Other participants in the coup includes General Ibrahim Babangida, Brigadiers Ibrahim Bako, Sani Abacha and Tunde Idiagbon. prettysolid:yes but the content is what we are looking at here, do you have idea that sia, justin Bieber, Ariana Grange and others have not won a grammy award |
finalboss:airforce1 is a joke, I believe nigeria got what it takes to win it one day |
Come 15th of February, 2016 the 58th Grammy award will be held at the staples center in Los Angeles, California. Once again the ceremony will not only recognize the best recordings but also honor compositions and artists of the eligibility year, which will run from October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015. A Grammy award which is mainly known as Gramophone award is the highest award which any artist of all caliber dreams of winning from hip hop to gospel. One begins to wonder why no indigenous Nigerian based artist (Musicians) haven’t won it, at least we have been nominated severally thanks to King Sunny Ade and Femi Kuti, although five Nigerians based abroad have won it and they are Chamillionaire, Sikiru, Sade Adu, Seal and Kelvin Olusola. On the 7th of December when the nominees were rolled out, Nigerians as usual were disappointed just as none of their own was nominated, but again who will be nominated one begins to wonder, is it Olamide with Shakiti bobo or Harrysong with Reggae blues. (We all know that is not possible). Many Nigerians draw up fallacious believes like Nigerian artist are not members of illuminati that is the backbone of our ordeals but we should know that many indigenous artist in Africa have won it, some of them are Miriam Makea (1 Grammy), Wouter Keller Man (1 Grammy), Soweto Gospel choir (2 Grammy), Lady Smith Black Mambazzo (4 Grammy), all from South Africa, others are Tinariwen (1 Grammy), Ali Farka Toure (2 Grammy), both from Mali, Youssou N’Dour (1 Grammy), from Senegal and lastly the lady we all know Angelie Kidjo (2 Grammy’s ) from Benin Republic, one unique thing about these winners is that they sing with their local language to show that you mustn’t sing in English before you win the award, Angelie Kidjo was also nominated once again for next year Grammy, does that mean they are all members of illuminati confraternity (if at all it do exist). Some sections of the music industry also draw up racist sentiments that Nigerians are discriminated againsst while they forget that the highest nominated artist in Grammy industry (Beyonce) is a black woman and also next years Biggest nominated artist (Kendrick Lamar) is also a Black man. Until we Nigerians begins to appreciate vocals, talents and lyrics instead of beats and noise then we are far from being close to winning a Grammy, king sunny ade and the likes of kuti that got nominated was able to achieve that because of their uniqueness and originality, Artist like Waje, Asa, Timi Dakolo and many others are capable of doing it but our full support is what they need to push them higher, so that the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences will get to notice what we have as our brand as far as the music industry is concerned in Nigeria. on November 19, 2013 at 9:37 pm in News The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State on Media and Publicity has called on the people of the state to remain calm over what he called the stage-managed protest against the November 16, governorship poll in the state. Obienyem, in a statement, yesterday, said that investigations revealed that those who protested, especially the women that pretended to be crying placards were imported into Anambra State from Osun State in five chartered luxurious buses. He said: “Chris Ngige and his group wanted protests at all costs, but when our people, who already know him for what he is, refused, they had to go to Osun State. “Even when they imported some boys from Imo State to protest as students, the Vice Chancellor of Nnandi Azikiwe University, Prof. Egboka, was alarmed when contacted on phone. He had to rush down to the school for investigations. Having discovered that those involved were not his students, he warned against those who lost and said he had checked with all his relevant officials who confirmed that the story of UNIZIK students was fallacious. We have our respects, belief and integrity.” Obienyem added that on further investigation and interrogation of the boys, they confessed that All Progressive Congress, APC people paid them N1,500 each and chartered the buses that conveyed them from Imo State to Anambra |
Our Reporter November 19, 2013 Mass protests swept across major cities in Anambra State including Awka, Onitsha, Dunukofia, Awkuzu and parts of Ihiala and Nnewi yesterday as various groups in the state expressed their anger over the failure of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to declare the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) gubernatorial candidate in last weekend governorship election, Chief Willie Obiano as the governor-elect. The protesters who poured out into the streets in their thousands chanted angry songs to indicate their disapproval and made protest signs as they danced in the streets causing serious traffic snarls in the cities. Speaking at the Awkuzu Junction, one of the protesters and chairman, Awkuzu Youths Association Ifeanyi Muofunanya, said they were giving INEC 24 hours to declare Obiano winner of the election. The youth leader wondered why INEC would wilfully play into the hands of a vicious opposition that had made no pretences about frustrating the wishes of the people to have their favourite candidate run the affairs of the state, “We are giving INEC 24 hours to declare Chief Willie Obiano the winner. Anambra has been a peaceful state. The election that took place on Saturday was unanimously declared as peaceful, free and fair by every observer. Why did INEC declare the results inconclusive? The youths of Anambra State are running out of patience. If INEC does not declare Willie Obiano, the winner in the next 24 hours, we cannot guarantee what will happen in Anambra state,” Muofunanya vowed. “Is INEC naïve or what? Were these not the same forces that circulated a wicked rumour last Friday morning alleging that Chief Obiano had been disqualified from the race? Were they not the same people who instigated a stampede at the Uke Adoration Ground that took 26 lives? Why should INEC continue to indulge them by declaring a very peaceful election inconclusive?” Similarly, the patron, Awka Amalgamated Traders Association, Chief Emmanuel Okafor, called on INEC to review its pronouncement on the results and declare Obiano the winner, stating that the position of the electoral body on the issue is surprising. While stating that in any contest, there must be winners and losers, Okafor said said it was clear that clear that INEC is succumbing to pressure from determined losers. “Willie Obiano is the winner of this election. INEC should declare him the winner and save us all this trouble going on in the state,” he pleaded. Madam Uchemdi Efobi, the women leader of the Eke Awka Market, while calling on the electoral umpire to declare the APGA candidate the winner immediately, wondered why Obiano has not being declared governor –elect haven polled the highest number of lawful votes in the election. Pointing at the locked stalls in the market, the women leader explained that the traders were too pained to open their shops. “We are still in shock. The pronouncement from INEC has left a sour taste in our mouths. Unless something is done and quickly too, we may not be able to restrain our youths from taking the laws into their hands,” she warned. In Onitsha, the mass protests swept past the busy streets in the city and terminated at Fegge where the youth leader, Mr. Ikeya Obiora declared Obiano the winner of the governorship election, and issued an ultimatum to INEC to give him a certificate of return in 24 hours or face a serious uprising in the state. “Please, the question I want to ask INEC is; who did they expect to win this election? Did anybody expect that after deporting our brothers and sisters from Lagos, APC would come to Anambra State to win an election? Somebody should please tell these people that Igbos are no fools! If Obiano is not declared the winner in 24 hours, Anambra State might not be the same again,” Mr. Obiora vowed. |
