First thing I always try to sort out in applying for a visa is meeting the document requirement list (Although, providing all necessary document doesn't guarantee visa approval, as all the embassies will say ) At least, this will make your application appear more serious comparing to application with less required documents. In fact, embassies do write on their forms that applying with incomplete document may result to delay or refusal of visa application. If embassy state in their document checklist that you need health insurance certifate either as a visitor or student, I don't see the reason why you wouldn't want to include it in your application, if you need the visa. Health insurance certificate is a vital document for travellers particularly those who will be staying in the foreign country beyond 3 months. It is advisable to get your health insurance certificate, if it is required by the embassy. They have the list of approved insurance companies to buy the policy from. I wish everyone of us the best in our endeavours. |
Dencotext:May God increase your knowledge. |
dejiconde:Submitting his landed property dox may not be necessary, rather you need to prove beyond reasonable doubt that the sponsor is related to you (even if they are your parents) Tip: In case of maternal uncle, it would be appropriate to include family tree and dox or cert showing your mother's maiden name, relating it your your maternal uncle's name. If someone who is not any of your family member is sponsoring you, you need to prove the genuineness and his motive of doing so. This is why Canada study visa applicants sometimes include both affidavit of sponsorship + letter of sponsorship (Yes, both dox serves same purpose, but affidavit is more Official and has legal biding because it involves the court of law) in their application. Note: This is just a clue on some steps to add more value to your visa app. In case you choose to re-apply for the study to Italy or any other country that operates in similar method;this may be useful. I wish you the best in your endeavours. Ciao! |
smithsydny:I got my health insurance from home and still used it to apply for my permisso di soggiorno per motivo di studio (residence permit for the purpose of study) How about that? As a matter of fact, it saves cost. |
What a tiny world we live in!!! I met this family twice in the heart of Rome. First,it was the woman and one of her sons. Being a gentleman and proud African,I helped them with some information and they were grateful; not knowing I'll still meet the whole family another day, with the father. Reading about them again sounds interesting. I am glad they found the boy without much stress. I hope they are careful next time. In life, we meet to part and part to meet. Just be good! |

When Neymar was introduced as the newest member of Paris Saint-Germain following his world-record transfer from Barcelona, he was wearing a classic black suit and one noticeable accessory — a timepiece from his own line of watches. The watch, seen in the attached photo is the Neymar Jr. Limited Edition from GaGá Milano. Only 500 were produced and they retail for €1,790 (US$2,100). According to GaGá Milano, prior to the World Cup in 2014, Neymar randomly walked into a GaGá Milano boutique in Tokyo and spent ¥20 million (US$180,000) on 16 watches and some accessories. According to the company, "the entire staff [was] in awe." Clearly, Neymar was a fan and the company sensed an opportunity as he is now their brand ambassador and his own line launched earlier this year. You can read the rest of the story here:http://www.businessinsider.com/neymar-spent-180000-on-watches-in-one-day-and-turned-it-into-an-endorsement-deal-2017-8 This story got me reasoning maybe this is the strategy Nigerian big spender, Hushpuppi is trying to employ to get endorsement deal with the luxury brands he patronizes and shows to the public; particularly the Gucci brand. Who knows? But if that is the plan, he still has a lot of work to do. However, only time will tell. ![]()

Agreline:Since you are fully funded by the school, 3M should be okay. You only need fund for living and accommodation expenses, which I believe your 3M will be more than sufficient. All the best, brother. ![]() |
Agreline:Good one, I must tell you. I think your prospective school have stake in the startup scene there. Ecosystem is at infant stage in Italy compared to U.K and likes of Republic of Ireland; this maybe a pro or con for you, depending on your long term goals. You may join the community and if you want to launch a startup, you may establish in Italy and have international mindset. But the startup scene there is growing. All in all, I would be looking forward to welcoming you to Rome, if I am still in town when you come. ![]() |
Agreline:Grande! Good one, brother. Any plan to check the startup scene in Rome? |
yomitekons:I'm good, bro. I am studying Interior Design (Interior Architecture) not Interior Decor. Though I can do the job of a decorator and decoration is sometimes part of my work, but a decorator cannot do my work. ![]() Also, I am not studying at Tor Vegata, though I know the school. I hope you are enjoying your summer in Rome? I lost your contact when I moved outta Roma after my exams. See ya in Roma soon. ![]() |
yomitekons:Are you sure the school offer such course/programme? |
yomitekons:Hey man, since when have you been studying in Rome? I just completed a session.MODIFIED I never knew it was you. How far? |

smithsydny:He is even good to go as a self sponsor if he is going for UG. He has the ball in his court, he can play it anyhow he wants. |
The best or nothing! |
SLIDEwaxie:Hey! Brother man. |
smithsydny:He is a student, a student can fly with one way ticket since he will be spending a long time there. But it is good to buy return ticket if you are some one who likes the African sun like me. and would like to come to Africa at any available opportunity (holiday). Besides, you tend to get better airfare deal on return ticket compared to one way. |
Their problem. Anyway, point has been made. |
dejiconde:That Italian consulate in Lagos needs cleansing. A lot of things are not right there. They give us inconsistent information, particularly those related to study visa. I can only but commend you guys for trying all your best to get the visa against all odds. The consulate is not properly organized at all. All the same, don't allow those distractors and their distractions derail you off the track. |
datola: Smart response. Smart dude. I see a smart entrepreneur. You are going places if you stay focused and believe in your dreams. Remember, you will actualize your dreams while you are awake. Keep calm and carry on! |
kwenu:The way those who came through the back door behave is nothing to write home about. But all the same, it depends on your character and mindset. I have met a lot of Italy who respect me for who I am and a couple of rude ones, who I put to where they belong. Most times from my reaction, and sometimes from my words, I make them realize I am doing business with their country ( They sell education and experience to me as a student, while I pay them with my money) I walk on the streets of Italian with my African identity, sometimes with my necklace of African pendant or my Ankara print shirts. I show love when they show hate Each and everytime I go to the club with my African signature necklace, dem babes would wanna dance with me and some have also tried to go away with my necklace. Though, I always let 'em realize I am taken If you want to come and study in Italy, make sure you or your sponsor have saved enough for your academic and living expenses. You won't regret studying in Italy, as you will have a life time experience while studying. After your studies, you may find job elsewhere or if you have a very competitive qualification+speak more than a language, you may work with Int'l NGOs in Italy. Keep calm and have international study experience around the world. |
mindovamatter:Calm down, brother. Your initial priority and impression about Italy from day one got you into this mess. Some of your points are valid, while some are off track. ![]() I am studying in Rome (may move to other city later). Although, I am on holiday now, and out of Italy. Students in my school are wonderful, and they are always excited to teach me Italian language. Unless you are going to private school, tuition fee is cheap and sometimes free in some Italian universities and not all of them require you to study in Italian. I am studying in English. It all depends on your vision and how you see life, learning and challenges. I understand your situation. I am a Pan-Africanist and I always seize the opportunity to chat, encourage, advise, support and learn from any black man or African I come across in Italy. I think it is the issue of mindset. In your own case, if you truly have a permanent residence in Italy, you can apply to study in other European countries you feel are doing better ( I don't want to influence your judgement ) or better still, get a vocational skill and experience, then dive into the world of entrepreneurship, if that's your way. I should return to Roma around August, if you are still in Rome, we may sit to have a cup of coffee as brothers. Who knows? ![]()

Itanna:Like I said earlier, it all depends on your proposed education expenses. For instance if you are going to a private university that charges tuition fee of about €15,000 p/a your account balance as a self sponsor, your account balance might be expected to be heavier than a sponsored student who is attending a government university of €2000 tuition fee p/a. It boils down to your expenses (tuition + living). I will suggest you calculate your tuition + living + travel expenses for a year, deduct it from the balance on the account you will be presenting; you are expected to still have substantial amount in the account after these expenses have been deducted. It won't be a bad idea if you still have 2M in the account after the expenses have been deducted. (Whether you are being sponsored or a self sponsor ) |
Itanna:I don't know if 3M will be sufficient. Though I had beyond 3M in my account when I applied, but I think financial capability will be tested based on factors like: sponsorship(ownership of the account; whether you are being sponsored or self-sponsor , overall expenses per year (tuition + living) etc. |
Cool stuff ![]() |
