We heard that Dangote was denied visa to Ukraine some years ago. The story has it that they didn't want him to invest in their steel industry.

I was denied American visa twice. In the 2nd attempt, the officer just stamped denied as I was approaching his window. I simply sat down with hot tears in my eyes. The white European girl in the next cubicle was talking about going to Disneyland for 2 weeks. Her visa was approved.

I think Kwara state was doing their governorship elections. There were no elections in other states. We only got to know about the elections deep into the journey. I remember we were racing to get to Ilorin before 8am.
