Your bravado reminds me of an incident that shocked me when I was in school. A fellow occupant had boasted that no earthy guy could beat her for whatever reason. Her boasting was so irritating and it sparked off a heated argument for hours. Sadly for her, on the night of the same day, her lover visited to spend the sleep over as usual. My room was next to hers. Few minutes into midnight I began to hear eerie noises, certainly it wasn't anything close to sexual or romantic. It was a beating festival.

The feast started, halted and restarted at regular intervals until daybreak. When she got out in the morning, she wrapped her head with a scarf to cover the swollen face and her bruised pride. I think she was simply cautioned by fate to stay away from boasting.

My dear lady, nothing is new on earth. Ask for grace to escape the unpleasant things of life.
its not about boasting but about character, maybe the lady in question was rude to her lover hence she received the beating. Disciple breeds respect
