated harshly while in labour.

FamilyWill You Accept This Your Mum's Decision by Nebes(op): 10:28am On Jun 10, 2025
Your father married your mum as a teenager, saw her through school and always provided for her. She gave birth to 5 children, became a teacher while your dad hustled for money. Your mum raised the kids and dad provided.

Over the years, dad became very rich but was not very faithful. Mum lived through the pains of dad's infidelity. Dad established a multi million naira business for mum. Mum soon became a millionaire. Mum acquired assets with loads of money in the bank. Dad remained a big boy.

Mum is on her dying bed and decides to will all of her money and assets to her siblings instead of her kids. Mum's siblings are very willing to take over mum's assets even as they have their own families. You and your siblings are all over 30 years old, though not all independent, but mum believes your dad's stuff is enough for you guys.

Will you accept this? What should dad do? Mum's siblings have hated on dad over the years. Dad's money is more than enough for him shaaa. But will you accept your mum's decision.

I applied for a US visa from a European country. I can bet money the consular officer stamped denial for me even before I got to his counter. The interview process didn't last up to 2 minutes.

HenryWilliams:
They have a daily, weekly visa quota to utilize..once that quota is filed up .the rest is rejection..
It's a win-win for them
They reject half and keep all the money.
I bet if visa fees are refundable..the rejection rate would be lower
It's all about the money. I'm not sure they really care about who is denied or approved.

Please can you mention the name of the school? Was it a boarding school?
I wish I could. I can't for some personal reasons.

I don’t say it is not possible, even if I say so. It is rare,
Also, which school did you finish from and what year did you do jamb exam?
Forget the name of the school. I've told you it's over 2 decades. It is not a public school and it's only for a very select few. Advertising is also not their thing.

I now reside in a western country. I've applied some of the principles I learnt to my own children and the native English speakers marvel at the vast array of their vocabulary. The difference is that my Nigerian accent remains identifiable while my kids can switch between the Nigerian accent and that of the native speakers.

I don’t believe, and my point is it’s not easy to pass English language like other subjects.
I forgot to mention that the pass mark for English in my school was 60%. With the way we were taught, we didn't waste time studying English for external exams. I wish I could give you more details.

A school where you Must summarize one novel every Saturday. A school where you must write down ten new words with their meanings every day. WAEC and JAMB English was children's food for us.

Tohsynetita1:
I don’t believe, and my point is it’s not easy to pass English language like other subjects.
It's very easy to pass English. It all depends on your school's system. You say it's difficult based on how you were taught. My school made it compulsory for everyone to pass English every term. Then in my school, even if you get As in all subjects and fail English, you failed the term. Fail it for 3 terms, and you repeat the class.

You don't have to believe me. I won't give you more details for the sake of my identity. It's over 25 years now and I believe the standard remains high there. We were living dictionaries. We read the Oxford dictionary like a textbook. What you think is impossible in your sphere can be quite possible elsewhere. If only you'll believe we were taught even the Greek and Latin origins of English words. English was water for us but we struggled with physics.

Lol, it’s everywhere, it’s not easy to pass English language like other subject, I am very sure their will be no 90 to 85 in this year English language jamb result. That’s how it has always been since time immemorial, even if you are an English teacher and you write English language in jamb, I am very sure you may not have 70 percent self.
Do you know the meaning to all words in life?
If you don’t know the meaning, how will you know the opposite in meaning?
Comprehension passages is another problem in jamb, you can use all your time to read passages and if you are to answer questions, you will not even understand what that question is asking.
They are very lucky, jamb question has been reduced, if it’s the era of 100 English language question and others subject are 50 questions, in fact, they may score very less in that English than what they have here.
Opposite in meaning is like 20 questions
Nearest in meaning like 20
Comprehension like 15
Register like 10
These aspects are very hard to pass.
Only lexis and structure, Oral that converts the 45 are those you can use laws of concord for. The rest are luck because once you don’t understand the meaning of the words you can’t answer the questions confidently, you will only guess.
Then how many words do you want to know the meaning from millions of English words we have. And the more you cram it the more you forget.
Also, if you aren’t in an English speaking environment, you will never hear some words till you die.
So, leave their teachers alone. That’s how English has always been.
I got 90% in Jamb English during my time. Most of my classmates also had high scores in English but our scores in Physics reduced our total marks. We did not have a reliable physics teacher. Imagine getting a total of 280 in Jamb with a score of 42 in Physics. I believe teachers play a significant role. Get a better English language teacher for those kids up there and you won't recognize their final scores.
FamilyWhat Matters More, Spending Or Saving? by Nebes(op): 9:43am On May 13, 2025

I keep thanking God for my dad, for making it possible for me to have a second Passport and citizenship of a top tier North American country... Had it been I am only a Nigerian, I would be crying everyday... I have not even renewed my expired Nigerian passport.

Look at South Africa playing the big brother role that Nigeria supposed to be involved with. Tinubu and his nepotistic failed regime is busy suspending governor and luring other governors to defect to his party... Without any tangible achievements....

Nigeria una shame dey shame me... 🙆🏿‍♂️
