Klass99: Everything looks easy when you are not the one doing it. But if it were actually that easy, you and wifey wouldn't need the house-helps in the first place would you?
Are you saying every maid who passed through your house was like this? How many kids do you have? My neighbour has 4 kids, all boys, her maids come and go like a revolving door. I don't blame them because the workload in that house is too much.
I once did two weeks baby sitting for a toddler, an energetic 2 year old who sapped my energy like crazy. I was going to bed tired and waking up tired, my work-outs were suspended because I didn't have any energy to work out after dealing with her each day. Thankfully, I hate a messy environment so no matter how drained I was I made certain the house was always clean. There was no way I was going to allow a two year old over-flog and over-swamp me to that point.
It is not about how much you pay them or other perks they enjoy. If the work load surpasses the money, perks and their energy (like my neighbour's case) they will either bounce or start to let things slip through the cracks. I now understand why part of the story offended you. Let me paint a brief picture for you. Their work is to keep the house clean. They are not involved in the children's care, feeding or cooking major meals. We ( me, wifey and kids) all leave the house 7:30am (school runs) and return 5pm on a good day. Biko how stressful is it to sweep, wash plates and probably hang clothes out to dry and bring them in? The clothes are washed with the washing machine. They have almost 10 hours of unsupervised work a day. We their bosses don't have that kind of luxury. Their evening work is to help prepare dinner and wash up after. They retire 9pm on the average daily. My opinion is that my house gives them room to be very lazy as there's almost no work. My wife and I stand on our feet working almost throughout the day so we need some help in the evenings. Is that too much to ask for? We bathe, feed and clothe our kids ourselves. I can go on and on. They start begging when we ask them to leave but Rukky appreciated her work and the environment. |

Klass99: This sounds like a crap load of bullshit! But let me indulge you by saying, you, your wife and Rukky are not alright at all. Your opening sentence and paragraph about a string of useless and lazy househelps, and them being a necessary evil, rubbed me the wrong way.
Were they truly useless and lazy or did you and wifey want to pass the bulk of your parental responsibilities on to them? And when they couldn't cope or were unwilling to work so much for little pay, you saw them as useless and lazy.
Necessary evil, kwa? Dem no send you message to start a family o. I don't know the work you do, how much you earn and how much you save per month. Househelp work does not require any special skill and they're paid a minimum of 30k plus feeding, housing, toiletries and haircare with no transport to and from work plus occasional tips. A good saver will save all her salary for the month. I don't know if you consider it to be too small. Then your madam comes back from work late in the evening and clothes that were hung out in the morning had been beaten by rain, plates unwashed in the sink and the parlour scattered. If that is not being useless I wonder what else is. |

Foodqueen: Is she blaming you for real or just joking around with it. Some jokes are very expensive. If it's a joke I don't appreciate it at all. |
Family › Am I To Be Blamed? My Wife And The Househelp by Nebes(op): 9:59am On Jan 05, 2024 |
I'll keep it short.
We've had series of useless and lazy househelps. They are a necessary evil for us given our busy schedules, kids and big house. Last year we got lucky to get Rukky, a beautiful and hardworking young woman. Rukky has just informed my wife that she is not returning after the Xmas holidays and my wife is now blaming me. Her reason is shocking to me and I need the opinion of married women and ladies in general.
My wife said that Rukky left because I made no attempts to flirt with her after 9 months. It was obvious Rukky liked me but I always acted like she was not there. How do I flirt with another woman under the same roof with my wife and kids? My wife believes that if I had given Rukky a little attention she would have stayed longer. She is just missing the girl's hardworking nature.
I truly don't understand this. |

Basicend: For me, he would have been a better president than the current one. Although, he will face a lot of collective sabotage.
So his efforts my not yield much in the end. If only we had presidents that had just a little desire to make life easier for the people. One little presidential kindness can go a very long way. Imagine Buhari liking the increase in fuel price. Nigerians started suffering more from Tinubu's inauguration. No matter the internal sabotage, a kind president will improve life for suffering Nigerians even if it is just a little. |

Jewessgratitud3: This is like the fifth time this thing is happening to me. Anytime I eat semo, I begin to feel dizzy. I'm not really a semo person like that but each time I crave it with a particular soup and eat it, this happens.
I made bitter leaf soup and ate eba with it twice, nothing happened. Today because I didn't want the soup to cross over to the new year I decided to eat it with semo this morning and by evening I started feeling dizzy; this is not the first time I'm experiencing this. So I had to go and buy coke now and take. Feeling a bit better.now.
What could be the cause? Anyone experienced it before? Your semo is too light compared to the garri. Your sugar level drops faster with the semo and causes the dizziness. Go and test your blood sugar to be sure you don't have issues with carbohydrate metabolism. |

You better clean that girl up and start loving her. There's no going back since you were not strong enough to resist the marriage. Package her into your taste now that your mother is still alive. |

guobe: Most guys that their marriages crashed just few months after getting married are psychologically down and feeling the effect of the crashed marriage. They nolonger act normal again and feeling the effect of what went wrong. Imagine after spending millions of naira of your life savings to get married and it just crashes in less than 3 months after getting married, it's quite heartbreaking. There is a particular guy I know whose marriage crashed in 2 months currently the guy is so down that he hardly talks or associate with his peers as before. Most times you see him walking very fast and I have had to meet him and tell him to take it easy because there is always hope once there is life. He confided in me that he spent millions getting married and now this has happened. All in all ,life goes on. My cousin's marriage broke on the wedding day. The wife is remarried with kids. My brother never recovered. |

I am talking from experience though una fit correct me, if two friends are striving to make it, if one finally does, why is it that the one that made it 95% of them forgets the other friend who is still struggling, an helping hand is okay, a situation you yourself had experienced. No come dey ask me who i don help, i am almost there but still do the little i can afford to help. Life is vanity, we hold too much to what we can never keep, we all see lessons from life but daily we ignore. Jewessgratitud3: Batch cooking was necessary yesterday as I didn't want to enter the kitchen today and start stressing myself.
I couldn't eat since morning till this afternoon cos there was no light and I didn't want to turn on the gas and start warming any food cos I don't want to mess the kitchen sink with dirty plates and pots, so I just brought out one of the packs of food straight into the microwave as soon as they brought back the light and dished my beef stew. Ready to devour I thought to share with my well wishes here. join me guys. No drinks, staying off sugar this season.
Merry Christmas.
Biko I don't see anything simple in this meal. White rice with this kind of stew is always more sumptuous than a lot of nonsense people parade as classy food. |

Segzy19: You can't fight the fingers and structure that made you.... Go and ask Ambode.... Don't be an ingrate.... Everyone knows that without Wike, being a governor in Rivers state will always be a dream or wish to you....
Same governorship that people like Magnus Abe, Tonye Cole have laboured to get but failed yet you got it cheaply on a platter through Mike's help, now you are doing as if you worked for it... We all know how Sim got to where he is. Wike is his boss for pushing him up. But should Sim have folded his hands and watched Wike impeach him like he wanted? Sim showed some heavy balls. If you know Rivers state you'll know that power does not stay with gentlemen here. Wike could never have imagined that Sim would put up any resistance. Ah ah! It takes a high level of madness to bomb the house of assembly complex and further demolish it completely. Wike never saw this side of Sim and from now he'll always thread carefully around him. |

A prostitute on her way from work can get convicted, overwhelmed and burdened while walking past a church. If she walks in and starts pouring out her heart to her maker, nothing else will matter at that point. If the picture posted in this thread is not for clout, then it's left for God to judge. |
