I guess you submitted you submitted your application a bit late, but never mind just take your time, things will definitely work out. If you get your letter for a new start date, forward it to CDHC without delay, I believe they'll issue your study permit b4 May next year. no time is too late and in my opinion, I feel it'll be unnecessary to apply for a transit visa as that will be the fastest way to burn ur cable as regards getting any visa type to Canada. they have records and if they go thru their records and see that u've applied b4 as a student they will conclude that u re a desperado(which u re not) and as usual u will the kowole dial tone("not a bonafide student, ". just be patient Canada no dey run, now and May next na almost d same thing. by the way what skool(Uni)?

broda nothing do you, I dey try 4 here and i've adjusted sha but this place cold like shit and d weather in Calgary is so unpredictable. all those your reasons no follow! canadian embassy get as dem play their game and na dem be referee and player at the same time. I even had a worse case than yours, I had no work experience( was still teaching at d time - NYSC ), some few years younger than u, no Job, no strong ties to 9ja, no wife, no kids and no plans to , so i guess all these reasons dey give no really follow. my only advice is dat u make ur application errorproof, attractive and follow up with prayers. all d best man!

don't be so quick to jump out, he may change and I must tell you, it's worse out there if you're alone. give him time and good s** maybe that'll keep him home. sometimes we have to look within ourselves to see where the fault is from(most times we have a hand in somethings dat don't turn out well). Pls, be careful and protect yourself since you're not sure of ur hobby. Have u heard of magun? it may help u out!!!! if u need more info i'll be happy to brief u on it(lmao),

there's nothing wrong with ur sponsor being retired , my popsie's bn retired for over 7yrs and it wasnt an issue in my own case.but it'll be better if such sponsor is ur parent or a very close relative.personally i'd advise u to do ur tin( u dont rily need an agent), just study the guidelines and procedures and u'll find that the process is straightforward.i heard from a friend that the embassy is still accepting applications for Janaury so u can check em out on their email it's somewhere on the site nigeria.gc.ca .u can feel d forms and include all other docs and mail them thru a very reliable courier service company(UPS, Fedex or DHL).tk care

i disagree with ur opinion that the african support was d deciding factor in Obama's victory. without d whites, hispanics, asian americans it wouldnt have been possible 4 Obama to make it to d white house.there's one thing am sure of, Obama will give to everyone(be they white, black or african) equal rights.i am sure he will be unbiased so blacks shouldnt expect too or less from him. people are watching to see if he'll be sentimental towards d black community and if he should show any signs of bias he'll be nailed.my uncle Obama's too wise to fall for such. Americans have shown d world that their political system is the model and that nat'l unity is more important than race or colour(i respect them for that). i would like to know if you have ever made it to the interview stage? if yes is ur answer, then i feel the visa officer or the interviewer (some ladies wey no dey laff at all) accesses how u answer questions relating to d course u studied in undergrad and that which u intend studying for ur grad program. if u dont impress them in such, they'll assume that u arent cut for postgrad studies.take note that u dont rily have to give dem much story cos most of em dont rily know what ur course is all about, just guve dem a sufficient answer and that'll do. from my experience with one of the ladies, they try to be unfriendly and very difficult, but i guess they are trying to see how u cope under pressure.so if u get to dat stage again just freestyle and all will be well.
on the issue on ur not returning after d program i cant tell abt dat cos i feel they know dat most students wont return after their program, but they may choose to use that to prune down d number of people dey issue visas to(remember ther'es always a quota system in visa allocations to countries).
everything all boils down to how u package ur application, it has to be in such a way dat it'll convince d visa officer and as much as possible straightforward. wish u luck in ur application.

what i rily miss abt nigeria is d freedom to act as u like.i cant hang out with frnds and drink beer in d open as i used to do back home, even if i try such Calgary cold no go spare me.i miss d black beauties, my girl, family n friends. the food is something i rily miss to an extent, but i believe if u'r creative and rily wanna eat 9ja food u' can arrange some cool 9ja food for urself(i have two big bowls of egusi n okro soup in my fridge).all u need do is check out any african food store n u'll get whateva u want.I look forward to a vacation in 9ja. LASTLY, I MISS MY BOTTLE OF STAR LAGER BEER!!!!!!!!!!!!

most skools in canada have an application/processing fee of pegged at about $100 for Int'l students.i remember d Uni of Alberta waiving applications fees for some countries(of which 9ja is among) but i cant tell if it applies to undergrad programs. neva consider money in such matters, rather consider what u stand to gain in the long run. money wey u go pay eventually go pass d chicken change $100.so if u no get d mind to pay 4 application fee how u wan come pay for oda wicked fees like accomodation fee, health insurance, tuition etc(no fear oo).
why dont you consider Calgary(UofC)? 4 me Alberta is a gr8 place to study cos it has a diverse population(many asians) and so far i've had no regrets whatsoever.

my first flight was to Calgary, Canada (roughly 19hrs flight).I had never flown b4 dat, but i was Ok and dat was my first contact with the oyinbo crowd cos we were only about 5 africans on-board d lufthansa connecting flight from Germany.I behaved normal, infact it was as if d guy b an ambassador dat travels regularly.d issues i encountered was d cold and d worst was that i felt so caged and i didnt feel good about it.As i just came out from d Airport, na so COLD JUST EMBRACE AS IF NA MY BABE!!! no b small thing o!!!!!!!! but it was a gr8 experience.

i guess it's quite late but you can still go ahead and forward your application cos i have seen some folks who submitted their aplications much later than the 3-months deadline and still got considered.in my own opinion submit d original copy of ALL relevant docs(if it wont really affect your sponsors business in anyway) but bear in my mind that these docs may stay for as long as 4-5 months.i wish you success iin your visa application.

i've not heard from the visa office n they're still with my documents. am a bit helpless as am not in Lagos at the moment. i'll check on them(visa office) by next week if i dnt hear from them. what do u suggest i do?

i had my medicals on 15th july, a week b4 the interview n my int'l passport n documents are still in the custody of cdhc.there were two ladies interviewing applicants on that particular day, i cant really recall, but my interviewer did not sound french(maybe the other lady's d person u r refering to). she asked my few questions aside those centred arnd finances;questns like whats chem engineering(my undergrad course of study) n why d switch to petroleum engineering?what i'v bn doing since my last time of study, what i intend doing on completion of study.
She didnt ask me the questions "why do u want to study abroad" or why canada?
anyway, am not only optimistic about the whole thing, but also prepared for any outcome.

how u? thanks 4 ur concern.as regards ur question,i must confess dat my interview wasn't that pleasant.the lady(interviewer) raised some issues in the area of finance (even though my sponsors bank statement|S| had funds in excess of N4.2m n shares worth millions). bro no need 4 long story,d interview was more like a battle but i didnt buckle under d stress. just dey pray 4 ur guy. if i get a reply, i'd info u.tk care

to answer ur questns aydewale, I got d forms online and filled it(i must confess i was straight wit all d info provided n i didn't try to pull d naija stunt as per " false info n lies".I am 26yrs n presently doin my NYSC in Port Harcourt(a teaching Job), I finished from Lagos State Uni(famous LASU)-d 2nd best Uni on d globe) and got admission for an M.Eng Petroleum Engrg program at the University of Calgary, Alberta. i'd say that am jus a bit more than d average guy u meet everyday.my folks no too hold pepper like dat, but things no too bad(mumsie's a civil servant n popman's bn retired for abt 6yrs now), i neva marry, but if u have a wife 4 me, i wn't mind at all! i hav no family member abroad n this my 1st time applying for a visa, so i just bliev it's jus God dat has brought me this far.
I've asked d graduate program adminstatorat d skool, if CDHC Nig. contacted her with rgrds to my admision, but she said she's yet to recieve any inquiry.

aydewale i understand d way u feel on d delay in the processing of ur application at CDHC.I'll advise you to continue to exercise patience(e'en though it's not dat easy).i also submitted my application on 15th May via courier and heard nothin from the visa office until thursday last week when they returned my passport with some documents informing me to go 4 d medicals and to report at their V/I office for an interview on 25th July.
I believe urs will sail thru and remember dat sometimes good things don't come easy!!
I've just finished my medicals,Pls anyone in the house with advice as regards the interview?what sort of info or questions would they ask? I'd apprc8 such info.
