Politics / Labour Party Takes Offence At APC’s Use Of NAF Jets For Campaigns by neo25(m): 10:28am On Oct 27, 2022
The Labour Party has raised objection against the use of Nigeria Air Force (NAF) jet by the wives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate and the running mate, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu and Hajiya Nana Shettima, respectively.

The two women had on Tuesday used the NAF jet to visit Benue State over the menance of flood in the state and to commensurate with the affected people of the state.

But the Labour Party in a statement on Wednesday frowned at the women’s use of the National Security aircraft attached to Presidential Air Fleet for personal assignments when they were not government officials or on a government sponsored trip.

The Peter Obi/Yusuff Datti presidential campaign office in it’s reaction to the trip described it as an act of impunity, trivialization of serious national security apparatus and a waste of national resources.

“What is disturbing is that both Tinubu and Shettima’s wives are campaigning with Presidential Air Fleet (PAF) aircraft under the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) pilots and crew.

“This is another waste of public funds for pursuit of partisan political interests and open exposure of our men and women in uniform to undue political influences.

“The Obi-Datti campaign organisation calls on President Muhammadu Buhari to stop the Presidential Air Fleet from using NAF operated aircraft for campaign activities.

“These NAF aircrafts are maintained with scarce resources and in this case, the federal government is using borrowed money to fund the campaign activities of the APC Presidential candidate.

“No aircraft in the inventory of NAF or any of the agencies of the Federal government should be involved in partisan political trips or activities.

This must stop. Henceforth, The Presidency, which controls the PAF office should live up to its responsibilities and ensure that these aircraft are used only for enhancing governance and not openly supporting a particular Presidential candidate and party,” the campaign team objected.

Crime / EFCC Probes Supreme Court Secretary Gambo Saleh Over N10 Billion Loot (picture) by neo25(m): 6:55pm On Aug 05, 2022
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has launched a probe into the alleged racketeering by Supreme Court chief registrar Ahmed Gambo Saleh, said to have gobbled up over N10 billion in bribes from court contractors and other persons with criminal cases with the judiciary. Persons with criminal cases with the judiciary.
The probe was prompted by the tip-off from a whistleblower
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has launched a probe into the alleged racketeering by Supreme Court chief registrar Ahmed Gambo Saleh, said to have gobbled up over N10 billion in bribes from court contractors and other persons with criminal cases with the judiciary.
According to sources familiar with the matter who spoke with Peoples Gazette, the probe was prompted by the tip-off from a whistleblower who petitioned EFCC to look into the activities of Mr Saleh, accused of feeding fat on the court’s funds, leaving vital projects to suffer neglect.

Mr Saleh had been accused of conniving with Surajo Muhammad, son of the immediate past Chief Justice of Nigeria Muhammad Tanko, to embezzle public funds.

Despite lacking in qualifications and competence to handle judicial matters, Mr Muhammad (Jnr) managed affairs of the apex court and wielded his father’s position as a tool to carry out backroom deals.

“Today (June 1), Surajo could be said to be a de facto head of the SCN as his father seems to have relinquished the administration of the court to him, even when he is not a staff,” the petition noted.

Citing instances of their brazen underhand dealings, the petition said the duo sold off the residence of a Supreme Court justice without the knowledge of Mr Tanko, who was CJN at the time.

“It will interest you to know that a residence of a justice of the Supreme Court located in the villa, Abuja was sold by Gambo and Surajo recently. The underhand dealings between Gambo, Surajo and the agency so pissed the CJN that he ordered the reversal of the transaction,” added the petition with no. EFCC/PET/HQR/1817/2022, dated June 1 and seen by The Gazette.

However, the building was demolished before the situation could be remedied, rendering the justice who should have been assigned the residence homeless.

Colluding with Mr Muhammad, Mr Saleh allegedly withheld the funds meant for purchasing exotic vehicles usually assigned to newly sworn-in justices, said the petition.

“Under Gambo and Surajo’s shenanigans, they, JSC were given only a Land Cruiser, albeit refurbished. A Hilux was added after one year, and to date, the Mercedes Benz is still being awaited by the justices,” the petition further disclosed.

Eight justices sworn in since November 2020 have yet to be properly accommodated and receive the Benz even though the projects were captured in the capital budget for the 2020 fiscal year.

Mr Saleh, not a stranger to fraud allegations, was charged with diverting N2.2 billion in 2017, a matter later withdrawn by the attorney general of the federation, citing a plea bargain.

Amid the damning fraud charges hanging on Mr Saleh’s head, he got appointed as the secretary of the National Judicial Council, a body responsible for the appointment, promotion and discipline of judicial officers.

A spokesman for the NJC declined comments on the matter.

Before the withdrawal, he was charged with diverting the Supreme Court’s N2.2 billion to his personal bank account at the United Bank for Africa PLC, account number: 2027642863.

Although Mr Saleh then confessed the money belonged to him as it was a collection of cash gifted to him by friends, further investigations revealed the money was “bribes collected from various court contractors who ended up executing shoddy jobs or outright abandonment,” the petition stressed.

He was also charged with obtaining N21 million gratification from MBA Computes Ltd, N16 million from Dean Musa Nigeria Ltd, N10 million from Willysdave Limited, N2.4million gratification from Welcon Nigeria Ltd, all contractors of the Supreme Court.

The petition also claimed that the court registrar, a public servant, was worth over N10 billion. Mr Saleh did not return a request for comment on the allegations.

Also, the spokesman for the EFCC did not immediately provide updates about the investigation.

Politics / WIC Suggests Impeachment Proceedings Against Gov. Hope Uzodimma by neo25(m): 5:20pm On Jul 30, 2022
The World Igbo Congress, WIC, has proposed that the Imo State House of Assembly should commence impeachment proceedings against Governor Hope Uzodimma for his alleged complexity in the killing of 14 young men at Awomama in Oru East local government area on July 17, 2022.

WIC threatened that should the House of Assembly members fail to commence the impeachment proceedings on Uzodimma, they will ask the lawmakers’ constituents to commence their recall from the Assembly, separately and jointly.

In a statement it released yesterday, the Chairman of WIC, Prof. Anthony Ejiofor; and the group’s Public Relations Officer, Basil Onwukwe stated that the WIC noted with dismay, the massacre of 14 young Igbo men in Awomama, Imo State by agents of the state.

It also stated that much of the killings in the state had been by the military and state security agents, but now the Ebubeagu outfit at the behest of the Imo State government under the APC administration, recalling that many youths in the Orlu area especially have been killed since the inauguration of Mr. Hope Uzodimma as the governor of Imo state.

It stated that Imo State used to be the safest, and most peaceful state in Nigeria and the southeast in particular until the Uzodimma administration, but that the height of dark clouds in the state was with the massacre of 14 innocent citizens of Otulu who were returning from a sacred tradition of marriage in Awomama.

The WIC took offence at the characterization of the victims as bandits, stating that the labelling offends the sensibilities of the Igbo at home and certainly in the Diaspora, who have watched Mr. Uzodimma’s style of governance closely, from inception till date and see its unmistakable anti-Igbo stand in everything.

“World Igbo Congress believes that “nmanwu adighi eti onwe ya”. If you are the governor of Imo State, you are the leader of a group of Ndi Igbo who happens to be Imolites. You cannot orchestrate the demands and wishes of those who want to annihilate the Igbo.

We have noted the ultimatum issued by the Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, calling for the immediate resignation of the Governor of Imo State over these killings and the immediate dismantling of Ebubeagu, which, in any case, is an ill-motivated and ill-intentioned security outfit not belonging to the Igbo.
We note that no proper Act of the Imo State Assembly established this outfit or its proper legal instrument of governance.

Nigerian High Court Orders Uniform Cut-off Mark For All Unity Schools, Stops Disparity Requiring 134 Average Mark For South-East, As Low As 2 For Northern States' Candidates
Justice Tsoho, in his ruling, declared as unconstitutional the state-based admission inequality in Federal Government colleges.

BY SAHARAREPORTERS, NEW YORKJUN 30, 2022

Justice John Tsoho of the Federal High Court in Lagos in a landmark judgment has ordered the Nigerian Government to apply a uniform cut-off mark to all candidates seeking admission into Federal Government Colleges, otherwise known as Unity Schools, irrespective of their states of origin.

Justice Tsoho, in his ruling, declared as unconstitutional the state-based admission inequality in Federal Government colleges.

A human rights lawyer and former President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Mr. Olisa Agbakoba, SAN, had instituted the suit against the Federal Government and the Minister of Education, challenging the prescribed different cut-off marks for different states, based on candidates’ gender and their states of origin.

Agbakoba argued that the decision of the defendants violates the candidates’ fundamental rights to freedom from discrimination guaranteed by Section 42(1) of the 1999 Constitution.

He had argued that Section 42 of the 1999 Constitution prohibits administrative or executive actions by the government that discriminates between Nigerians on grounds of ethnicity, gender, religion and place of origin.

Agbakoba had asked the court to declare that the administrative act of the respondents, particularly the Minister of Education, which prescribes and applies different requirements including cut-off marks for candidates seeking admission into Federal Government colleges, based on gender, ethnicity, states of origin, among others, is discriminatory against applicant’s grandchildren and the group or class they represent, on grounds of ethnicity, states of origin, gender, etc. and therefore violates Section 42(1) of 1999 Constitution.

He also prayed for: "An order directing the respondents, particularly Minister of Education to apply uniform admission requirements, especially cut-off marks to all candidates seeking admission into Federal Government colleges, notwithstanding their gender, states of origin, ethnicity, etc.

"An order of perpetual injunction restraining the respondents, particularly the Minister of Education, whether by itself, its agents, servants, privies or otherwise howsoever from further acts of discrimination in admission to Federal Government colleges."

In a 19-paragraph affidavit, Agbakoba had averred that since the inception of the Unity Schools, the Federal Government had maintained great disparity in admission requirements for candidates wishing to be admitted into Federal Government colleges.

In particular, he had argued that the Federal Government prescribed different cut-off marks for different states, based on candidates’ gender and their states of origin.

After hearing arguments from counsel for the parties, the court ordered that the Federal Government and the Minister of Education should apply a uniform cut-off mark to all candidates seeking admission into Federal Government Colleges, irrespective of their states of origin.

134 Average For South-East, As Low As 2 Marks For Zamfara State

In July 2021, SaharaReporters reported how the Federal Ministry of Education pegged cut-off marks for admission into the 104 unity schools nationwide at 134 on average for the five South-East states, while states in the North had cut-offs of 20 marks and even below.

This cut-off is out of a total of 300 marks.

SaharaReporters had obtained the cut-off lists as released by the Ministry for the 2020/2021 academic year, showing the huge disparity between the cut-off marks which candidates from South-East and South-West states should have and what the candidates from North should obtain.

According to the breakdown, Anambra had the highest cut-off of “139 marks for both males and females; Imo 138; Enugu 134, Lagos 133; Delta 131, Ogun 131, Abia 130 and Edo.”

Osun and Oyo were among the 10 top with the highest cut-off marks with both of them having 127 marks.

SaharaReporters observed that the least 10 cut-off marks for Unity Schools were all northern states; Gombe 58; Nasarawa 58; Borno 45; Jigawa 44, Bauchi 35; Kebbi had 9 for males and 20 for females.

Also, Sokoto had 9 for males and 13 for females; Zamfara had 4 marks for males and 2 for females.

Taraba and Yobe were the least states with Taraba having 3 for males and 11 for females while Yobe had 2 for males and 27 for females.

The cut-off marks were reportedly released by the National Examination Council.

“Some pupils are admitted into Unity schools with as low as two marks in the common entrance examinations while some can only get into the same schools with at least 130 marks. Slowly mediocrity has crept in.

“While a candidate from Anambra State has to struggle for 139, a candidate from Zamfara is looking for just 4 marks. Yes, it is true that the quota system is meant to give educationally disadvantaged regions of the country an opportunity to access quality education, but that gap is ridiculous.

“Merit should also be a strong consideration,” an education expert, who did not want his name in print, had explained.

Politics / Lt. Colonel Chris Ugokwe (left) And Brigadier Muhammadu Buhari.(picture) by neo25(m): 9:52pm On Apr 10, 2022
Both men joined the Nigerian Army in the early 1960s (Ugokwe claimed that he enrolled on the same day as both Buhari and Shehu Musa Yar'Adua).

Ugokwe was officially put on army leave after the "reprisal coup" of July 1966. His escape from the North which had become unsafe for officers and people of Eastern Region origin was facilitated by Lt. Colonel Hassan Usman Katsina, the governor of the Northern province to whom he was serving as aide-de-camp. In September 1966, Ugokwe was escorted to Kaduna Railway station by Ibrahim Babangida and Garba Duba before embarking on his journey to the Eastern Region.

Ugokwe fought on the side of the secessionist state of Biafra between 1967 and 1970 as a brigade commander. He was reabsorbed into the Nigerian Army after the civil war with a loss of seniority.

He was significantly involved in two prominent military operations after his reabsorption into the Nigerian military.

As a Major, he was instrumental in flushing out dissident soldiers led by Lt. Colonel Buka Suwa Dimka from Broadcasting House during the abortive coup of February 13th, 1976. The mission was organized by the "Core Commander" of the Armoured Corps, Lt. Colonel Babangida (concerning whom Ugokwe had had 6 months seniority when both were members of the Armoured Recce Squadron before the civil war) and carried out on the ground by Ugokwe, the Regimental Commander, and Lt. Colonel M.B. Mayaki; Ugokwe leading the armored offensive and Mayaki (himself an armored corps officer) the infantry assault. Captain Jimmy Okojoko was also an influential fighter on the ground.

As a member of the General Staff in April 1983, Lt. Colonel Ugokwe was assigned by Major General Buhari, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) the Third Armoured Division in Jos, to recapture 21 islands located on Lake Chad from Chadian forces led by Idriss Deby, the Chief of Army Staff. Ugokwe arranged for the relocation of the headquarters of the Third Armoured Division to Maiduguri and in combination with the 21 Armoured Brigade succeeded in recapturing all 21 islands along with an extra two islands that were seized.

He retired in 1985 as a Lieutenant Colonel.

Lt. Colonel Ugokwe died on December 30th, 2016.

Muhammadu Buhari was involved in the coup which overthrew Major General J.T.U. Aguiyi-Ironsi in July 1966 and fought for the Federal side in the Nigerian Civil War. He was also involved in the coup of July 1975 which removed General Yakubu Gowon and brought to power Brigadier Murtala Muhammed.

During the 1970s, Buhari served as a military administrator of Bornu State, the Federal Commissioner for Petroleum and Natural Resources, and the Military Secretary.

Buhari graduated from the US Army War College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, with a Master in Strategic Studies. During the early 1980s, first as a Brigadier and then as a Major General, he went on to perform General Officer Commanding roles for army divisions; two infantry and the other armored, before he emerged as the Head of State following the coup which overthrew the civilian administration of President Shehu Shagari on New Year's Eve in 1983.

Buhari was himself overthrown by a coup led by Major General Ibrahim Babangida in August 1985. He was placed in detention for a while.

Buhari made several failed attempts at becoming a civilian president during the 2000s but is presently serving his second term as a civilian president of the Fourth Republic.

Health / The Scam In Using Penis Enlargement Products by neo25(m): 5:40am On Feb 27, 2022
The penis enlargement products market, in recent years, has been growing in leaps and bounds. The sellers of the products make bogus claims to convince intending users that what they are selling is effective, yet science has confirmed that no product can increase the size of a penis of an adult. While the merchants of lies are smiling to the bank with humongous profits from mostly spurious drugs, oils, creams, herbs, and pumps, victims of the scam called penis enlargement products are gnashing their teeth in disappointment. However, beyond the scam is the warning of health experts that these spurious products could cause serious health problems. AMARACHI OKEH reports:

For some men, their self-esteem and confidence are connected to the length of their penis. Consequently, any opinion that seems to question the length of their sex organ usually has a serious psychological effect on them. This has pushed many men into buying all sorts of penis enlargement products.

For instance, 38-year-old Andy Livinus (Not his real name), had always been worried about the size of his penis. He, however, said he completely lost his self-confidence after his previous partner told him he has a small penis.

Livinus who lives in Lagos said that the declaration of his girlfriend about the size of his penis drove him to look for penis enlargement products.

It took weeks of convincing before Livinus agreed to share his experience with our correspondent and he noted that he is still battling self-confidence as a result of his concern about the size of his penis.

Speaking with PUNCH HealthWise, the 38-year-old trader said he is always distressed whenever he had to recount his experience with his girlfriend and her complaint about his penis size.

The distraught trader said, “My partners complained of lack of satisfaction during sex and attributed the condition to me having a small penis.

“I lost confidence in myself and began searching for a solution. I was willing to buy anything that promised to enlarge my penis.”

Futile search for effective product
Instead of resigning to fate or suffering in silence, Livinus said he patronised many marketers of penile enlargement products but lamented that the products did not work.

To worsen the situation, Livinus said he suffered a skin reaction that eventually prompted him to seek urgent medical care from a urologist in a government-recognised medical facility.

Livinus said, “So, I went online to two popular e-commerce sites and bought some penis enlargement products. The product that has the least duration in usage was the one that lasted for about three months. And they are all expensive. Yet, they didn’t work. So, I temporarily stopped using them.

“I was, however, still ashamed of myself and my penis size. So, after some time, I tried again by contacting another seller.

“I was shy to discuss my condition with the person physically, so we spoke on the phone and he assured me that his product would work.

“It still didn’t work. The painful part was that for each of those products, I spent between N10,000 to N20,000. I had no positive improvement, instead, I had a skin reaction to one of the products.”

Livinus said he suffered double jeopardy, noting that he was scammed of his money and also suffered further harm after using the ineffective products.

Who are the sellers?
The sellers of penis enlargement products are in different segments and classes. Some of the sellers are found on the roadside discreetly displaying their products.

However, the majority of them have gone digital and operate mostly on social media platforms and e-commerce sites.

An online search for ‘where to buy penis enlargement products in Nigeria’ brought out several sellers who sell their products via google ads. Many of these sellers are also found advertising their products on porn sites.

Our correspondent began tracking some of these identified sellers to understand how they convince their victims to buy the spurious products.

Our correspondent feigned desperation as a newly wedded wife whose husband has a small penis and needed a product that can enlarge it.

Through a discreet search on google, the reporter located and engaged six different sellers who could only be reached over the phone and WhatsApp. None of the sellers, investigation revealed, have a physical office location.

One of such landing pages that our reporter found sold a product called Strong Man which the seller boasted can help a man overcome small manhood in 14 days, even though the product advertised did not have any specific information to back such a claim.

Our correspondent contacted the number displayed on the online landing page over the phone claiming that she needed a solution for her husband’s small penis.

Without asking questions to make a proper diagnosis, the seller launched into the marketing of a penis enlargement oil.

He claimed the oil would increase the husband’s penis in no time assuring her that his penis enlargement product would increase her husband’s penis by two inches if she bought a bottle and by 4 inches if she bought two.

He said, “We have an enlargement oil that will help your husband to perform well in bed and make his manhood to be big and long.

“One bottle of our product will increase his manhood by two inches but two bottles will increase it by four inches.

“It depends on how long and thick you want him to be. You will surely see the effect within 14 days. You’d use the product morning and night.

But when our reporter said she was concerned about the claims as she had read studies that say the penis cannot grow after puberty, he brushed it off saying that those research claims were written by e-writers desperate for page views.

“So, you are guaranteeing me his penis will grow and increase in size?” our reporter asked

“You have a 100 percent guarantee. It is produced in the US so you have a 100 percent guarantee of this product,” he assured our correspondent.

Our correspondent was asked to pay for the oil which he said will cost N15,000.

Our correspondent eventually paid N15,000 to the account number provided bearing the name Olayode Adejare and the seller promised that the product would be sent the same day.

After acknowledging receipt of the N15,000, Adejare did not deliver the product. Rather, he proceeded to block our correspondent on his phone lines.

However, our correspondent was able to track him down with the account details through a bank contact who provided his full name, picture and address.

A search of his details on Facebook provided our correspondent with a picture of this penis enlargement marketer turned scammer.

This provides evidence that some of the marketers of these spurious penis enlargement products are also scammers.

What police is doing
Have there been cases like this reported to the police? The Police image maker for Lagos state, CSP. Adekunle Ajisebutu told our correspondent that they hardly get reports of buyers of these products being scammed.

This, according to him, could be due to low self-esteem or fear of the buyers who usually decided to rather lick their wounds in private.

“Our penis enlargement products would enlarge his penis in 14 days”

Four other sellers contacted by our reporter offered different variants of products that they claim can enlarge the penis.

They promised that after 14 days, the man would begin to see results of an enlarged and lengthened penis.

Speaking with our correspondent, one of the traders identified by the True Caller App as Male Supplements said that his product would do more than just enlarge his penis. It would also take care of quick ejaculation – he claimed.

“The first thing my product will do is it will flush out unnecessary particles that are in his body so that it will make his penis respond well.

“Within 2 weeks he will start seeing the result. It is herbal medicine. It doesn’t have any chemical and it doesn’t have any side effect whatsoever,” he told our correspondent.

As though to further convince our reporter of the commonness of the situation, Male Supplement assured our correspondent that she was not the only woman who had called him to seek a solution for such issues.

Another marketer, identified by True Caller as Thankgod Uzo, told our correspondent that the product would enlarge her husband’s penis.

His product, Max Man Enlarging Gel boosts that it is ‘THE ONLY GUARANTEED PRODUCT that brings SOLUTION for Small Manhood, Weak Erection and Premature Ejaculation’.

This vendor offered our reporter the option of paying on delivery.

He said, “Apply the product with the tip of the finger, massage the penis gently while stroking it once every morning and evening for about 5 – 10 minutes,” he said.

My product will not enlarge the penis
However, one of the retailers stated clearly that his product can’t enlarge the penis of an adult man if the condition has been from birth.

Unlike the other marketers making bogus claims without even asking questions about the intended user, this seller was interested in the background of the intending customer.

“There are some conditions where the penis is very small from birth. So, for those conditions, I do not think our drugs can work for them.

“If it is something from birth, I do not know how to get it enlarged. Because I have seen a couple of conditions whereby people complain of it from birth. I really do not know how to enlarge such a penis.

“If the person was born with a small penis, I believe it will be very very difficult to enlarge it. What he can do is to find a way to manage it,” he admitted.

One common line that all the marketers’ used was to claim that they are not based in Lagos, but they were always quick to assure that they can deliver their product state – even same day – without delay, claiming to have agents across the country.

Investigations, however, revealed that this was just a ploy to avoid physical contact between themselves and the buyers to ensure they are unreachable with complaints when the products failed and also when they decided not to even supply at all.

Livinus, however, warned other buyers to be wary of these vendors, noting that their claims are bogus and false.

Erectile dysfunction products, aphrodisiacs packaged as penis enlargement products

Our correspondent also ordered some products from Jumia and Konga.

Some of these penis enlargement products include a gel, a cream, oil and also coffee.

Most of the products are imported and are mostly from Asia and Europe. None had a NAFDAC number.

An initial attempt by our correspondent to run a laboratory analysis of these products to know their content was, however, not successful. The two different laboratories contacted said the ingredients in the products are too numerous to be analysed.

Our correspondent then resorted to searching online to ascertain the ingredients listed in the packs and discovered that they are mostly aphrodisiacs while some of the ingredients are for treating erectile dysfunction.

But does it mean that in IRT there is not a single igbo or southern person in it even as clerk to know that the harm done to this girl is a harm on his or her own person. I don't think Igbo people like themselves, it's all about money.
Secondly the Fulani IGP most rescind the IPOB coloration it uses to terminate people's freedom and life when labelled. This draws in more people in sympathy to the other side. They can't kill us all. One day we shall rise and will perpetually see them as enemies.
Crime / Herdsman-impregnated-my-wife-vows-to-take-my-life-nasarawa-farmer-cries-out-from by neo25(m): 3:32am On Jul 31, 2021
Lorver Angbir, a 48-year-old farmer from Tse-Nyamsho village in Keana Local Government Area, Nasarawa State has gone into hiding following the threat to his life by a herdsman who had impregnated his wife. Angbir said his sin was that both his wife, Mwuese, and the baby she had from the pregnancy died during labour and the herdsman, who he identified as Alhaji Abu, concluded that he (Angbir) was responsible for the death of Mwuese and the newborn baby because he was not happy that she was impregnated by another man.

××
Speaking from hiding in an interview with our correspondent, Angbir said he regretted the day he met Mwuese with whom he was married for eight years before she was taken over by another man in a manner he considered humiliating while Mwuese appeared to enjoy every bit of the ugly development.

Angbir, who has since taken refuge in another village, said: “My wife slept with a Fulani man with whom we had lived as brothers in the same village for years. She got pregnant for him and told me to my face that he was responsible for her pregnancy.

“It shocked me when, from nowhere, Alhaji Abu started coming into my wife’s room and ordered me out of the house.

“He said I should look for somewhere else to sleep because he had taken over my wife, threatening to slaughter me like a ram if I dared raise any alarm over the matter.

“He was always coming with a gun and other weapons.

“Right in my house and on top of my bed almost every night, he would come and sleep with my wife. And, to my surprise, she seemed not to have any issue with it.

“This ugly development continued for almost one year before she took in.

“We were married for about eight years and I loved her very well.

“I suspect that he used a charm on my wife, because he took over my wife completely, giving things to her while my wife too was taking food to him right in my presence.

“I kept quiet because he threatened to eliminate me if I did anything funny.”

Angbir recalled how he had spent the entire income from his farm about eight years ago to marry Mwuese, saying: “We had lived happily together without any issue. l loved her so much that because of the bad terrain of our area, I did not want her to suffer, so I engaged her with selling provisions while I went to the farm alone.

“Then from nowhere, Alhaji started sleeping with her. Within a short time, he completely took over my wife from me, sleeping with her in my own room and threatening to kill me if I raised any alarm.

“This continued until my wife became pregnant. I have not been able to have sex with my wife since their illicit affair began.

“When she was about to be delivered of a baby and she died in the process, Alhaji Abu felt I deliberately killed her so that she would not deliver the baby. So he vowed to slaughter me like a ram once he set his eyes on me. That is why I had to run for my dear life.

“This was in May, and up till now, I have not gone to my village.

“If not for some Fulani herdsmen who stood by me in the village, I would be dead by now.”

Angbir is now forced to live like a fugitive who cannot visit his community for fear of being killed by Alhaji Abu, who he said has vowed to eliminate him.

He is also a victim of emotional and psychological trauma which he said he has suffered from his wife’s alleged infidelity and betrayal while they were still married.

The couple was living together at Tse-nyamsho, a community in Keana Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.

Angbir, it was learnt, is a full time farmer who loved his now estranged wife so much that he raised some money for her to start selling provisions in the village and did not bother her with farm work.

Six years after their marriage, however, he began to notice that the 51-year-old herdsman was in an affair with his wife.

According to one of Angbir’s relations, who identified himself simply as Mr Agba, his bid for financial stability, which often took him away from home to the farm from early morning to the late hours, leaving his wife behind created the crack in his marriage.

The following conversation ensued between Angbir and our correspondent from the former’s hideout in a community in the suburb of Lafia, Nasarawa State capital:

What is your name?

My name is Lorver Angbir from Tse-nyamsho village in Keana Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.

Why are you here when it is farming season and you are supposed to be in your village?

We live among the Fulani in my area. For so many years, we had lived among them without any issue until the last two years when a close friend, Alhaji Abu came to my house at about 11:30 pm one night and asked me to look for somewhere else to sleep as he was going to pass the night with my wife. It sound strange to me and I asked him why. He said he had taken over my wife and that if I refused or tell anyone about it, he would kill me. He brought out a short gun and warned me again not to disclose it to anyone.

That was how the man took over my wife and kept threatening to kill me he heard it from anybody. He also warned me never to sleep with my wife again or demand sex from her even in the nights he did not come.

Surprisingly, one fateful night when Abu did not come, I tried to make advances to her but she bluntly refused to allow me sleep with her and even threatened to tell Alhaji Abu about it. I was very shocked. She told me to my face that Abu had taken over, and that henceforth, she could cook for me and perform other house chores as a wife, but sex was ruled out. Soon, she became pregnant and so many people thought I was responsible for it, but Alhaji Abu told me to my face that the unborn baby belonged to him and that if anything happened to the pregnancy, he would hold me responsible. I was not comfortable with what was happening, so I tried to complain to her parents. But Alhaji Abu bought them over and there was little they could do, so I resigned to fate and allowed the sleeping dog to lie. I concentrated on my farm work while Abu took charge of my wife. He would give her money, chickens and other gifts.

We live in a remote area where there is no clinic nearby. So when she went into labour, my younger sisters were there with her in the village while Alhaji Abu also sent two of his daughters and his first wife to be with her. She was in labour for a whole day and when she couldn’t deliver, Alhaji Abu arranged a motorcycle to take her to Gizer, the nearest clinic. In the process she delivered a baby boy who came out dead. Two hours later, she also died.

When this happened, Abu suspected that I had a hand in the death of the woman, and I ask how. One week after this incident, I was fast asleep in the night when he came to my house and threatened to kill me with a gun. It took the intervention of some Fulani herdsmen around to save my life. I ran out of the area because he is serious about eliminating me as he accused me of being behind the death of my wife who was carrying his baby. I am hiding here for safety.

It is farming season, but I cannot go back to my area because the man is threatening my life that I was behind the death of my wife whereas I don’t know anything about it.

What about your relatives?

My younger ones are still there in the area. In fact, they arranged for the burial in my absence. Alhaji Abu said he had no business or issue with my family members except me. He believes that I deliberately killed my wife because she was carrying his baby. All my explanation has fallen on deaf ear.

Have you reported the matter to the police?

I am afraid my family members may be put to danger if I report the matter or the threat to my life to the police and an arrest is made. That is my challenge.

But did you actually kill your wife or do anything to her during her labour?

My brother, how would I do that? I was actually pained that somebody took over my lovely wife who I suffered to marry, but I can’t take her life because she betrayed me. She might have died because of complications from the long labour she underwent. To say I killed her, it is not true. I didn’t do anything to her. She died naturally.

Do you know that my in-laws too believe that I must have killed her because they are not happy with me? But God knows I didn’t do anything to her, and my conscience is clear.
Crime / How We Feigned Death To Avoid Being Killed As Police Inspector Went Berserk. by neo25(m): 8:06pm On Jun 26, 2021
Survivors relive ordeal after a policeman guarding their business complex ran amok, shot five persons dead and left four others with serious injuries. DAMIAN DURUIHEOMA visited them on their hospital beds and reports.
More startling revelations have emerged on how a Police Inspector on guard at RC Lotto Company located at Golf Estate, GRA, Enugu shot five people

dead and injured four others in the company. Two survivors who escaped death from the killer cop posted to the company to provide security revealed how he went berserk and shot at anyone in sight.

In all, no fewer than nine people were shot with five losing their lives instantly while four others escaped with life-threatening injuries. Among the four officials of the lotto company who escaped death narrowly were two women identified as Elizabeth and Christina.

While Elizabeth had bullet wounds on her left shoulder and right arm, Christina saw bullets pierce through her left shoulder while her right hand was also shattered.

Narrating her ordeal in an interview with our correspondent at the Enugu State University of Technology Teaching Hospital, Parklane, Enugu where they are currently recuperating, Elizabeth said she and her six of other colleagues had woken up in the company’s premises on that Sunday morning without any premonition of the evil that lurked in the corner.

She said she was outside the building washing her clothes when sounds of gunshots resonated from the gates.

Elizabeth said: “I heard about five or six gunshots and I wanted to go and check what it was. It was then that my elder sister, Susan, ran towards me and dragged me inside our room without any explanation. I met two other girls in our room.

“As we all ran into the room, we saw the policeman trying to force our window open but the window was firmly closed. He shot at the window, shattered it and aimed the gun at us.

“I was already lying down on the bed while my sister, Susan, and the other two girls lay on top of me. Because my sister was the one on top of all of us, I heard her calling on the policeman to have mercy. The next thing we saw was that he opened fire on us and my sister and the other girl died instantly.

“The other girl ran under the bed, and as I tried to join her another bullet caught me on the shoulder. I fell flat under the bed.

“The policeman went out again and we heard other gunshots. He later returned and started calling our names. He even checked through the window to see if we were still alive, but Christina and I pretended as if we were dead.

“After calling our names without any response, we heard him making a call to tell the person at the other end that unknown gunmen had attacked the company and killed seven people.

“We were still pretending to be dead when policemen drove into the premises and we started hearing voices. I also heard the voice of our cook who was now telling them that it was the policeman himself that attacked us.

“So, when the policemen came into our room, they met us there with our bed soaked in the blood of my sister and my colleague. Christina and I were also bleeding from the bullet wounds while the two other girls with us were already dead.”

Asked if the man was drunk and what could have prompted him to start killing people, Elizabeth said: “The man was not drunk. He neither drinks nor smokes. He was always teasing me and calling me Elli. According to him, I strike a very close resemblance with one of his daughters also named Elli.

“In fact, if I didn’t see him shooting, I would not have believed that he could ever attempt to harm us. I don’t know what came over him.”

On her part, Christina said that none of the company’s workers knew the true identity of the policeman despite the fact that he had been working with them since January.

She said: “We all addressed him as officer or Mopol, and we related very well with him. He was working with two other security men who worked as gatemen, and he had lived in the house with us for six months.

“He shot the two gatemen before he came to us. One of them died instantly because he was shot in the stomach. The younger one had his legs shattered.

“I can’t remember seeing him quarreling with anyone. But, I think sometimes in the past, he said something about IPOB or ESN killing policemen and burning police stations. He was not happy about that and said he would finish the IPOB people or something like that. I think that’s the only time I saw him complain.”

It was gathered apparently believing that he had killed everyone in the compound, the policeman moved towards the gates again where he killed two persons: a mechanic in the vicinity and another neighbour who came to see what was amiss.

The two had been worried about the strange gunshots and wanted to be sure that people in the Lotto office were safe, but they did not return to tell the story as the blood-thirsty policeman immediately shot at them, increasing the number of casualties by two.

He was said to have tried to cover up his crime by personally calling the police to say that some gunmen stormed the house and left a heap of casualties behind. But immediately the police arrived, the cook, who was reportedly hiding in a corner, jumped out and narrated what he saw, saying that Police Inspector himself did the killings.

How errant policeman ran riot — Neighbours
Some neighbours at the Golf Estate who spoke to The Nation on condition of anonymity said they peeped through their windows and saw the policeman shooting but did not suspect anything because none of the victims was heard crying or moaning.

One of them said: “I didn’t hear any cry. That was why I didn’t suspect anything evil. It was when our neighbour went anxiously towards the gate of the premises to find out what the problem was and I heard another two gunshots and the neighbour falling to the ground that I knew something was wrong.

“I was inside my room watching him as he removed his magazine and replaced it with another one. After shooting, he called someone on the phone, and 10 minutes later, policemen came in and he was showing them the dead people, gesticulating maybe to say that the attackers had fled.

“He told the police officers that he killed two of the unknown gunmen. The people he was calling unknown gunmen were our neighbour and the gateman that manned the building opposite the company.

“He was also showing them the places where bullets had pierced when a member of the company’s staff, who I later learnt is their cook, emerged from where he was hiding and started telling them what happened. It was then that the policemen disarmed him and moved inside to bring out the other bodies and those that were still alive.

“But one thing the inspector said was, ‘I will confess, I will confess’. But they didn’t allow him to talk again until other vehicles came there.”

They are the only reason why we don't have the kind of trouble Southwest has. They have sent Hausa/Fulani Police and soldiers to come and uproot these frontliners so Bandit hearders can come and infest the forests with camps and pillage us from the Back like most Yoruba States. Religion / Religion And Nigeria by neo25(m): 6:58am On Jun 20, 2021
RELIGION in Nigeria is a form of mental robbery and slavery. Our country has become a nation where the government is defined as coagulation of cult politicians and religious brigandage. According to Wikipedia, “Brigandage is the life and practice of highway robbery and plunder. It is practiced by a brigand, a person who usually lives in a gang and lives by pillage and robbery.” The Wikipedia definition perfectly fits Nigeria’s current situation, where government and religion are the quickest means of getting rich quickly at the hapless citizens’ expense. And, of course, nobody will challenge your sources of stupendous wealth if you get extraordinarily or circumstantially rich overnight. The manner with which people shout hallelujah and In sha Allah to religious manipulation of the manipulators is beyond rational thought.

In the United Arab Emirates world, Saudi Arabia, and other advanced countries, they worship Allah/God without denying the 5G revolution and Covid-19 pandemic to make money off their boisterous citizens. There’s no religious and ethnic mercantilism. I cry literally anytime I see the hopelessness and self-inflicted anguish the religious and political leaders daily heap on Nigerians. It’s pertinent to note that Nigerian religionists mock Allah/God daily with the Holy Books. Everything they do is the antithesis of what they preach daily.
It is not uncommon for people to ‘pray’ (mock) in the (dawn) morning; steal the minds of the people, and people’s money throughout the day, and then come home at the twilight of the night to (mock) ‘pray’ to Allah/God for more ‘miracles’ the next day. Any country that romanticizes this blasphemous situation in Nigeria will continue to witness the current nation’s abnormalities and calamities.

Mindfully, the Nigerian version of religion’s adherents in Nigeria wantons in squalor, while their clergymen and women live in luxury and megalomania and hedonistic lifestyles. Yet, no matter the level of Nigerians’ education or knowledge acquisition, the collective followers’ mental cognition corded with their Alfas through Stockholm syndrome and the opium of Nigerian theologies. If you are tempted to challenge the followers’ (deliberate) ignorance, you will be the devil’s incarnate and devil’s advocate. We’ll continue to be in deep trouble if the trend and religious blasphemy continue unabated. There’s a need for us to “emancipate our people from mental slavery.”

Inadvertently, my people must wake up to the reality of 21st Century development. Every time one travels from coast to coast across the United States of America, one is moved to tears for Nigeria to see how a modern society should function. Nigeria is not working! It is not even close to a work-in-progress. As a citizen in glorified self-exile yonder, you’re frightened to plan a visit to your loved ones in your beloved country. If you don’t get killed by a road accident, the spate of kidnapping, armed and mental robberies occasioned by leaders’ (religious leaders and government) attitude towards the followership will sicken your heart. Our leaders nestled in our mental nomenclature. The souls of those who claim to bridge our relationship with Almighty Allah/God always think of religious enterprise. The God most of us worship doesn’t need Alfas, Daddy GOs, Mummy GOs, or marabouts to serve as buffers, intermediaries, or catalysts between the Almighty Allah/God and us. Those who lead us (preachers) worship Allah/God and remind us of our eternal salvation do so with “In God’s name Plc” and mercantilism. They don’t preach what we need to do to avoid the sinful things that will deny us heavenly rewards. Existential prosperity has dwarfed or replaced divine salvation.

The Nigerian version of religion is a means to emasculate and encapsulate vulnerable people’s minds in a vortex of (deliberate) ignorance. Rather than fostering an egalitarian society, they’re using religion to destroy many homes and families. People have used religion to turn wives against husbands, children against fathers, mothers against in-laws, children, and families, blossom friends against merrier friends. Religion has shortened lives and created a dysfunctional and pariah society in Nigeria. The list of Nigerian mental slavery and robbery goes on and on. In the rancorous of religion, societal growth and development have eluded Nigeria and made the people more impoverished. It’s a society of anomie where hapless lives wanton in squalor, brutish, nasty, and short-lived. Despite our raw talents and human capital, we have wasted our energy on mundane things that have no bearing on our well-being. Nigerians are quick to celebrate mediocre people at the expense of deserving people. Mediocrity holds sway in government, private, and individuals circles. A potentially rich country has relegated the chunk of its people into the backyards of squalor, hardship, and adversity.

Religion has rewired and distorted many minds. Many Professors and academically inclined people are not exempted from the mental slavery of the Nigerian version of faith. Nigeria is one of the most religious nations in the western hemisphere, and yet, it is the most crime-infested region in the world. The protagonists of religion are political leaders, their bondage, and warped religious minions. They have spiritual surrogates in faith as leaders. The protagonists reside in the minds of #Leadership and #Followership. The religious marabouts help in festering ignorance between the leadership and followership and make them live in the same cocoon of mental slavery. The three nuances (leadership, followership, and marabouts) of religion above are the bane of national growth and development in Nigeria.

In today’s Nigeria, everyone seems to be motivated by instant gratification and a quest for instant wealth acquisition. It’s not uncommon to hear a “too long article” to read. Or “na motivational speaker go put food for my table?” from the apathetic audience or readers. In contrast, motivational pastoruers and cults of politicians can quickly speak diabolically to colonize their minds with monetary value to buy private jets and live in luxury. Our society is featured in (deliberate) ignorance, grandiosity, and poverty of mind. This article speaks to everyone’s conscience in our religion, geopolitics, and cultural nuances. The poverty of mind with ethnicity and religiosity are not mutually exclusive. Every region in the Nigerian geopolitical entity is guilty of the substance of this presentation. Until there are a collective will and purpose to develop a nation fraught with lies, pseudo-religiosity, hypocrisy, the spirit of individualism, etc., the impoverished North will continue to act with privilege and play the born-to-rule. Their poverty-stricken almajiris and the rest of us will be the victims. We will continue to dwell on the hypothesis of hypocrisy and deceit in the Southern and the Eastern parts of an ineffable and beleaguered nation called Nigeria.

The unanswered and lingering question is: how will our people be emancipated from the shackles of the Nigerian version of religion? It is very concerning! If Nigerian religionists continue like this, we are in the long haul to the promised land, if, at all, Nigeria has any promised land on her plan through a collective journey on our road to nowhere!
Nairaland / General / Danger Of Android Phone And Phoenix App Information. by neo25(m): 7:05am On Mar 03, 2021
Phoenix App has the potential of reaching everyone who owns an Android phone. They have the strategic placement with Android, dishing out News and information which everyone with an Android phone must glance through the Headlines weather they wanted to or not.
Unfortunately, this prime place has lead to lots of distorted information allowed to be written by individuals sitting in there bedrooms without verifications or research but to get peoples attention at all cost in order to make cheap money.
Ranging from Sexually Explicit contents to Gory Photos to Looming War in Nigeria and the world to baseless Gossips. The information, videos and photos find there way to Android users who has no need for them due to age or level of understanding.
Imagine a young child with his first Android phone seeing an attracting caption of the Sex video of a person, with a malicious pictures of a Man and Woman. or that of an elderly person seeing a caption of The End of Nigeria and the closing in from every forest Fulani Herds Men and Bandits while this person in a village depends on healthy and verified information from the Android phone He or She owns.
Android Developers and Government handlers should quickly wade into this issue and begin to regulate the information dished out to the public by PHOENIX, sanctioning those who wish to force down their rotten and distorted news and information down our consciousness just because we own an Android phone.
