I was happy to read about your experience. I do need some guidance right now.

I am about to commence my ECA. Although I have been fully cleared by the senate, I am unable to get a statement of result or a certificate from my institution until next year, after the convocation.

Is there any document I could use in place of this to at least get started with ECA?

I intent to use ICES, and according to the information which is provided on their website, I will need to upload my degree certificate or statement of result.

Is there any other document that can help me bypass this ?

I don't see any problems here. Just make sure that during the period of your application, your minimum balance doesn't go below your required POF. You can keep right on doing your business.
Or you can fix your POF and continue your business

Hello Ifeoma and everyone in the house, I am in a somewhat similar situation.

Due to the nature of my business, which is flipping, I buy various small items and sell them as supply to people who need them. Consequently I get credited with averagely 7m every week. Roughly 28 million every month. But in actual sense, it’s just about 5 million I have which I keep using to buy and get paid.

My worry is this, despite receiving these amounts consistently, will I be asked to explain them?

Also, my business is not one that gives out receipts or anything documented. Will this not be a problem?

Note that I’ve been receiving these heavy amounts for over 8 months now. Moreso, I often buy items till my account drops to less than 10k before I sell and get paid again.

Pray tell, would I be asked to provide any other documentation to explain these deposits ?

I am not sure about learning welding and plumbing in Nigeria as that would most likely not be applicable here. Except maybe you have a city and guild certificate or ond or similar technical qualifications in welding and have hands on experience in industries like Hyundai Heavy, Nigerdock or other similar companies. Welding and plumbing are skilled and regulated professions in Canada.

Barbing though is not regulated. Black hair barbers are in high demand. Everytime i walk into one of the two barber shops I use in calgary, I have to wait atleast 2hrs before my turn. If I don't need any special style, I just call to book an appointment with an oyinbo barber. Those ones are always less busy.

Anyways, thanks for the response. I have started compiling a list of handy skills that can fetch cash after normal 'work' closes.

Please ladies, can you tell us how often you make your hair? How much? Can you tell us some other things you sometimes have to spend money on especially when it relates to hiring people?

I really want to offer my own services even if during spare time.

I may even own an establishment which may get jobs and sublet. I just hope.

Hello guys,

I see quite a lot of us are going to Cana in order to get white colar jobs.

Hardly anyone here talking about being a skilled professional in one niche or another.

Nobody talking about opening a salon, a workshop, a fashion house to sew aso ebis which I'm sure many of us will still want to rock at events, tech outlet, e.t.c.

Is it that we all want to be employees, or is it more expensive to own your own business?

Can we look at this angle and see if there are hot skills some of us can learn while awaiting ITA and PPR?

Welding, plumbing, barbing, sewing, hair dressing, gardening, wood work?

Aren't these good viable options?

GlitteringStar, CanadianEnginee and canadianfly, please help solve my small ignorance.

I'm currently confused with the whole evaluation and stuff.

I have a master's degree in Engineering.. and last I checked, I saw a few professional courses listed which included pharmacy and a few others which I currently cannot remember.

Initially, I thought since engineering was not highlighted I had to go with '2 or more'

Now, with the ongoing debate, I'm beginning to understand that I should go with 'Masters' notwithstanding the fact that engineering wasn't listed as a professional degree.

Can you please help clear my doubt. I probably misinterpreted the whole thing as I didn't want to overplay my score in self deceit.

If you had read enough, you would have known enough.

You can still get into the pool, and get your POF completed with a gift deed post ITA.

Stop waiting. Jump now.

Even after ITA, you have 3 months to turn in your documents. A lot can happen in that frame

Good day dear e-family,

I was sent a mail to upload some extra supporting documents to my CIC account with just a one week grace period. Unfortunately I was able to provide all other documents except for one (my tax clearance certificate) by the given deadline.

I attached a letter of explanation that it would be made available to me by my employer some days after the given deadline.
The problem now is there is no more provision to upload any other documents after I put up the others by the given deadline.

Please guys, what do you advice is the way forward in my situation as I wouldn't want to take any chances?

Hello Sir, sorry to bother you much, but do you have any idea on what triggered the need for ADR on Tax Certificate?

I'm about to start processing my documents and while at it, I definitely know my former employer will be unable to provide a tax certificate for me.

I just want to be clear on the cause, and probably a way out if I'm faced with a similar issue.

I am not aware of any permit other than your helmet and maybe reflective items on your bicycle. While bicycle is good for exercising and for short distances commute, I don't really see it as a good means of transport here. Canada is not like the EU where the cities are not far from each other. Also, when the weather is very cold, riding bicycle may not be convenient. You can get a good used car on kijiji to get you around for less than $1500.

Thanks bro. I've also looked at kijiji and other similar platforms. I really hope to be up and doing without having to think much about gasoline.

Hopefully, I will be able to make the best decisions while saving my POF.

Dear Canada people of Nigeria, please oh, no vexxing.
See that Canada you guys are chilling... The only reason I may not enter there next year is just because I want to vote for Buhari in 2019 before I run out.
However, based on efforts, I will get my ITA in less than a month after application, and PPR immediately after... But I'm still making plans as per settlement and job.
Ignore my ignorance, but I know you can't do anyhow in Canada, if not, you go see anyhow.
Do I need a permit to own a bicycle?
Because right now, I'm already making plans to get a bicycle which I will use to tour round the whole province while job hunting, dropping resumes everywhere possible, thereby saving cost for transportation.
I know in places like France, RUSSIA, UK, bicycles abound.
My goal is to get at least a minimum wage job in month 1, while saving as best as possible.
I'm an app developer, currently earning about $500 monthly without doing anything, so I believe that can cover my rent, while I go and hustle for other bills.
Are there any laws regarding bicycles?

Depends on where it's situated, I guess.

It's also pretty secue. Without unlocking it, you cannot hook t on to a carrier.

RVs are what they are called. Recreational vehicles. The city or town council would not let you park your RV anywhere...lol.
Maybe you can get someone that would allow you to live on their drive way

There are RV parks or camp ground though. They are not free and usually out of town.

Lol... I was thinking there's someone I could settle to stay in his compound/lawn... Hopefully not so expensive to rent the space. Seriously, if it's just me, I'll do it.

I have a couple friends in the USA who started out by buying a car immediately they landed, and living in their cars. They also paid premium for a gym and used he bathrooms to bathe and do all stuff.

Back seat of the cars were reclined to make a comfy bed space. We love adventures Sha... cheesy

They were able to drive from City to city until they nailed it.

Guys, forgive me for my odd way if thinking.
I was just wondering. Instead of renting an apartment with about 1,500 when im not yet sure of where I'll be living as a new entry, what do you think about getting an RV?

An RV can be purchased for about 6k which means I can resell after I get a job and finally settle in a desired city.

What are the laws regarding ownership of such?

Is this something a family can manage in? For the greater good?

Imagine if I use a $6000 RV for a year... I can finally sell it off at 4000. Meaning I have only used about 2000 as rent for the whole year.

Am I day dreaming or am I running mad?

I just had a chat with a close friend where he explained that he needed to register for a certain pipeline training program organized by the F.G.

I found it hard to believe that a training program with a 200k monthly stipend attached will require trainees to pay the sum of #60,000 as training fees, after an initial payment of 5,000 for the registration form.

It's much more strange when i consider the fact that the training is being organized by the F.G, sad still, only one blog has details about the payment in the whole world wide web. this is the link to the suspicious blog https://naijacycle.com/host-communities-hostcon-shortlisted-names-pipeline-security-surveillance/ and i am thinking the admin is an accomplice
