Putin is frustrated. He has been pushed to the very limits of his games. He is now in a fix. He is like a mad dog now, doing everything outside the rules of conventional warfare, all in a bid to break the resilient Ukraine. He is even stealing grains, stealing vehicles, raping innocent girls, shooting babies and the elderly. He is unhinged, and it might be a matter of time before his last luck slacks.

This is a "Special Military Operation" he thought would last a few days and the Ukrainians would succumb. It's three months already, and nothing seems close to ending soon. Zelensky is not ready to cow to the bully, and this shocks the psychopath. He must be wondering where that comedian got this macho from.

After fighting Ukrainians and probably getting dealt with, Putin will come home to face angry Russians whose war will certainly linger after the smokes must have gone down in Ukraine. Putin might be succeeding at using cosmetic measures to make it look like the Russian rouble is not affected by the series of sanctions from the West, but he knows well enough that he is merely covering a furnace with bare hands.
