this problem can be solved within 2 years if we pay attention to agriculture.

The government should disburse grants to farmers nationwide and setup committee to monitor the grant beneficiaries.

by next harvest, food will be plentiful and their will be food surplus.

Can you guarantee that the weather/climate will allow a bountiful harvest? Some parameters are beyond prediction. We can only try.

Listened to a few seconds of the video and I can tell she's an IDIIIOT with bad intentions.

First of all, 99% of the People who travel abroad do NOT do it to make money. So the premise of her NONSENSE argument is flawed.

The amount of money that is needed to complete the process of emigration in Nigeria is MIND-BOGGLING! The idea that it's ONLY poor people looking for money that choose to travel to UK, Europe, USA, Canada, etc is just plain DUMB!

It's even dumber when you consider the fact that a 40-year old man is UNLIKELY to receive external support to finance his plans.

People who travel do it to get AWAY from the economic quagmire, political instability, infrastructural collapse and the general LAWLESSNESS that is the hallmark of the Nigerian society.

Put simply, people travel out to get a better quality of life for themselves and their families.

Anyone who thinks people are fleeing Nigeria to make money is just being DELIBERATELY obtuse.

She's advocating for staying in Nigeria and "looking for money in dirty places". She doesn't realize that all the money in Nigeria would make no difference if you fall sick and the hospitals do NOT have ordinary X-ray machine to help with the diagnosis.

For those reading this:

If it enters your body to leave Nigeria and you can afford it, LEAVE! Even if you are 99 years old, LEAVE!

You sabi English well well.

That is just the bitter truth.
Africans would accommodate, respect and glorify the white person, even in rebel controlled territory, but will see their fellow African embarking on this kind of adventure as just another animal to be maltreated,ill-treated,unaccomodated,raped if it's a female and even murdered.
She should have restricted her adventure to the Western countries.

What he also said about the chronic docility of Nigerians is another bitter truth.
If I were a well to do or prominent person in Nigeria that is not directly affected by Tinubu's policies,I would not even bother calling out Tinubu or Nigerians.

Klass99:
The other time you were concerned about finding a serious date/relationship with one of your own (a fellow Naija woman) overseas. You've found one now and you're back again with a different dilemma

You are in the obodo where there's far more advanced technology dealing with fertility matters and the ability for early detection of issues if any. Yet, here you are, asking jamb question, when an honest conversation with healthcare experts and medical tests will help you more than NL.

Some of you will migrate and still carry along your warped African mentality and prejudices that never served you well to your new location, how do you expect to build a new life and thrive if you don't let go of un-helpful beliefs?

Smile4me, I thought you had more sense than this. My post is not meant as an insult but you can do better than bringing this to NL. High five that woman for refusing to have a child out of wedlock, she has a good head on her shoulders, before she ends up being part of the single mother statistics.

Do things right if you mean business. I don't know why at your age you should be looking for more than one child sef. You should be glad if you are able to have even one healthy child, women are not the only ones with fertility issues.

Appears harsh but you are totally right.
Thumbs up.

I now understand why part of the story offended you. Let me paint a brief picture for you.
Their work is to keep the house clean. They are not involved in the children's care, feeding or cooking major meals. We ( me, wifey and kids) all leave the house 7:30am (school runs) and return 5pm on a good day. Biko how stressful is it to sweep, wash plates and probably hang clothes out to dry and bring them in? The clothes are washed with the washing machine. They have almost 10 hours of unsupervised work a day. We their bosses don't have that kind of luxury. Their evening work is to help prepare dinner and wash up after. They retire 9pm on the average daily.
My opinion is that my house gives them room to be very lazy as there's almost no work. My wife and I stand on our feet working almost throughout the day so we need some help in the evenings. Is that too much to ask for? We bathe, feed and dress up our kids ourselves. I can go on and on. They start begging when we ask them to leave but Rukky appreciated her work and the environment.

Everything looks easy when you are not the one doing it. But if it were actually that easy, you and wifey wouldn't need the house-helps in the first place would you?

Are you saying every maid who passed through your house was like this? How many kids do you have? My neighbour has 4 kids, all boys, her maids come and go like a revolving door. I don't blame them because the workload in that house is too much.

I once did two weeks baby sitting for a toddler, an energetic 2 year old who sapped my energy like crazy. I was going to bed tired and waking up tired, my work-outs were suspended because I didn't have any energy to work out after dealing with her each day. Thankfully, I hate a messy environment so no matter how drained I was I made certain the house was always clean. There was no way I was going to allow a two year old over-flog and over-swamp me to that point.

It is not about how much you pay them or other perks they enjoy. If the work load surpasses the money, perks and their energy (like my neighbour's case) they will either bounce or start to let things slip through the cracks.

This sounds like a crap load of bullshit! But let me indulge you by saying, you, your wife and Rukky are not alright at all. Your opening sentence and paragraph about a string of useless and lazy househelps, and them being a necessary evil, rubbed me the wrong way.

Were they truly useless and lazy or did you and wifey want to pass the bulk of your parental responsibilities on to them? And when they couldn't cope or were unwilling to work so much for little pay, you saw them as useless and lazy.

Necessary evil, kwa? Dem no send you message to start a family o.

I don't know the work you do, how much you earn and how much you save per month. Househelp work does not require any special skill and they're paid a minimum of 30k plus feeding, housing, toiletries and haircare with no transport to and from work plus occasional tips. A good saver will save all her salary for the month. I don't know if you consider it to be too small.
Then your madam comes back from work late in the evening and clothes that were hung out in the morning had been beaten by rain, plates unwashed in the sink and the parlour scattered. If that is not being useless I wonder what else is.

I'll keep it short.

We've had series of useless and lazy househelps. They are a necessary evil for us given our busy schedules, kids and big house. Last year we got lucky to get Rukky, a beautiful and hardworking young woman. Rukky has just informed my wife that she is not returning after the Xmas holidays and my wife is now blaming me. Her reason is shocking to me and I need the opinion of married women and ladies in general.

My wife said that Rukky left because I made no attempts to flirt with her after 9 months. It was obvious Rukky liked me but I always acted like she was not there. How do I flirt with another woman under the same roof with my wife and kids? My wife believes that if I had given Rukky a little attention she would have stayed longer. She is just missing the girl's hardworking nature.

I truly don't understand this.

So his efforts my not yield much in the end.

If only we had presidents that had just a little desire to make life easier for the people. One little presidential kindness can go a very long way. Imagine Buhari liking the increase in fuel price. Nigerians started suffering more from Tinubu's inauguration.

No matter the internal sabotage, a kind president will improve life for suffering Nigerians even if it is just a little.
